My Disciples Grind, I Get 100x Their Progress
Chapter 116: Egg 2
“Haaa….”
Ilunia let out a breath.
She rose from her bed, drenched entirely in sweat soaking her whole body. Her blindfold had slipped off, falling away and revealing her tightly closed eyes. Her breathing was ragged, her chest rising and falling hurriedly.
A small smile appeared on her face.
“Just surprising.”
Prophecies always came while Ilunia was asleep. But, sometimes, there were situations where a prophecy came so suddenly that Ilunia had to rush back to her dormitory and fall asleep immediately.
Like her situation right now. She had no clear marker, but it came through her skill, which sometimes seemed to whine and beg her to sleep immediately. At that point, Ilunia knew a prophecy would soon arrive.
And, this time, according to the prophecy she’d seen, in line with everything she’d done. So many puzzle pieces had successfully come together well. Something Ilunia had also done, when she traded with Aclyris, turned out to have been executed in a very precise and perfect way.
Now, what remained?
Ilunia had practically found several answers she needed. And, something that would come sooner or later had also found its own solution on its own.
In the end, everything now depended on her Master.
“That egg… shouldn’t be long now before it hatches,” Ilunia rose, trying to find her wardrobe, intending to change out of her damp clothes, while her thoughts kept spinning somewhere else entirely.
Joy swelled in her chest, something filled with a deep longing as her lips never stopped curving into a smile.
“I can’t wait, can I? To meet her.”
That was one of her anticipations after finally meeting Kina.
She couldn’t wait to meet the next one.
***
This world had always been incredibly fragile.
Even before the appearance of the Breach and the Invaders, the world had already been so fragile that the arrival of the Breach and the Invaders actually felt like a divine punishment and also the sole remaining hope to guide this fragile world into becoming something new, something better and sturdier.
Clarvis stared up at the high ceiling. He wore a dark cloth covering his body from neck to feet, even touching the ground.
That dark cloth was his special uniform. It had white patterns, along with a shimmering gold color around the edges of the fabric.
On his chest, an image of a sun with sharp-edged tips could be seen, showing a unique symbol that made it clear he came from that cult.
The Church of Ascension.
“Will our wait finally come to an end?”
The man looked up at the high ceiling. He raised his hand, slowly letting each finger and his palm block the sun, casting his face in shadow from his own hand.
Then, Clarvis clenched his fist, as though in his mind, he were grasping the sun itself, a sharply curving smile on his face.
“With Higher Beings, we will create a better world.”
His eyes narrowed, revealing a pair of dark eyes, swirling, forming a vortex filled with fanatical flashes.
With his breath held, Clarvis finally looked behind him. He was currently in the middle of a forest, specifically at a fortress tower long abandoned by humanity and civilization.
This was a remote place, and so far safe for him and the cult members to inhabit.
His gaze stopped there, inside a room with an open door. There, he saw an enormous egg, the size of an adult human.
It was just that the egg had long since cracked open, revealing scattered fragments of its shell across the floor.
Clarvis took one step, another step, and step by step as he entered that room.
Then, he glanced toward a bed revealing a girl sleeping soundly.
Her entire body was wrapped in white cloth. But, more than that white cloth, it was the Mana swirling around the girl that stood out the most.
The surrounding environment was affected by her Mana, creating an atmosphere so heavy that Clarvis began feeling pain in his chest.
His breath was torn from him, and a terrifying fear made him kneel and lower his head for no clear reason.
However, despite his fear, Clarvis had no intention of retreating. In fact, he smiled, filled with fanatical energy.
A girl with white hair so long it reached her slender waist, a small girl who seemed to have just been born, a small girl with two horns curving like a goat’s.
That was proof that whoever this girl in front of him was, she was clearly an Alien. Not just any Alien, but the type of Alien that came from a high species.
That girl was… the sole salvation Clarvis and his cult believed in.
A girl who would show them the way to find and seek the method to build this fragile world into something better.
Clarvis raised his hand, gripping the necklace he held, then, with his entire body trembling, he lowered his head even further.
He felt it clearly. A terrifying gaze, the terror coming from that girl as she opened her eyes and stared directly at him.
A pair of eyes colored pale white and gold with vertical predator pupils resembling a dragon’s.
Clarvis froze in silence, while the girl also said nothing, simply staying there, staring with an empty and listless expression.
After a moment, the girl blinked a few times, let out a dirty breath, and stared far outward.
“Carry me. Take me away.”
Her voice was small, like a listless and lazy whisper.
Clarvis flinched, then smiled with cold sweat and nodded.
“Yes… Most Sacred One.”
The girl paid no attention to anything Clarvis said. Whether it was how Clarvis addressed her, or how Clarvis stared at her with a flash of obsession and fanaticism.
None of it mattered.
The girl simply raised both her hands, then, Clarvis approached and carried her slowly and carefully.
“Where are we going…?”
The girl listened, and this time she stared back into the distance, before finally letting out a sigh.
Clarvis didn’t know what the girl was seeing or staring at, but none of it meant anything. Because, all he needed to do was follow her orders.
No matter how ridiculous they might be.
“Anywhere. I hate this place.”
And, because that was the Most Sacred One’s request, every cult member would move accordingly to her words.
