My Days Building A Harem At A Japanese Girls' High School
Chapter 48: Secretly Follow Him to Have a Look
She was startled by Haruka Himuro’s recollection.
Ruri Hosokawa’s face turned bright red, and her fists clenched tightly, yet she didn’t say a single word.
What was there to say? What could she say?
That guy was actually another abnormal martial artist just like Kaoru Amatsuka?
Looking back now, Ruri felt a sudden wave of lingering fear.
If Quillan really was a martial artist and she had treated him like that—even threatening to kick him out of St. Sakura—wasn’t she just courting death?
Then again, was this perverted guy really a martial artist? He didn’t look like one at all! Weren’t martial artists supposed to be like Kaoru Amatsuka, carrying a stern, stone-cold face all day long as if everyone owed her money? Looking at Quillan’s usual cheeky, smiling face, where was there even a trace of the demeanor a martial artist ought to have?
That night, Ruri tossed and turned in bed for hours, completely unable to fall asleep!
Because she had rushed over suddenly without a designated room or bed prepared for her, Ruri had no choice but to squeeze into the same room as Haruka. Haruka gave up the bed to Ruri while she herself slept on the tatami mat.
Eventually, Ruri managed to drift off to sleep. By the time she woke up again, it was already the next morning.
"Mmh, nice weather today!"
Upon waking, a smile appeared on Ruri’s face, looking as though the events of the previous night hadn’t affected her current mood in the slightest.
Greeting the first rays of morning sunlight, Ruri happily clapped her hands together, looking forward to a wonderful day ahead. It was only when she pulled out her phone that the sweet expression on her face instantly collapsed.
"Aah!" Ruri shrieked. "I-It’s almost 8:30!"
"Ruri-chan, what’s wrong?" Haruka’s voice called out from the living room.
Ruri hurriedly asked, "Haruka-chan, why are you still here? Didn’t you go to school?"
"Of course not!" Haruka replied cheerfully. "Today is Saturday!"
"Saturday..." Ruri let out a long breath of relief, realizing that her usual absentmindedness had struck again.
Getting out of bed, she brushed her teeth and freshened up in the bathroom. Ruri, who was naturally gorgeous even without a trace of makeup, stepped out of the bathroom shortly after. Seeing Haruka cleaning in the living room, Ruri asked curiously, "Haruka-chan, hasn’t that bastard gotten out of bed yet?"
"Master woke up a long time ago..."
Haruka answered happily, which sparked Ruri’s suspicion...
However, right after Ruri voiced her doubts, Haruka easily opened Quillan’s room—and indeed, there was no one inside!
"I couldn’t tell—that guy actually wakes up so early!" Ruri had originally thought she had finally found Quillan’s weakness so she could laugh at him!
In truth, Quillan really had gotten up early—at the break of dawn, when the sky was barely bright.
He had gone to sleep at around 11:30 the previous night and woke up at 6:00 in the morning, sleeping for six and a half hours, which was more than enough for him.
The reason for waking up early was to exercise.
Quillan had studied the his family’s martial arts manuals since childhood and had practically never stopped practicing. Naturally, coming to Japan was no exception.
So after getting up early, Quillan went out for a run, jogging all the way from the residential district through the bustling commercial street to the woods near the suburbs of Tokyo. There, he sat in meditation for a while and practiced a few sets of fist techniques before running back, soaked in sweat.
By the time Quillan returned to the residence, Haruka and Ruri had just finished making breakfast—fried eggs and noodles. Quillan didn’t stand on ceremony; he sat straight down and began to eat.
This action immediately earned Ruri’s dissatisfaction!
"Hey, you’re covered in sweat—how can you eat food like that?" Ruri had already said her "Itadakimasu" and started eating, so smelling Quillan’s sweaty odor naturally made her unhappy.
Quillan didn’t bother arguing with her. While eating, he said to Haruka, "I have to step out for a bit later. You two can eat lunch by yourselves!"
"Oh..." Haruka replied, not sounding very happy. She didn’t know what Quillan was going out to do, and while she wanted to ask, she felt conflicted, fearing that asking so brazenly might make Quillan unhappy as her master!
Quillan indeed had business to attend to. On his jog back that morning, he had received a call from Norika Harada. She hadn’t said much over the phone, only asking Quillan to get ready and head over to her place.
Without even thinking, he could guess it was related to Norika’s parents coming to Tokyo. It seemed it wasn’t just her parents—her cousin was coming along as well, and Norika seemed extremely wary of this cousin of hers.
After finishing breakfast, Quillan went to the bathroom to take a shower. Before doing so, he intentionally retrieved a set of formal clothes—a button-up shirt and a blazer—from his room’s closet and brought them into the bathroom.
This action caught Ruri’s attention. Sitting idly on the living room sofa while chatting with Haruka over in the kitchen, the young lady happened to notice Quillan carrying a set of very formal attire into the bathroom, which immediately made her suspicious.
Once Quillan went inside the bathroom, Ruri quickly trotted over to Haruka and said, "Haruka-chan, why didn’t you ask that bastard what he’s going out to do?"
Haruka smiled and said, "There’s no need!"
In fact, she had also been conflicted about asking Quillan where he was going for lunch, but considering her position, she felt she had no right to pry into his affairs. So at this point, Haruka had let it go.
However, Ruri leaned in mysteriously and said, "Haruka-chan, didn’t you see? That pervert just took a suit jacket and a white shirt into the bathroom. Dressing up so formally—could he be going to meet a girl?"
"A suit?" Haruka’s heart tightened, and a strange, aching sensation stung her nerves.
Ruri nodded and analyzed, "Haruka-chan, does this Quillan have a girlfriend here in Japan? That shouldn’t be possible, right? After all, he just arrived in Japan recently. His student file showed his entry date was just two days before school started! So, dressing up so formally... who on earth is he going to meet?"
"I..." Haruka shook her head with difficulty, her face turning pale as she murmured, "Ruri-chan, I don’t know!"
"Well, don’t you want to find out?" Ruri flashed a mysterious smile and whispered something right into Haruka’s ear. Haruka shook her head repeatedly in hesitation, but Ruri pressed on: "Haruka-chan, don’t be scared! We’ll just secretly follow him to have a look..."
