My Ex-Husband Always Knew That I Had Cheated on Him

Chapter 425 - 404: Innocent Little Daisy

  • Next Chapter

Chloe Simpson gathered all her strength, stretched out her hand, and shoved Lucas Hughes, bolting towards the door of the private room.

But she had barely run a few steps when Lucas reached out and dragged her back.

Although he didn’t grab her by the hair, the scene was eerily reminiscent of the dream she had in the basement on that day.

In an instant, Chloe was completely frozen.

Lucas seized the opportunity to harshly pin her down to the sofa.

"Chloe Simpson, very good! This time, you’ve come to me voluntarily, so don’t blame me!"

Lucas reached out to rip her clothes, but suddenly the door to the private room opened.

"Sir, here’s the red wine you ordered."

Chloe thought Selene Wilson had already arranged everything.

To her surprise, it was just the waiter coming to deliver wine.

But it was a good opportunity; she could use it to escape.

However, even with the waiter delivering wine, Lucas continued to hold her tightly.

At The Empyrean, service staff were likely used to more sensational incidents than this, so they paid no attention, placed the wine on the table, and quickly left.

Chloe’s heart raced, her mind filled with ideas for how to counter the situation.

But after the waiter left, Lucas turned to look at Chloe and suddenly laughed.

"Heh, Chloe, with such a high-and-mighty manner, how could someone like you end up in a place like this?"

Upon hearing this, Chloe let out a long breath of relief.

She picked up the bottle of wine the waiter had just delivered, opened it, and poured Lucas a full glass.

Lucas raised the glass and downed it in one go.

Then Chloe, in a falsely innocent voice, asked, "Sir, who is this Chloe Simpson you’re talking about? Do we look alike?"

"Her? She’s a shameless and flirtatious woman, my ex-wife. On the very first day of our marriage, the night of our wedding, she hooked up with another man."

"Hmph, just because that man had money and power. I loved her so much, I even forgave her, yet she still chose to leave with that man."

Lucas feigned the role of the victim, speaking with deep emotion.

Chloe truly marveled at his ability to distort the truth so shamelessly.

She knew Lucas was unscrupulous, but not to this extent.

"Ah? That woman went too far, sir. Don’t be sad anymore; tonight let me keep you company and we’ll drink ourselves into oblivion."

Chloe said in a wheedling voice and poured Lucas another full glass of wine.

Lucas was not suspicious at all and drank it all in a few gulps.

Of course, to make it believable, Chloe also poured herself a glass and drank it all quickly.

After drinking, she began to flatter.

"Sir, you’re such a good, affectionate man. That woman is blind to leave you for another man. Money is important, but those wealthy types often just fool around and once the novelty wears off, they won’t want her anymore. How come your ex-wife doesn’t have any sense?"

"Besides, you’re so handsome, able to spend at places like this. Surely you’re rich enough, isn’t that enough? Your ex-wife is really too obsessed with money."

"Truly, people who are insatiable end up swallowing more than they can handle. Sir, if I had a husband like you, I’d probably smile in my sleep. Alas, it’s a pity I might never have that fortune in this life. With my background, I..."

For so many years, Lucas had never possessed a man’s dignity.

Especially, he couldn’t even get aroused, unable to be a real man.

Now, what he desired most was to be adored by women, worshipped by them, and then to prove his prowess in bed.

Chloe seized this weakness of his, flattering Lucas to the extreme.

Afterward, she even managed to squeeze out two tears.

Looking up at Lucas in reverence, like a devotee worshipping an idol, her eyes sparkled like stars.

Lucas was instantly caught up in it.

"Really? Is that truly what you think?"

He lifted Chloe’s chin and leaned in closer.

"Of course. Only, sir, given my identity, it’s here at The Empyrean. But I assure you, sir, today truly is my first day at work; if you don’t believe me, you can ask the manager."

"And I’m very clean, I’ve never flirted with any boyfriend. Until now, I’m still... still..."

At this point, Chloe appeared as if she was about to say more but suddenly paused, her face flushed.

In the eyes of Lucas, he wanted nothing more than to crush that innocent little flower beneath him.

"Still what? Hmm?"

Lucas’s eyes showed unabashed lust, his intentions barely concealed.

Chloe’s voice grew weaker, her head lowered, showing a shy demeanor: "The first time. Sir, if you don’t believe me, we can go to the hospital for a checkup right now. I’ll show you the results."

"No need, I believe you."

Lucas smiled lewdly.

"Really? Sir, you really trust me?"

Chloe raised her head again, her face filled with ecstatic joy.

She suddenly realized she was indeed a skilled actress.

"Of course, besides, whether it’s true or not, testing it would make it clear."

Lucas seemed impatient, not wanting to wait for any hospital visit.

"Sir, you’re... you’re awful."

Finally, Chloe succeeded.

She led Lucas to room 9099 on the upper floor of The Empyrean.

Upon arrival, the door was ajar.

As expected, Selene Wilson had already arranged everything as she’d said.

Chloe escorted Lucas inside, where a woman came forward to take over.

Then, Chloe completed the plan, retreated successfully, turning to leave.

But suddenly, she felt a strong sense of doubt.

Given that Lucas was already this wasted, Selene didn’t need anyone special.

As long as they looked like Chloe, it’d suffice—why insist on her coming personally?

Suddenly, she had a bad feeling.

Indeed, the next second, a heavy stick hit her from behind, and she blacked out.
