"You heard me."

"West, we’ve got ruins scheduled—"

"Cancel them."

"But—"

"Cancel them."

His tone left no room for argument causing Jax to sigh. "Alright."

"And keep Nina here as well."

"Understood."

West hung up afterwards. He would be placing them on the bench for now.

Until Aria was found, nobody important to him was leaving Shadow Reapers headquarters without his permission.

He looked down at the list again and then remembered someone.

"Aunt Mirabel," his eyes widened slightly as he immediately reached for his phone.

Mirabel had lived in the neighborhood that the mafia provided for them all this time. It wasn’t particularly dangerous but since she had no true affiliations to the mafia, whoever was responsible for Aria’s disappearance could still go after her.

He called one of his men. "Go to the address I’m about to send you. Pick up a lady known as auntie mirabel and bring her here."

"Yes, sir."

"Immediately?"

"Immediately."

"Understood."

West placed the phone down.

He wasn’t going to sit around waiting for another attack.

He would move everyone important to him into one location. It would be easier to look after them that way.

---

Several hours later, West’s parents arrived.

The moment he saw them step through the entrance of Shadow Reapers headquarters, he walked over himself.

His mother looked around nervously. "West, what’s happening?"

"Nothing you need to worry about."

His father frowned. "That’s not what it looks like."

West smiled. "I’m just making sure you’re safe."

His mother studied his face. "You look worried. Are you sure everything is fine?"

West’s smile faded slightly. "I’m handling it."

She reached up and touched his cheek. "You always say that."

West chuckled. "Because I always am."

His parents were escorted toward the residential section of the headquarters.

West watched until they disappeared before returning to his office.

His gaze landed on the list again and he focused on the last name left... Liz.

West hadn’t forgotten her. In fact, he had thought about her several times.

After everything that happened with her boss, he’d made sure she was protected.

But this was different, Aria had been taken which meant someone was actively targeting people around him.

West reached for his phone wanting to call her when...

BZZZT!

His phone vibrated.

West glanced at the screen noticing an incoming call from one of the men he’d sent to retrieve Mirabel.

He immediately answered. "Status?"

For half a second, there was only static, until...

"Sir!"

A scream erupted in the background causing West’s expression to change instantly. "What’s happening?"

"Sir, we’re—"

Another explosion sounded and the man’s voice became frantic.

"Under attack!"

West stood. "Where?"

"The location you gave—"

West eyes turned cold as he stared at the phone.

Without wasting another second, his body began to transform.

His muscles expanded as bluish fur erupted across his skin with glowing eyes and sharp fangs.

Within moments, he had become the Voidfang Predator.

West looked toward the window and disappeared in the next instant.

---

One kilometer away... a glowing footprint appeared in the middle of an empty street.

West materialized above it and the instant his feet touched the ground, another footprint appeared ahead.

He vanished and reappeared another kilometer away. Immediately he reappeared, he vanished again, continously crossing 1km per second.

A trail of teleportation was left across the city as through the city as West moved faster than any ordinary vehicle could hope to travel.

His senses expanded as he moved, focused on only one thing... aunt Mirabel.

The footprints began appearing one after the other in quick succession. West wasn’t even bothering to hide anymore.

He was moving too quickly for most people to comprehend.

A few pedestrians looked upward only to see a strange bluish figure vanish between buildings.

His phone remained in his hand as he tried calling the squad but there was no response.

West’s eyes narrowed. "I’m coming."

The city seemed to bend around him as he tore through it.

And somewhere ahead... West could already hear distant explosions.

His enhanced senses picked up screams, metal tearing and concrete breaking.

"Protect Madam Mirabel!" A loud voice rang out.

West’s accelerated as swiftly as he could.

A footprint appeared on the rooftop of a nearby building and he materialized above it.

Below him, chaos had erupted.

Several Shadow Reapers vehicles had been overturned and smoke filled the street.

His men were fighting desperately and surrounding them... were several figures clad in black outfit and masks.

They were all awakened...

West’s gaze immediately locked onto the center of the battlefield.

There stood auntie Mirabel, surrounded by Shadow Reapers members.

