Chapter 800: Chapter 800: This is Not Your Living Room!

"Gu Demon accepts the command!"

The man in black revealed a ferocious smile, nodded, and then turned to leave.

「In the Wu Family of Sea City.」

"Father, good news! That Yang Qi left for Three Prefectures Town alone. This time, it’s confirmed he has no experts with him. It’s a great opportunity to get rid of him," Wu Xiu said, rushing to find Wu Heng with the information.

"Is that so? That’s excellent news. Immediately notify Lin the Madman in Three Prefectures Town and have him help us kill this Yang Qi. Once the deed is done, I can agree to do that thing for him," Wu Heng said with a smile.

"Lin the Madman is the top bandit in Three Prefectures Town. With him on the job, it’s a sure thing," Wu Xiu said excitedly.

"Let’s just wait for the good news."

The members of the Wu Family were thrilled. They could finally get rid of Yang Qi. Otherwise, he would always be a burden and a source of perpetual trouble for them. In their eyes, Yang Qi had always been exploiting their family’s name to swagger about and deceive others, so their hatred for him ran bone-deep.

Meanwhile, Li Chengshou of Future Group and Lin Qiang of the Martial Alliance had also made their own arrangements to take Yang Qi’s head in Three Prefectures Town.

On the bullet train, Yang Qi was chatting with Chen Baixiang, completely unaware of the many eyes now on him. He had no idea his trip to Three Prefectures Town was shaping up to be extremely dangerous. However, Yang Qi was mentally prepared. He had offended many people, and if Chen Baixiang knew about his trip, others likely did as well. It was certain they would try to deal with him.

But so what? Would he be afraid?

Right now, he could basically be considered the pinnacle of existence in the Southern Territory. He had already earned a spot on the Martial Arts Overlord List. Very few people were a match for him.

After chatting for a while, they both felt tired. They reclined their seats to rest, as Three Prefectures Town was still some distance away.

They had just leaned back when a group of people walked over from another carriage. The leader, decked out in gold and silver, was the epitome of new money. He was no older than his early thirties, yet clearly affluent; the watch on his wrist alone was likely worth over one hundred thousand, and his outfit must have cost several hundred thousand. He was surrounded by glamorous women, along with a few men who fawned over him like eager puppies, constantly trying to curry favor. This group was incredibly loud, not caring in the slightest that they were disturbing others.

Yang Qi frowned. He was just trying to rest, and their noise was incredibly annoying. "Excuse me," he spoke up. "Everyone is trying to rest. Could you please keep your voices down?"

"Who the hell are you to tell our boss what to do?" one of the lackeys immediately snapped, barking at Yang Qi like a vicious dog but not daring to approach—a perfect example of a dog borrowing its master’s might.

"Exactly. This isn’t your private residence. If it’s too noisy for you, go home," a tall woman said triumphantly, clinging to the boss’s arm.

These people not only lacked any self-awareness but also grew angry when called out, which spoke volumes about their usual behavior.

"Young man, just let it go," a middle-aged man advised, glancing at Yang Qi and shaking his head. "I recognize that boss. He owns a famous social media company, and those women are all internet celebrities under his employ. The most popular one has tens of millions of fans. You can’t afford to provoke people like them. They’ll expose you and dox you at the drop of a hat. Nobody can handle that. It’s better to just put up with the noise."

Hearing this, the boss showed no shame and instead grew even more conceited. "Kid, you heard him. Shut your mouth. We’ll do as we please. You’d better not say another word, or I’ll make you socially dead."

Yang Qi’s frown deepened. What is wrong with these people? If the media is controlled by individuals like this, what will society become?

"Mr. Yang, let it go," Chen Baixiang said, shaking her head. "These people are more formidable than the reporters of the past. They’re practically uncrowned kings. They have massive fan bases, and it can become very troublesome if they stir things up."

"Heh, now here’s a lady who understands how the world works," the boss said, his eyes lighting up as he saw Chen Baixiang. Although he had countless internet celebrities working for him, none could compare to her. Chen Baixiang was not only beautiful but also the Family Head of the Chen Family. Her aura was on a completely different level, beyond anything those internet celebrities could ever hope to match. Though she wasn’t deliberately dressed up, her simple pantsuit perfectly accentuated her figure, completely overshadowing the others. The boss was practically drooling.

"Kid, switch seats with me," the boss ordered, walking up to Yang Qi.

Yang Qi was speechless. He hadn’t even responded to the man’s earlier arrogance, and now he was being ordered to switch seats?

"No," Yang Qi stated coldly.

"Kid, do you even know who our boss is?" the lackey beside him barked. "He’s the famous Wu Renyi! His company is one of the top ten social media firms in the country. We’re on our way to Three Prefectures Town to plan a new show. If you know what’s good for you, move. We might even let you get some screen time. Otherwise, we’ll turn you into a villain everyone despises."

"Kid, you must be this beauty’s bodyguard, right? You look tough, but where’s your brain?" Wu Renyi said coldly. "I want to discuss business with your boss, so don’t get in the way. Besides, you’re also heading to Three Prefectures Town, aren’t you? First time? You have no idea what that place is like, but I’ve been there seven or eight times. Let me tell you, in the entire Southern Territory, Three Prefectures Town is the most fun and exciting place there is. I even know the great bandit, Lin the Madman, and he has to show me respect. You won’t lose out by sticking with me."

He had aimed these words at Chen Baixiang, assuming it was her first visit and expecting her to be impressed enough to seek his help. To his annoyance, however, she showed no interest at all. She simply dismissed him as an idiot.

"I’m sorry, but while we are going to Three Prefectures Town, we don’t require a guide. We know the area quite well," Chen Baixiang said, glancing at Wu Renyi with disdain. She found the man incredibly irritating.

She had been to Three Prefectures Town as a child and was even close childhood friends with Jin Ruoyun, the daughter of the City Lord, Jin Zizhen. Why would she need someone else to show her the way? Of course, she used to travel with bodyguards, so she never feared bandits. This time she didn’t have any, but with Yang Qi by her side, she was even more fearless.

"Also, a word of advice: this gentleman is not my bodyguard. He is my friend. I hope you’ll show him some respect. With him here, even Lin the Madman would be no problem," Chen Baixiang said, looking at Yang Qi with a face full of admiration.
