Chapter 331: Chapter 212: Everyone Comes to Disturb My Dao Heart (Part 2)
’50,000 a month is already really high!’
’Many department heads only get a year-end bonus of around 100,000!’
The HR manager stared at the number with envy. She had to admit, Xu Jia was now the hottest commodity in the Yinuo Hanjiang District—bar none!
As for Fang Qiang, for some unknown reason, President Liu had recently hired another business manager and put Fang Qiang in charge of only street-front shops.
But according to the Yino Group’s current strategy, shopping centers were the main focus of development. What future was there in street-front shops?
Everyone understood what this meant: Fang Qiang had been cast aside. The man never watched his mouth and had offended plenty of people at the company. As soon as they saw he’d lost favor, many of them eagerly started badmouthing him to Liu Haoran.
In fact, the HR manager had just seen Liu Haoran change Fang Qiang’s year-end bonus from 100,000 to 40,000 with her own eyes—less than what Xu Jia received!
She even suspected that Liu Haoran had simply taken the money that should have gone to Fang Qiang and given it to Xu Jia instead!
But no one would dare say a word. The district president had absolute authority over bonus allocation.
"You can leave now."
After making the change, Liu Haoran dismissed the HR manager. He pondered for a moment, then dialed Zhao Hui’s phone number.
He chatted with Zhao Hui almost every day. It wasn’t about work, but more like a conversation between good friends.
"President Hui! About Zhao Liang... do you think I should call President Chen and explain?"
Zhao Liang hadn’t even finished a full day of work before he ditched his post and left. When Liu Haoran found out, he tore the logistics manager a new one, blaming him for poor training. How could he have let such a "talent" run off!
The logistics manager didn’t dare to argue, but he was fuming inside. ’All I did was ask him to count some items, and he ran off because he thought it was too tiring. *That* guy is considered a "talent"? What the hell does that make me? A national hero?’
Liu Haoran had wanted to call Chen Xiao that very day. He wanted to explain the situation with Zhao Liang, but he also hoped to use it as an opportunity to get closer to President Chen.
But Zhao Liang had been arranged by Zhao Hui, so after some thought, Liu Haoran spoke to Zhao Hui first. Zhao Hui was surprisingly nonchalant. "If he’s not cut out for it, then forget it. Let him be!"
But was Liu Haoran upset about losing Zhao Liang? Of course not. He was upset about losing a member of the Zhao Family, and with it, a bridge to connect with President Chen and President Zhao.
He hadn’t heard from President Chen in a few days, and it made him feel a bit insecure, worried that President Chen might forget about him.
Zhao Hui could probably understand Liu Haoran’s feelings. He and Liu Haoran were in different situations. Given Zhao Xiangjun’s relationship, as long as Zhao Hui didn’t royally screw up, he had nothing to worry about regarding his future.
After all, Liu Haoran had only gotten familiar with Chen Xiao step-by-step through Zhao Hui’s help. Zhao Hui completely understood his insecurity.
"President Haoran, I think you can give President Chen a call now and then to report on how things are going. As for the Zhao Liang business, just forget it. President Chen doesn’t think highly of him anyway."
Zhao Hui treated him as a trusted friend. After all, back at the Yinuo Jiangzhou Branch, Liu Haoran had taken great care of him, whatever his reasons might have been.
When it came to understanding Chen Xiao, Liu Haoran was no match for Zhao Hui, which was precisely why he had called him in the first place.
He took Zhao Hui’s advice very seriously.
"President Hui, you should stop by the company for a visit when you’re not busy!"
Zhao Hui laughed. He wished he could split himself into three people right now. Although he was the Deputy GM of Junxiao Square, he was already doing the work of the General Manager.
Forget going out for a walk; he was spending his weekends working overtime at the office. He had no time to go anywhere.
But he felt fulfilled, because this wasn’t just a job—it was building an enterprise, a grand enterprise alongside Chen Xiao!
That was a sense of accomplishment money couldn’t buy.
Liu Haoran anxiously dialed Chen Xiao’s number. The line was busy.
Chen Xiao was at his wits’ end with these little demons. Ma Jing was insisting on giving him a cold compress. ’Is this something a damn cold compress can solve?’
’If Ma Jing actually puts her hands on me for a "cold compress," it’ll only get more swollen. She’s just making things worse!’
He got up and sat behind his executive desk, trying to get away from her. Ma Jing, however, was staring at his pants, looking thoughtful.
’Give him a lever and he could move the Earth. Brother Chen Xiao is a powerful man!’
Chen Xiao called Jin Wuxian. Whenever he couldn’t settle his mind, he would dive into work. Dealing with clients helped him forget everything else.
"Well, look what we have here. The sun must’ve risen in the west. You’re actually calling me, Chen Xiao? Have you finally come to your senses? Ready to come work for me?"
"I always wondered how you went blind. Now I know. You must’ve stared at the sun for too long..."
’Damn, that mouth of his is vicious.’ Jin Wuxian knew he couldn’t win a verbal sparring match against him, so he changed the subject. "What do you want? You planning on coming over to talk?"
"Yeah, I’m planning to head over."
"Hahaha! Chen Xiao, I knew you’d come crawling eventually! Only by joining me will you have found a truly enlightened master!"
"When the sun blinded you, did it fry your brain too? What were you doing staring at the sun anyway? Just begging to get screwed?"
"Fuck you! What’s that supposed to mean? Is that how you ask someone for a favor?"
"What am I asking you for?"
"Aren’t you coming here to see me?"
"No. I’m going to see your father, Chairman Jin Fu."
"Holy shit! You’ve got a lot of nerve! Do you know what league my old man is in? He’s so busy I barely ever see him, and you, a salesman, want to meet with the chairman? Who’s the crazy one here, you or me?"
’His voice was a little deafening.’ I held the phone slightly away from my ear. ’He says his own father is always running around like crazy, and then asks *me* who’s lost their mind.’
"Just tell me if you can make it happen or not. If you can’t, you’re of no use to me. Stop wasting my time and money."
"Holy shit, Chen Xiao! Knowing you is my damn misfortune! Do I fucking owe you something?"