She was alive but she looked terrified.

West’s glowing eyes swept across the battlefield and for a brief moment, everything seemed to slow down... including the smoke drifting through the street.

When he saw the masked figures surrounding aunt Mirabel and the shadow Reapers squas, his expression instantly hardened.

One of the Shadow Reapers members closest to Mirabel was already engaged with three of the attackers. He threw a glowing punch at the nearest masked man, forcing him backward, then immediately followed with a kick.

For a moment, it looked as though he had gained the advantage when another masked figure appeared behind him.

"Behind you!"

Unfortunately, he didn’t react quickly enough...

BAM!

The attacker slammed a fist into the Shadow Reaper’s back, launching the man several meters through the air, crashing against the side of an overturned vehicle.

"Get up!" another Shadow Reaper shouted.

But the masked attackers weren’t interested in fighting for the sake of fighting.

They had one objective... Aunt Mirabel.

Clearing the encirclement of Shadow Reapers members, one of the masked figures suddenly rushed forward.

Mirabel barely had time to turn. "Wait—!"

The masked figure grabbed her around the waist, lifted her effortlessly, and threw her over his shoulder.

"Put me down!" Mirabel struggled.

The attacker didn’t even slow down.

"GET HER!" Several other masked figures immediately formed a perimeter around him, becoming an impenetrable moving wall.

Whenever a Shadow Reaper member tried to approach, one of the masked men intercepted them.

Punches, kicks and even sometimes shockwaves rebound were sent out, keeping the rescuers away.

The group began moving toward a vehicle parked on another street.

West’s eyes widened. "Oh, no you don’t."

A glowing footprint suddenly materialized directly in front of the fleeing group and before the masked figures could register what was happening...

Twwwhiiihhh~

A bluish silhouette appeared above it.

The masked figures stared at him as West slowly raised its head.

For a second, even the surrounding battle seemed to stop.

One of them whispered, "A tier 2..."

West’s eyes locked onto the man carrying Mirabel. "You made one mistake."

His fist pulled backward. "You touched my family."

BOOM!

He sent a punch hurling at the masked figure, launching him backward like a projectile.

Mirabel flew from his shoulder, rising more than twenty feet into the air. "Ahhh!"

West’s eyes widened but before he could move, the remaining masked figures swarmed him.

One grabbed his arm, another wrapped around his waist, another locked onto his leg while the others all grabbed different areas of his body in order to pin him down.

"Hold him!"

"Don’t let him move!"

The masked figures held him back with everything they had while one of them ran toward the airborne Mirabel.

West’s eyes narrowed as the figure suddenly jumped whilst another masked man crouched.

The first figure stepped onto his back, using him as a platform, before launching himself higher.

Then another masked man moved underneath and the figure stepped onto him as well, in no time the attacker reached Mirabel mid air.

His arms wrapped around her just before she could hit the ground. "Got her!"

West’s anger reached its limit at this point as the inside of his mouth began glowing.

The masked men holding him suddenly noticed. "Wait..."

A brilliant energy gathered within his jaws.

"...what is he doing?"

West’s eyes burned brighter before suddenly...

BOOOOOOM!

A concentrated violet beam erupted from his mouth and the masked figures surrounding him were blasted away simultaneously.

Bodies went flying in every direction, crashing into walls, rolling across the pavement and even slamming straight through the windshields of vehicles in the surrounding.

The figure carrying Mirabel had already landed.

He immediately activated a strange device on his wrist which emitted a high-pitched ringing.

WHOOSH!

His speed suddenly increased as he sprinted toward a waiting vehicle while carrying Mirabel.

West stepped forward while following him with his eyes.

He tried to use his footprint teleportation but unfortunately, it was on cooldown. "Damn it."

West clicked his tongue as the vehicle’s engine roared to life.

The masked figure carrying Mirabel jumped inside and slammed the doors shut.

The vehicle accelerated instantly, speeding off into the distance.

West stood motionless for half a second before his eyes narrowed.

"Fine... the hard way..."

A golden radiance suddenly erupted around his body, enveloping his blueish fur in brilliant sunlight.
