Perhaps there were some kind of restrictions preventing them from doing so. It was also possible that if a conflict really occurred, the lord would not even have the chance to leave a review about whether the other party’s attitude was good or not.

Regardless, he had already done it, and he did not regret it.

"Meow?"

Hwi looked wronged. He had already licked all his fur clean, so why was he still not allowed onto the bed?

Joo Joowon ignored him and simply closed his eyes. In the darkness, a vast and boundless river of stars appeared before him.

"So beautiful."

Joo Joowon could not help sighing in admiration.

Rather than simply being beautiful, it was actually more of a feeling of shock and awe. He could sense the surging energy contained within those rivers of stars. Any one of them could crush him to death as easily as crushing an ant.

He stopped thinking about it and instead began sensing his own fate star. Soon, his mind settled down, and he began to rest.

Rather than calling it sleeping, it could actually be described as meditation.

Meditation was one method of quickly recovering Mental Power. It was also something that professions such as mages would do when cultivating. There was no fixed posture required for meditation. As long as the person felt comfortable, any posture was fine. Therefore, Joo Joowon naturally chose to use sleeping as his method.

Even when it came to meditation, there could be huge differences in the details.

Some people would meditate on an animal or a totem of some kind. This kind of meditation usually had no harmful effects as long as they did not deliberately court disaster.

The starry sky was different. There were far too many mysteries hidden within the starry sky, and no one knew what they might encounter while meditating on it. According to incomplete statistics from the Astral Palace, at least one transcendent who meditated on the starry sky either died or went insane every day.

Among mysterious things, the starry sky, darkness, and the sun and moon were all very special existences. Naturally, using them as the objects of meditation carried a much higher chance of encountering danger than meditating on ordinary objects.

Therefore, compared to meditation, the Astral Palace recommended that they take Mental Potions to restore their Mental Power, especially Astral Diviner. Because of the special nature of their own fate, they could easily encounter special events while meditating on the starry sky.

If they really wanted to meditate, the Astral Palace recommended that they choose their own Fate Star or some relatively gentle stars instead. They should not directly meditate on the starry sky.

Joo Joowon was someone who listened to advice, so he naturally would not deliberately court death. In fact, he was not meditating at all. He was merely relying on his body’s instincts to slowly recover his Mental Power.

Compared to when he had just returned home, the star fortune that had fallen after his return was now gradually rising back toward its normal trend. As for the Star Fiend, it had somehow gathered in an unfamiliar place.

However, Joo Joowon was not worried. Anyone who dared to do business in the high-risk zone should have some means of protecting themselves. They should not simply run into trouble like this.

This was not something Joo Joowon had done. It was an instinctive action of his fate. He had merely chosen not to stop it.

The fate of the Harbinger of Endless Misfortune was constantly affecting any living being that came into contact with him, and no one could escape it. After becoming a Astral Diviner, Joo Joowon could only suppress its effects slightly. He could not completely prevent this indiscriminate attack or restrain the workings of fate.

But he was not afraid of being discovered either. This was not something he had done in the first place. Even if the other party wanted to investigate, they would not be able to find anything.

The Harbinger of Endless Misfortune’s ability to remain hidden was extremely strong. After all, if it could be detected so easily, how could it possibly bring death to others? Before it could sacrifice others to the heavens, those people would have already struck first.

Joo Joowon focused his mind and carefully sensed the fluctuations of the Star Fiend. How well a Astral Diviner could use their star fortune affected how powerful they were. As a beginner, what he needed to do more at this stage was sense the paths along which they moved and gain a deeper understanding of them. Only then would he be able to use them more naturally.

A qualified Astral Diviner could easily sense the strength of an enemy through fluctuations in their own star fortune, and the margin of error was much smaller than with other methods of sensing.

Joo Joowon could not sense the other party’s level, but he knew that the other party was definitely much stronger than him. The Star Fiend was fluctuating far too violently, giving him the illusion that the Harbinger of Endless Misfortune was using every last bit of strength it had just to bring misfortune upon the other party.

For a low-level transcendent to curse a high-level transcendent was a very unprofitable deal. Even if the low-level transcendent suffered backlash and died, the effect it had on the high-level transcendent might only be enough to make them feel as though they had been lightly scratched.

For Joo Joowon, however, things were not quite like that. The Harbinger of Endless Misfortune had never cared whether the other party possessed a noble Fate. It would still bring misfortune upon them.

However, strength could resist everything. If the other party remained safe and sound, then his own Star Fiend would have been wasted for nothing, and he would also suffer some backlash.

Fortunately, this was not something he had actively cast himself, so even if there was backlash, it would not be too severe.
