Chapter 328: Chapter 211: Love for Home and Country (Part 2)

He replied irritably, "I think it’s fine. If you’re so worried, why don’t you try it out yourself sometime!"

Lin Ya regretted sending the message the moment she hit send. This strong career woman, usually known for her composure in the workplace, was now practically incoherent.

When she saw Chen Xiao’s reply, she let out a startled cry, realizing just how problematic her message had been.

’But President Chen’s reply... He told me to try it. How am I supposed to try *that*?’

She glanced around at her office’s layout. ’Is President Chen hinting that I should buy a sofa and... play some poker?’

Ma Jing pushed the door open and walked in, just in time to see Chen Xiao’s face flushed beet red.

"Brother Chen Xiao, you shouldn’t get so absorbed in your games. Holding it in like that will give you bladder problems."

Chen Xiao’s head throbbed. ’You’re all worried about one problem, but my actual problem is the complete opposite.’

’You’re all afraid it won’t stand at attention, but I’m worried about it *always* being at attention!’

Seeing Chen Xiao remain silent, Ma Jing walked closer to get a better look. "Oh my, Brother Chen Xiao," she said suddenly, "why is your leg so swollen? There’s a huge bulge!"

Before Chen Xiao could react, his diligent little assistant continued, "Let me feel it. Should I get you a hot water bottle for it?"

Chen Xiao had no time to react before her hand landed on his thigh!

Her eyes went wide. Chen Xiao’s eyes went wider.

"Are you going to let go? Can you feel the fury?"

’Feel it? This fury is practically piercing the heavens!’

Ma Jing didn’t remove her hand. Instead, she gave it a few squeezes before standing up. "Okay, I’ve examined it. A hot compress is no good. This needs dry ice! I’ll go look for some and be right back!"

Just then, the internal line rang. Ma Jing rushed to answer it. "Ah, President Feng is available now?"

"Tell her to wait a moment!" Chen Xiao snapped. ’How can I go out like this?’

Ma Jing froze. ’Making President Feng wait? How assertive!’ But thinking of his... delicate situation, she could only say to Feng Feifei’s assistant, "Chen Xiao still has a few things to wrap up. He’ll be over in a bit. Please ask President Feng to wait."

’Getting arrogant because he’s favored!’ After hanging up, Feng Feifei’s assistant shook her head. ’A subordinate whose accomplishments outshine his master’s, now acting with such arrogance from being doted on... He’s courting death!’

’Such a pity. Chen Xiao is so handsome. I wonder how much longer he’ll last at this company.’

She knocked on President Feng’s door.

"Come in!"

"Where’s Chen Xiao?"

Before the assistant could speak, Feng Feifei, not seeing Chen Xiao, already asked anxiously.

"Chen Xiao said he still has a few things to finish up. He asked if you could please wait a moment."

As she spoke, she watched Feng Feifei’s expression.

Feng Feifei replied nonchalantly, "I see."

"Should I arrange for the next person’s report in the meantime?"

"No need. We’ll wait for Chen Xiao."

Closing the door behind her, the assistant let out a sigh of relief. ’Chen Xiao really is the president’s favorite. The imperial grace is truly boundless!’

"Brother Chen Xiao, what do we do now?"

Chen Xiao retorted irritably, "You’re asking me? This is your mess!"

He couldn’t entirely blame Ma Jing, though. It was Gao Yue, Lin Ya, the Endurance Value, and the system all ganging up on him!

Feng Feifei was waiting, and Ma Jing was starting to get anxious. "What do we do? Should I help you?"

Chen Xiao sensed her ill intentions. ’You’re not thinking of taking advantage of my predicament, are you?’

He said angrily, "You, help me? This wouldn’t be settled in anything less than three hours!"

"No way! I’ll just go find some ice. You can put it on, and you’ll be fine, right?"

Chen Xiao was stunned. ’This is how you’d ’help’ me? And after I’ve treated you so well! Do you have any humanity?’

He waved his hand, shooing her out. He didn’t care what she went to find; he wasn’t going to use it. But having her out of the room was better than having her in it. Her presence only stoked the flames further; it served no other purpose!

Time to chant the Purifying Heart Spell.

’Amitabha Buddha...’

’Ineffective!’

’The Three Pristine Daoist Monarchs...’

’Ineffective!’

’Xu Jun...’

’Huh. Mission accomplished!’

’President Xu Jun really is a lucky charm. I’ll have to tell Xu Wu to add 500 to his monthly salary as compensation for being on my mind so often.’

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK.

’Hm? Who’s knocking?’ "Come in!"

"Brother Chen Xiao, can I have your banana?"

Qiao Xin wore a blue work dress, the hemline revealing her pale, slender calves.

"I’d advise you to come back later. If you want to eat now, you’d better be prepared for a three-hour meal, minimum..."

Qiao Xin didn’t understand. Chen Xiao said irritably, "Come back at noon. I’m going to see President Feng in a minute!"

’This vixen is bolder than anyone. I can’t let her stay here!’

’Can I even do this job anymore? I used to think this lifestyle was so chic and carefree!’

’I’ve worked up a sweat all morning. Outsiders only see me living the high life, but they have no idea how much I have to *toil*!’

’Now that I’ve finally calmed down, I’d better hurry and see Feng Feifei!’

Feng Feifei wasn’t sitting behind her desk, but had moved to the reception area.

She preferred chatting with Chen Xiao like a friend; it made for a better atmosphere.

Tea was already brewed for Chen Xiao—his favorite white tea.

He didn’t feel the need to be formal with her. After all, they had stood shoulder-to-shoulder and even embraced in the past.

"You’re so exhausted these days. You need to hire more people, and fast. How can your body possibly handle you doing everything yourself in such a large company?"

Feng Feifei’s eyes lit up. "Chen Xiao, you care so much about me!"

Chen Xiao hummed in agreement.

"Then why don’t you come and help me?"

"Pretend I didn’t say anything. Let’s start over... President Feng, this is great tea!"

Feng Feifei huffed coquettishly. "You lazy oaf!"

"A lazy man has his own lazy luck. If I weren’t lazy, where would all our orders come from?"

It was a statement that defied logic yet aligned with reality, and it sounded utterly absurd.

Feng Feifei was already aware of Chen Xiao’s current method for securing orders: every week, the front desk would collect information on potential clients who called in.

Of course, this only applied to clients who specifically requested Chen Xiao. Ma Jing would then follow up, organize their information, confirm the order value, and have those who met the criteria come in to sign their contracts all at the same time: 11 AM the following Tuesday.

You wouldn’t even dare write about such a method of doing business in a novel, and yet, he had actually pulled it off.
