My God-Level System Can Rebuild Civilization in the Apocalypse!
Chapter 348: Building a Farmland
This information did make Joo Joowon breathe a sigh of relief. If the number of red mist zombies was going to keep increasing, that was one thing. But if their strength could also continue increasing on its own, then he would really have to consider the possibility of giving up his position as a Lord and running away.
This was a very realistic problem. Even if he could become stronger than the red mist boss in the future, that was something that would happen in the future.
At the current stage, the other party still seemed to be in a period of rapid development. Joo Joowon, on the other hand, had already reached the point where he needed to settle down and consolidate his strength. His level would not be able to increase by much in the short term.
He also wondered how Seong Seungmin was doing.
Joo Joowon had not sensed any intense fluctuations in his Star Fortune or Star Fiend so far. This meant that Seong Seungmin’s side should still be fine for the time being, and nothing too serious had happened yet.
He stopped paying attention to these matters and pulled up the map to check the location of the foxtail grass. Then he bought a common-quality farmland blueprint from the shop.
It could not be said that Joo Joowon was being stingy. The requirements for higher-quality farmland buildings were simply too high. By the time he gathered all the materials, who knew how long it would take? There was really no need for that.
He only wanted to quickly finish this series of assessment tasks first and get the durability of his territory buildings established.
Unlike the pitiful durability of equipment, which was miserly in its numbers, the durability of buildings started out in the hundreds. Their ability to withstand risks was much stronger than that of players.
When Joo Joowon found the foxtail grass, he saw that it had already taken root beside a tree. It looked very inconspicuous, almost like an ordinary weed that no one would pay any attention to.
After the mountain had been scorched by the earthfire once, it could almost be said that not a single blade of grass remained. Yet in less than two days, tender sprouts had already appeared in some places.
Joo Joowon guessed that some grass seeds had probably not had the chance to fall to the ground yet, so they had been lucky enough to avoid being burned by the earthfire. Later, after the fire went out, the wind blew them down onto the ground, allowing them to grow again.
He crouched in front of the foxtail grass. "Tori, have you decided that this is the place?"
"Meow~"
Joo Joowon: "???"
After remaining silent for a moment, he could not help asking, "Why are you meowing like a cat?"
Tori innocently replied, "I noticed that you seem to like it."
So it meowed to cultivate a better relationship with him.
Joo Joowon: "..."
He really did not know what to say anymore. Watching a plant meow like a cat was simply too strange.
He could only force himself to ignore this and took out the blueprint he had purchased.
[ Apocalypse Blueprint · Farmland ]
[ Rank: Common ]
[ Description: A livelihood-related building. It can be constructed on one mu of non-barren land, slightly increasing crop survival rate, growth speed, and yield. A sapient unit with some knowledge of farming must move in before it can be put into use. ]
[ Note: Three blueprints of the same quality and type, or one higher-quality blueprint, can be used to upgrade this building. ]
[ Usage: Plant crops in the farmland, then have a sapient unit take care of them. ]
[ Required Materials: Basic Wood 0/10 ]
Joo Joowon believed that the place chosen by Tori should not have anything to do with being barren. Besides, there was an Energy Pool nearby. No matter how he thought about it, the condition of the soil here should not be as bad as that of other places.
Moreover, could wood ash not be used as fertilizer to increase soil fertility? So the condition of the soil on the mountain should not be that bad either, right?
Even Joo Joowon felt a little guilty saying this. If there really was nothing wrong with the soil here, the farmland would not have been cultivated beside the road in the first place.
In any case, he would know after trying. If it failed, he could think about it then.
Joo Joowon unfolded the blueprint, and a construction blueprint immediately spread out, covering a full mu of land.
The blueprint flickered for a moment, seemingly determining whether the location met the requirements. Soon, the phantom image of the farmland appeared there. As long as someone cut down enough wood according to the shape of the phantom, the farmland could quickly be constructed.
Aside from the Lord’s Manor and the city walls, the other blueprints in the Age of Apocalypse did not include the subsequent construction work after purchase. Players had to build them themselves or find an NPC or player with a construction-related secondary profession to build them.
However, as long as someone with a construction profession was available, the speed at which these buildings could be constructed was still far beyond what was possible in reality. Usually, they could be built within a few hours.
The requirements for a common-quality blueprint were not that high. Joo Joowon had checked the Lord Forum before, and as long as the location was generally acceptable, it could pass the blueprint certification. There was no need for a construction profession bonus.
Building the farmland was very simple. The soil only needed to be turned over and the weeds and other things growing on the surface removed. Then, it had to be cultivated into individual square plots. After that, a simple marker fence had to be placed around the outside. Once this was done, the farmland was considered complete. It was not nearly as troublesome as clearing and developing wild land in reality.
