’Why is he just standing there? Has he given up? Does he have no way left to fight back, and has he decided to protect his friends with his body? Hah. What a pathetic, weak creature.’

The thoughts of the two Dragons reached the same conclusion. They were about to fire their destructive attacks, but before that could happen, one of the Dragons felt a touch on its back.

Someone had landed up there.

"So it’s just a big lizard."

It was a voice speaking a sentence the Dragon couldn’t understand. It was clearly a human language, but they weren’t sure which language the man was using.

Before they could make sense of the sentence, their minds put themselves first because of the crisis that might be coming.

The Dragon turned its head, trying to find Julian standing on its back. And there Julian stood.

’Damn it. Is that an illusion? An Afterimage? What an annoying power!?’

The Dragon forcibly stopped the power that was about to be released. It caused some trouble, but he could hold it back for now.

He was about to throw the man off his back, but before that could happen, the man had already raised his sword high and slammed it into the Dragon’s scales.

Clang—!

A loud sound of metal striking rang out, and the sword struggled to pierce the Dragon’s scales.

"Kahahah! Foolish human, did you think your attack could pierce my strong scales!?"

The Dragon shouted, then deliberately climbed higher into the sky, piercing through the clouds at incredible speed.

The thick gusts of wind were felt at once. The Dragon smirked and twisted its body around. Just like that, he could feel the man clinging to his back fall away into the air.

At that very moment, the other Dragon was waiting down below. Its mouth was open wide, revealing the dark light in its throat, now fully charged.

FIRE—!!!

A pillar of dark light shot out, tearing through the air and creating a gust of wind so fierce it was enough to send trees flying.

Up in the air, facing an attack that could destroy his human body in an instant, Julian looked at it.

’This is dangerous.’

Even Julian could feel how dangerous that attack was. So he didn’t hold back, and stretched his palm out toward the attack.

Kwaah—!

A giant green mirror appeared in four layers, each of extraordinary thickness, facing the attack head on.

BAAAM!!!!!

The impact of the attacks reached Julian. The tremendous explosion triggered small whirlwinds, and even made the air feel much hotter in the windy sky.

Dark smoke billowed and began to take over the surroundings. Without a hint of panic, Julian weighed his surroundings and the risks coming his way, and at last let out a small breath.

While still falling, sinking in a sea of dark smoke, Julian’s gaze went to the sky where the Dragon he had stood on earlier was.

His vision was dark, and Julian shouldn’t have been able to see, yet beyond that darkness, Julian could see red lines, something like red threads dancing between the Dragon’s body.

Without a flicker of hesitation, Julian returned his sword into the storage ring.

The sword vanished into fragments of pale light, leaving Julian without any defense.

After that, Julian reached his hand into the empty air. His Mana moved, manifesting in the empty air, forming a Bow made of Mana.

The Bow was blue and faintly glowing, almost as large as Julian’s own body. Its surface felt unreal, but Julian ignored all of that.

He touched the bowstring, and an arrow also made of Mana appeared. It was an arrow made of pure energy alone, showing a blue line that wriggled endlessly.

After that, Julian took aim. He wasn’t sure where to shoot, and relying on the red threads alone wasn’t enough.

So Julian closed his eyes, and faintly he began to sense a certain change.

It was a vision of the Dragon floating in the air, wings flapping, his face full of arrogance as though he were looking forward to Julian’s death after that shot.

With his lips curving slightly, Julian drew the bowstring deeper toward his chest.

Then, he released it.

Whistle—!

The sound of a whistling tearing through the air rang out. The Mana Julian possessed, which had become the arrow, shot out with the same destructive power, or even showed stronger destructive power.

Along its path, the sea of dark smoke split apart, restoring the clear light blue sky above, along with the view of a Dragon shielding his eyes from the blazing sun.

Julian’s arrow left a trail of bluish light along its route, and when it reached the Dragon, the Dragon desperately tried to dodge right away.

He twisted his body, but unless the Dragon had the ability to move the location of his scales, he would not survive at all.

"Damn you! How can you—"

Baaam—!

Spurt—!!!

The arrow pierced the underside of the Dragon, the area between his neck and chest, where there was a small gap that the scales didn’t cover.

Julian struck that area precisely, revealing a spray of black blood that now poured down toward the ground.

Down below, Julian turned and found the other Dragon’s face frozen in shock. He didn’t waste a moment, the Bow vanished from his grip, and his sword reappeared.

Afterward, Julian raised the sword above his head, still in free fall from the sky.

"I wonder, can a frozen Lizard be reheated and eaten?"

The thought flashed by, but only for a moment. It was just a ridiculous thought that came from nowhere.

Anyway, snow began to fall once again. Julian’s sword was coated in a thick blanket of ice that extended the blade, reaching two or three stories of a building.

The air froze around it, and amid the chaos that enveloped everything, with two Dragons staring at him in disbelief, Julian brought the sword down.

The wind whistled, the air split in the process, and a small blizzard formed and swallowed whatever lay not far from it.

"DON’T THINK I WILL JUST STAND BY AND WATCH."

At that moment, Julian heard a scream full of rage. He didn’t understand the words, but somehow he understood their meaning.

A giant Dragon hand appeared from within the swirling ice mist. The hand swept aside with extraordinary force, hurling the blizzard out to the surroundings.

The trees froze, the ground, the grass, everything in the surroundings froze in absolute silence.

There, Julian saw the Dragon at Rank-B, still in humanoid form, but with his hand having taken on a dragon’s shape, showing a hand and claws far larger than the Dragon’s own humanoid body.

Julian’s mouth opened slightly, but it soon formed a small smile on his face.

"I don’t know why, but right now, I feel rather full of strange power. Right?"

Coincidentally, there were still a few other powers he could try. And here was an enemy who wanted to kill Julian, the perfect enemy to serve as a testing target.

Strangely, Julian never felt even for a moment that he would lose.
