Chapter 139: Celestial Arrowgarden 2

"Stupid" was the right word to describe the human in front of him. Tulkan had never seen a human so stupid, yet there was no denying that the human was in fact very strong.

But if he was strong, why act so stupid and overconfident?

Tulkan didn’t know who would come from his family for this matter. But one thing was certain, it would not be someone weak, considering that Tulkan was in fact the weakest of his family.

Perhaps the one who came would be his own older brother, who was at Rank-S, leading an army made up of elite-level fighter Dragons.

With that, what could a human who was still at Rank-B do?

Nothing. Not a single thing.

The difference between Rank-A and Rank-S alone was already absurd. And yet that human was at Rank-B, which made it clear that the difference between the two was like that between the ground and the sun.

Light shot up into the sky. Unlike before, the human had fired a single arrow shining with golden light.

The human wasn’t aiming at the swarm, but far above in the sky, right where the swarm of Dragons coming for Tulkan would pass.

"You have a lot of tricks."

The human heard that and smiled slightly. "Trust me, this one will be very beautiful."

Though confused by that ambiguous answer, Tulkan only snorted roughly, watching from up there.

The arrow burst into firecracker-like fragments that slowly spread and formed a formation.

At first it was hard to make out, but in the next instant each fragment of the arrow released a spiral of light that connected to the others, forming a formation.

A second later, Tulkan realized the sky had been filled with created constellations.

The sky was full of golden color, and just as the human had said, it really did look very beautiful.

And the power coming from it seemed far from ordinary. Not when Tulkan began to see thousands of golden lines of light slowly falling one after another, and in that place a rain of light arrows had come down like shooting stars.

That made Tulkan wrinkle his face even more.

"Human... I’ve never seen anyone like you."

"....?"

"You’re at Rank-B, yet to have so many absurd skills developed to such high levels, that is truly an impossible achievement. Who are you, really?"

At this point, Tulkan set aside his ego and pride. After all of that, he could no longer regard the human as an ordinary human.

Though he felt deeply humiliated, full of anger and a hatred that blinded him, in the end he was still a Dragon. A creature believed to possess extraordinary wisdom.

Faced with something new, something absurd that shouldn’t exist in this world,

Tulkan felt both curious and confused.

Yet what he saw was only an empty gaze, fully revealing soulless eyes, a gaze that seemed as if it would strip his soul bare.

"Look over there," the human said, pointing toward where the chaos was happening. Arrows kept falling and destroying everything, and even though those dragons carried something extremely powerful, they would surely be held back, even if only for a few seconds.

That alone was enough time.

"You’re already dead."

Tulkan widened his eyes, looking at the smoke billowing upward.

A glimmer of fear showed.

As for Julian...

"Get out of here."

"Get out of here."

He kept the skill active to warn him of danger. Even so, Julian ignored it and kept sinking into the strange sensation he felt.

With his mind seeming to make him capable of handling everything, he looked at Tulkan, whose eyes were trembling, whose face had gone deathly pale, about to scream.

Julian had been waiting for that.

The moment Tulkan’s mouth opened wide, Julian coated his sword with Frost Edge, then appeared suddenly in front of Tulkan’s face and thrust his sword into Tulkan’s throat.

"Get out of here."

"Get out of here."

"Don’t... waste any more time."

In the end, even the whisper of fate had changed its words, stressing that the danger was coming closer.

Julian could feel it too, Felicya’s gaze looking at him listlessly, but behind that gaze there was something that seemed demanding.

Without a trace of fear, Julian ignored the dark blood spurting out in huge amounts.

Then, with one final step, he forcibly released Winterfall from within.

He ignored the posture it required, and instead of letting the sword process everything gradually, Julian detonated it midway.

Tulkan’s body froze from the inside. Starting from his throat, his lungs, to all the organs of his body.

The outside stayed intact, his scales so strong that the ice itself couldn’t get out and instead stayed trapped inside. But that turned out to be a disaster for Tulkan.

His insides were churned up, and every organ must have been shattered to pieces.

Amid a muffled scream, Julian pulled out his sword.

"You’ll be too late."

[Rank Progress +1.01%]

The whisper of fate and the system sounded at the same time.

Along with that, the rain of arrows stopped. The only thing visible was the swarm of Dragons with the thunderous sound of their wingbeats.

Julian didn’t see a single one killed by the rain of arrows. But that was fine, he had gotten what he wanted, which was more time to kill Tulkan.

In fact, even without it, Julian was sure he could still have killed Tulkan. But once again he was being driven by the strange feeling that had taken over his body.

That made him act like this, and even though Julian could think that it was reckless, his body reacted as if it was something that could be done without any worry at all.

Why was that?

Julian looked at the surroundings, which had turned into a snowy landscape.

Afterward, he looked at Felicya, who seemed to be looking at him demandingly, spreading both her arms.

"Carry me."

"....."

Julian blinked, then let out a small sigh, vanished and reappeared right in front of Felicya.

He reached his hands around Felicya’s armpits and lifted her up. After that, Julian used one arm to carry Felicya, while using the other to hoist Monk over his shoulder.

Like lifting a big sack.

"It’s already too late."

Julian used that skill once more, and the whisper of fate itself said that everything was already too late.

Was that really so?

Julian refused to turn around, and immediately used Flash Step to get away.

At the same time, a dragon landed. It stared at the place where Julian had vanished.

In the Dragon’s gaze, it could still see Julian’s position and presence as he kept moving from place to place.

It could have gone after him and caught Julian, but the Dragon only stood there silently, staring at something as though it was looking at something it had never imagined it would see again.

"....."

What was that?

The Dragon’s soul trembled completely.
