Damian’s hair was still damp from the bath as he walked toward the door, quietly rubbing a towel through the strands while the remaining droplets ran down the sides of his face. The warm air from the bathhouse clung to his skin, and the loose black robes he had changed into felt comfortable after the weight of his ceremonial clothing.

Loth followed a few steps behind him, adjusting the robe around her body while keeping another towel wrapped securely around herself. She had only just finished herself when Damian had decided to leave, so she had barely managed to put herself together before following him.

They were almost at the door when it opened from the other side.

Racheal, Hazel and Ruby stood outside and all three stopped simultaneously.

Their gazes moved from Damian to Loth, then down to the towel wrapped around Loth’s body before returning to Damian. The silence lasted only a few seconds, but it was enough for Racheal’s expression to change completely.

Her pink eyes became cold.

"What the hell are you doing here?" Racheal asked, stepping forward.

Loth immediately lowered her head and moved behind Damian, her smaller frame almost completely disappearing behind him. She clearly had no intention of challenging Racheal, especially after seeing the expression on her face.

Damian, however, remained completely calm.

"She was my personal attendant on Earth. I have decided to keep her in the same position here on Velmora." Damian explained.

"But..." Racheal began, but the word died in her throat.

She wanted to question him but she stopped herself.

This wasn’t the young man they had known on Earth anymore. Damian was now the full fledged Sin of Lust, a God to countless beings spread across worlds and the ruler of an empire that was beginning to bend around his will. There were decisions she could question as his wife, but there were also boundaries she understood she could not cross simply because she disliked something.

"I understand." Racheal finally muttered, lowering her head slightly.

Her voice was respectful, but her cold gaze remained fixed on Loth and Damian noticed.

Before Loth could become uncomfortable under that stare, Damian shifted his position, completely blocking her from Racheal’s view. He stepped close enough that his face was only a few inches from Racheal’s, forcing her attention away from Loth and toward him.

"You are not allowed to lay a finger on her. Do you understand?" Damian asked.

His voice remained calm. That was precisely what made the warning so serious.

Racheal’s eyes widened slightly before she immediately lowered her head.

"Of course, Sire."

Damian studied her for several moments, making sure she understood that he wasn’t making an idle request. Only after he was satisfied did his expression soften. He reached up and gently cupped her cheek, lifting her face toward his own before leaning down and kissing her forehead.

Racheal’s entire expression changed. The coldness disappeared almost instantly as a flush spread across her cheeks.

"You know you are my only Succubi Queen and nothing will ever change that, right?" Damian asked.

Racheal stared at him with dreamy pink eyes, the earlier jealousy already fading.

"Yes... Yes, I do." She answered softly.

Damian smiled and kissed her forehead once more before finally walking forward.

Racheal followed behind him, while Loth waited for them to move ahead before following. The brief confrontation was already forgotten as they moved through the corridor together.

"So what is it?" Damian asked Hazel, who had fallen into step beside him.

Racheal walked behind them, quietly using the towel to wipe the remaining moisture from Damian’s hair while Hazel moved along his other side.

"We just got news that the envoy from the Council has arrived in Velmora’s border states." Hazel said, her expression becoming serious again. "They will need about three days to reach the capital, and they have formally requested that you halt the executions until they arrive."

Damian’s expression remained neutral but Ruby immediately frowned.

"Babe, you don’t have to listen to them. If you do, everyone will think you’re subordinate to the Council, and your people will call you weak. Capital offenders must not be spared!" She said energetically.

Ruby had always been more direct than the others, and the thought of allowing the rebels to escape punishment clearly irritated her.

Damian smiled slightly and reached over to pat her green hair. His fingers slowly ran through it as they continued walking.

"Of course." He said calmly. "I already ordered all six Demigod generals involved in the coup to be executed publicly tomorrow."

Ruby’s expression immediately brightened.

"Good."

"And the seven hundred plus civilians in custody?" Racheal asked from behind.

Damian’s expression hardened.

"They are not civilians. They participated in the coup, and they will all be executed by the end of the week. I’m having the Special Police investigate the families of everyone involved as well. The purge needs to be thorough. That way, they will never dare rise against this God again."

His voice remained controlled, but the final words carried an unmistakable threat.

Hazel reached over and slipped her hand into his and Ruby did the same from the other side.

Racheal then placed a hand around his shoulder and gently redirected him toward the opposite corridor.

Damian looked at her in confusion.

"What’s going on?"

"When was the last time you ate something?" Hazel asked.

Damian blinked. He actually had to think about it.

The previous night’s battle, the royal court session and everything that had followed had consumed so much of his attention that food had barely crossed his mind. His body didn’t demand it the way it once had on Earth, so he hadn’t even noticed how long it had been.

"Exactly." Hazel smiled when she saw his expression. "You can’t even remember."

Ruby tightened her grip around his arm.

"Now come. Let’s have our first family dinner together. That damned fox is already seated and waiting."

Damian chuckled.

"Rin?"

Racheal nodded firmly.

"Since we’re all one big family living under one roof, we should at least share a meal once in a while."

Damian looked at the three women surrounding him, then glanced back toward Loth, who was quietly following behind them.

He couldn’t really argue with that.

"Fine."

They continued down the corridor toward the dining hall, but the mention of food brought another memory to Damian’s mind.

It was Olaf.

His smile disappeared and his expression tightened as he remembered the old man’s kindness, the meal he had served him and the fact that he had been murdered simply because someone wanted to send Damian a message.

The women noticed immediately.

Before Damian could say anything, Hazel pressed herself closer to him. Ruby did the same, while Racheal’s hand tightened gently around his shoulder.

"We already sent for his son’s recall." Racheal said softly. "The boy will make it back by the month of your coronation, so you don’t have to worry about anything."

Damian remained silent for several moments as he glanced at his wives one after the other. The weight in his chest didn’t completely disappear, but it became easier to carry.

"Thank you." Damian finally mumbled.

The three women smiled.

For once, Damian allowed himself to be led toward the dining hall without thinking about enemies, executions, councils, legions or the throne waiting for him.

For a single evening, he could simply sit down with the people who had chosen to stand beside him and eat.
