My Gang of Swordsmen
Chapter 627 - 2: Chokata Toshisuke Urged to Marry
Chapter 627: Chapter 2: Chokata Toshisuke Urged to Marry
"Forget it... Mr. Tachibana, let’s not talk about this for now."
Chokata placed the washbasin beside his feet on the ground.
"And who knows when Qianxun House will be empty."
"Mr. Tachibana, why don’t we have a sparring match now?"
Aoto raised his eyebrows forcefully: "Spar? Now?"
"Yes!" Chokata put his hands on his hips, smiling, "It’s already this late, and Mr. Tachibana, you’re still practicing swordsmanship in the dojo... Your diligence is making my blood boil!"
"I’m quite free right now, so why not take the opportunity to have a duel!"
"It’s been quite a while since we last sparred."
As soon as Chokata finished speaking, Aoto nodded without hesitation.
"Okay!"
Sparring with Chokata again... that was exactly what Aoto wished for!
Competing against a master like Chokata would be very beneficial for his rehabilitation, helping his body to quickly remember the feeling of fighting again!
Aoto and Chokata quickly walked to the edge of the dojo, each grabbing a piece of protective gear, and skillfully put them on.
At this moment, Chokata suddenly smiled at Aoto and said:
"Mr. Tachibana, come to think of it... I haven’t mentioned it to you yet."
"Mentioned what?"
"I’ve recently had a whole new insight into our Natural Reasoning Heart Stream!"
"Insight? What kind of insight?"
Chokata let out a "hehehe" laugh, revealing a mischievous smile.
"Based on the Flat Cyan Eye and the Unconscious Sword, I’ve developed a new ultimate move!"
Flat Cyan Eye: A basic sword-holding stance in swordsmanship, a variant of the Middle Stance, one of the most commonly used stances in Natural Reasoning Heart Stream.
Unconscious Sword: A thrusting skill in Natural Reasoning Heart Stream. Among all the sword techniques in Natural Reasoning Heart Stream, Aoto is best at this move, it is his most adept technique.
Aoto was taken aback, then grinned.
"You’ve developed a new move? What kind of new move? Can you show it to me later?"
"I can’t show it to you right now." Chokata shook his head vigorously, his slender ponytail swinging high, "This new move of mine is still in development, and there’s quite a lot that needs improvement, it’s not yet ready to be showcased."
At this point, Chokata paused, grinning, showing a wide smile with his eyes squinted like crescent moons to Aoto.
"Once I’ve fully developed it and practiced it to perfection, I’ll show you my new move!"
"Although there are still many things that need improvement, I have a feeling—my new move will absolutely shock Mr. Tachibana... no, it will shock everyone!"
Aoto chuckled, "I’m looking forward to it."
With that conversation, the two, now donned in protective gear, stood on either side of the dojo’s center.
Just as they were about to start after completing their squatting stance—
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
The sound of knocking at the direction of the hall’s entrance suddenly rang out...
Aoto and Chokata were both stunned.
"Is it... a guest?" Chokata murmured while setting down his bamboo sword.
"So late already, it’s unlikely to be a guest." Aoto frowned slightly, "Let’s go take a look."
The night’s so deep, yet someone comes to knock on their Shiwei Hall’s door at this hour... A sense of alertness rose in the hearts of both Aoto and Chokata.
No time to remove the protective gear, Aoto and Chokata walked in large strides toward the entrance.
"Coming, coming!" Chokata called out loudly toward the wide, thick wooden door as he walked quickly since leaving the dojo, "Who is it?"
"Toshisuke, it’s me. I’m back."
From behind the door came a deep middle-aged voice spoken gently.
"?!" As the rich male voice sounded, Chokata’s eyes widened, shining with excitement.
"Ah!" Crying out in excitement, Chokata quickened his pace, bouncing and darting towards the door.
The voice was unfamiliar to Aoto, he had never heard it before.
But Aoto keenly noticed that the owner of this voice spoke very intimately, calling Chokata "Toshisuke."
Taking into account Chokata’s current reaction... Aoto remembered someone.
Someone whose name he had heard on the first day he moved into Shiwei Hall but had never had the chance to meet.
Clang... While Aoto was pondering, Chokata quickly undid the latch on the door.
As Chokata slowly pushed open the tall, thick double doors, Aoto hurried to look through the gap being revealed to the outside of the door.
Outside stood a middle-aged man, wearing a pair of swords at his waist and carrying a large bundle on his back, looking travel-worn.
This middle-aged man appeared to be around forty; his slightly tanned face indicated a long relationship with sunlight, with ordinary features, the kind of face "lost in a crowd."
Not very tall, with a height barely over 1.6 meters. Neither burly nor thin in build.
Whether due to his appearance or not, Aoto only felt that a kind of honest aura was always emanating from this man’s presence.
With such a face, and such an aura... this middle-aged man seemed more like an ordinary old farmer than a Samurai.
The only somewhat remarkable place on this man that caught Aoto’s attention was his eyes.
The middle-aged man’s eyes were bright, almost as if sunlight was residing in his pupils.
These bright eyes made the middle-aged man look vibrant, full of spirit.
