Chapter 91: Chapter 91: A Call of "Brother Hui

After thinking it through, Zhao Hui felt a sense of peace.

He sat quietly, waiting for Liu Haoran to pronounce his final sentence.

A dozen or so minutes later, Liu Haoran finally finished his work. He stretched languidly, completely at ease.

Then he said to Zhao Hui, "Ah Hui, don’t be so formal when you come here. Look, my assistant didn’t get you any water. There’s some over there, just help yourself."

He got up, grabbed a bottle of water, and handed it to Zhao Hui. Zhao Hui was a little stunned by the gesture. ’President Liu is treating me so well! But for my sister’s sake, it seems I’ll have to let him down.’

Liu Haoran glanced at his watch and stood up. "Bring the water with you. Let’s get going. Would you mind driving today?"

Zhao Hui stood up and asked in a somber tone, "President Liu, is this about Wansheng Square?"

Liu Haoran smiled. "Of course. We’re going to solve this very problem!"

Zhao Hui hesitated for a moment, then said decisively, "President Liu, I’m sorry, but I can’t go with you. I can submit my resignation letter today."

Liu Haoran stopped in his tracks and asked in surprise, "Why? And why would you resign?"

Zhao Hui said in a low voice, "I will never apologize to Peng Yu. I’d rather die."

"You think I’m taking you to apologize to Peng Yu? And because you’re unwilling, you feel like you’re a burden to the company, so you want to resign?"

Liu Haoran quickly understood what was going through his mind.

Zhao Hui nodded grimly. He truly loved this job, a job that had given his whole family hope. It seemed it just wasn’t meant to be.

’Maybe this is what they mean by not being worthy of one’s position. I don’t deserve any of this.’

Liu Haoran burst out laughing. He pointed at Zhao Hui in mock anger and said, "Who said anything about apologizing to Peng Yu? To hell with Peng Yu! We’re going to fight him to the bitter end! That’s right, to the bitter end!"

"Huh?" Zhao Hui’s head snapped up, a look of delighted surprise on his face. "President... President Liu, you’re not taking me to see Peng Yu?"

"Why would I go see him? He’s nobody’s favorite. I’m sick of the sight of him. I’m taking you to see President Chen Xiao!"

As Liu Haoran mentioned Chen Xiao, he deliberately watched for a change in Zhao Hui’s expression.

And indeed, Zhao Hui couldn’t hide his shock. ’See Chen Xiao? My brother-in-law, Chen Xiao?’

"What’s wrong, Ah Hui? Do you know President Chen?"

Zhao Hui nodded. "I’ve heard of him, but we’re not close."

’Looks like they’re related,’ Liu Haoran thought.

The GL8 business van pulled into the underground parking garage of Yunfeng Building. Liu Haoran smiled at Zhao Hui. "This is the most high-end office building in all of Jiangzhou!"

Zhao Hui watched the well-dressed office workers coming and going in the orderly, pristine garage, and couldn’t help but feel a sense of yearning.

A high-end office building meant that every square inch was worth a fortune, so the per-person office space inside wasn’t large. No general manager would have an office as outrageously spacious as Liu Haoran’s.

The real shock began on the 28th floor. The first thing he saw was sheer opulence—a wave of lavish, Chinese-style luxury washed over him.

The receptionist was already at her desk. Knowing they had an appointment with President Chen, she politely led Liu Haoran and Zhao Hui to the chairman’s office.

The chairman’s office and the general manager’s office were in opposite corners of the floor. The company wasn’t fully staffed yet.

The receptionist knocked on the door to the chairman’s office. A voice from inside called, "Come in!"

She swiped a key card to open the door and invited Liu Haoran and Zhao Hui inside.

The moment they stepped into the office, they were met with an air of nobility. The room was filled with mahogany furniture and complemented by solid hardwood floors.

Behind an enormous mahogany desk, Chen Xiao sat in an executive chair, exuding an aura of someone who could look down upon the whole world.

Seeing them enter, Chen Xiao quickly stood up and came over to greet them.

Liu Haoran stepped forward, bowed slightly, and shook Chen Xiao’s hand with both of his own.

When it was Zhao Hui’s turn, he felt awkward—more nervous than when he met his parents-in-law for the first time.

Chen Xiao was the first to smile. "Brother Hui!" he called out, extending his hand.

Then, he turned to Liu Haoran and said, "President Liu, you probably don’t know this, but Brother Hui is Xiangjun’s older brother."

Liu Haoran had vaguely suspected they were related, but he’d never imagined Zhao Hui was her actual brother. He was a little shocked, but also relieved that he had always treated Zhao Hui well and that their relationship was on good terms.

Zhao Hui’s palms were sweating from excitement. He had imagined this first meeting with his brother-in-law, Chen Xiao, countless times.

He just never expected him to be so unassuming. Hearing Chen Xiao call him "Brother Hui" made him feel like he was walking on air.

Chen Xiao beckoned them over to the tea table to sit down for a drink.

"We can chat this afternoon, and then have dinner upstairs tonight."

Liu Haoran said, "Whatever you arrange is fine with us."

The splendor of the office was beyond anything Zhao Hui could have imagined. The most luxurious office he’d ever seen was President Liu’s.

But compared to this, that was like the difference between a country attic and a grand mansion.

What surprised him even more was Liu Haoran’s attitude toward Chen Xiao. It was one of utter deference.

He sat to the side, at a complete loss for words, and could only sit ramrod straight and listen.

Chen Xiao took out some Fuding Silver Needle tea he had acquired and smiled. "Let’s have some white tea today. This stuff is pretty good. I bought it from a friend a few days ago. He sold it to me for over 30,000 yuan a pound, and he was still heartbroken to part with it, haha!"

Liu Haoran said politely, "I’ve never had tea this expensive before!"

Zhao Hui chuckled awkwardly. Liu Haoran had said exactly what he was thinking. ’So this is how everyone feels when they meet an important person.’

The way Liu Haoran was acting now was no different from how he himself had acted when he first met President Liu.

As Chen Xiao prepared the tea, Liu Haoran said, "President Chen, this is the most impressive office I’ve ever seen. It’s even grander than my own chairman’s office!"

Chen Xiao smiled. "This is Xiangjun’s office. She’s not here, so I’m just borrowing it for now."

Liu Haoran suddenly recalled the company name he saw upon entering the 28th floor: "Junxiao Capital Management Company."

"This company is also...?" Liu Haoran asked.

Chen Xiao nodded. "Yes, it’s also President Zhao’s."

Liu Haoran took it in stride. After all, Zhao Xiangjun already owned 32.5% of the Yino Group, an asset worth billions.

One more company on top of that just made him admire President Zhao’s capabilities even more; it wasn’t a complete shock.

It was a different story for Zhao Hui. He had always thought his sister was just a shopping guide and that his brother-in-law, Chen Xiao, was only moderately wealthy.

But seeing Chen Xiao in the flesh today, along with this enormous, luxurious office space, he realized he had grossly underestimated his brother-in-law’s power.

But from their conversation just now... ’This company belongs to my sister?’

This completely upended Zhao Hui’s understanding of the world. Of course, he didn’t think his sister had built this from the ground up. He understood this must be another grand gesture from his brother-in-law.

In truth, he was giving Chen Xiao too much credit. Zhao Xiangjun had actually stumbled into earning this capital management company herself. Chen Xiao had simply used funds from Zhao Xiangjun’s dedicated "blessing fund" to establish it.
