Chapter 535: Chapter 179: The Niō Riding a Bull Charges Toward the Battlefield

Aoto ignored this fellow.

After casting an indifferent glance, he supported his legs with his hands to stand up.

"Miss Kinoshita."

Upon hearing Aoto calling her, Mukiwa immediately focused all her attention on him.

"Take these two things of mine to the North Guard Station, and tell the Dōshin named Inagawa Hanjiro who’s on night duty there: Tachibana Aoto has discovered new movements from the Anti-foreigner Group, they’re planning to set fire to the settlement tonight."

"In short, just tell them all the details about the Anti-foreigner Group’s plan to attack the settlement, and urge the government to quickly send people to the settlement."

Aoto removed the Seal Cage and Jitte from his right waist and handed them to Mukiwa.

"If they ask who you are, show them these two items and say you’re my friend. As long as you tell them this and show them these items, they’ll believe your words."

Mukiwa accepted the Jitte and Seal Cage from Aoto, blinking... with a hint of surprise between her brows.

The reason why... Mukiwa now only felt the panic and fear that filled her heart earlier rapidly melting away like snow.

Seeing Aoto’s calm demeanor and hearing his steady voice... an unusual sense of stability surged within Mukiwa.

Her mind began to function normally, her thoughts no longer a chaotic mess.

"Mr. Tachibana." She asked, "I’m going to the North Guard Station... where are you going?"

Aoto’s direction was clear, asking Mukiwa to go alone for aid but leaving his own plans unmentioned.

"We’ll act separately." Aoto looked up at the sky, "There’s still some time before the Anti-foreigner Group officially launches their attack..."

"Tonight’s attack on the settlement by the Anti-foreigner Group is sure to deploy a large number of people, possibly even going all out."

"Evacuating the residents or repelling the attackers is beyond what I can handle alone right now."

"Even if I hurried to the settlement to tell them to ’run away,’ I’m insignificant, probably no one would pay attention to me."

"Most residents of the settlement are unlikely to take a Yamato person seriously."

The face of Gerard, Elodie’s private tutor, who often looked at Aoto with disdain, surfaced in his mind.

"Simply put, to stop the attack from those madmen, the government must intervene personally."

"So, Miss Kinoshita, can I entrust you with the task of ’informing the government to send help’? You’re much faster than me, this task suits you better."

"I need to first rescue Miss Sazanoko and the others."

Aoto turned his gaze towards the direction the Scarred Warrior mentioned was holding Sazanoko and others.

"Though those fools insist they ’won’t swing their butcher knife recklessly,’ one can’t wholly trust the words of madmen."

"Miss Sazanoko and the others need to be rescued quickly, otherwise, changes could occur."

"After rescuing Miss Sazanoko, I’ll head to the settlement to join forces with the government’s troops, repelling the Anti-foreigner Group!"

Aoto’s words were full of logic... and strength!

Mukiwa blinked blankly at Aoto, then nodded firmly with a serious face.

A determined sparkle shone in her eyes.

"Mr. Tachibana, leave it to me!"

Mukiwa tightly grasped the Jitte and Seal Cage in her arms.

"I will rush to the North Guard Station as fast as I can to urge the government to send aid to the settlement immediately!"

"Alright." Aoto grinned, "I’m counting on you!"

"Ah, by the way. Mr. Tachibana, how should we handle these people now?" Mukiwa suddenly recalled the Scarred Warrior and others.

Aoto frowned at the Scarred Warrior and others on the ground.

Aoto indeed struck quite heavily earlier, these fellows still lacked the strength to stand.

Both of them were racing against time now... no time to slowly deal with these people.

Then... Aoto raised his gaze towards Nakamura Chouhachirou.

Feeling Aoto’s gaze, Nakamura Chouhachirou’s body shivered slightly.

After hesitating for a moment, Nakamura Chouhachirou, understanding the meaning in Aoto’s eyes, gritted his teeth.

"... I understand! Mr. Tachibana, I’ll figure out a way to guard them for you first! I’ll have my household servants come with ropes to bind them all!"

After speaking, Nakamura Chouhachirou, with pleading eyes, looked at Aoto who had just vowed to rescue Sazanoko and the others.

"Mr. Tachibana, please save my daughter!"

...

...

After briefly mentioning the crisis the settlement faced to Sazanoko, Aoto ignored the shocked expressions on Sazanoko and Nakamura Tsuki’s faces, he looked up to assess the sky.

"Miss Sazanoko, you should walk north along this street, heading north will lead you to a populated area."

"Once you reach a populated area, you should be safe."

"I must leave now."

Withdrawing his gaze from the sky, Aoto looked at Sazanoko and smiled at her.

"See you later."

Aoto didn’t engage in lengthy goodbyes with Sazanoko and the others.

He simply said "See you later" and supporting the Ghost-Slaying at his waist, he dashed eastward towards the settlement’s location!
