Mu Yan despaired, feeling as though he were seeing them for the very first time. "You're all beyond saving!"

The Martial Lords confined Mu Yan and the others, casting them into the depths of the Origin Land. The rest turned their attention toward the Black Sea.

"Heaven and earth are undergoing great change. The Black Sea's power is fading. We can enter at last."

"The worlds of the Mountain-Sea Scroll lie within the Black Sea."

"To save time, let's just storm the Mountain-Sea Scrolls and slaughter the mortals, then capture the fragments and deliver them!"

"If we wait until they finish killing each other, how long would that take? Besides, what if the chosen ones in the true world grow fond of their parallel selves and refuse to kill them? It is better if we do it ourselves."

A Titled Martial Lord laughed boisterously. "The Heavenly Sovereign is gone. There is no one left in this world who can stop us!"

Even if Qi Yuan had made arrangements and left his Nascent Souls behind, they couldn't remain in the Origin Land. He couldn't possibly hide anyone in the Black Sea either. The Titled Martial Lord thrust his hand into one of the Mountain-Sea Scrolls. The others also scattered and began searching for more entry points.

On the riverbank, Green Pearl's expression shifted violently. "That is..."

A crack had split open in the sky above. From within it, a terrifying, feral claw reached through as though trying to rend the world asunder. People trembled, their faces ashen with terror.

Green Pearl gritted her teeth, brimming with killing intent. "That's a Martial Lord. A legendary Titled Martial Lord!"

Beside her, Wang Yuanyu appeared relatively composed, albeit slightly dejected. "Such a shame. The Mountain-Sea Scrolls haven't finished converging, and it seems everything is going to end already?"

She seemed to know a great deal and understood her own fate clearly. Her only regret was that the Mountain-Sea Scroll hadn't merged in time, preventing her from seeing Qi Yuan and receiving the black silk stockings he'd promised her. She had promised to put them on and show him.

Green Pearl snarled, roaring, "No! I refuse to accept this fate! Blood Slaughter Staff, I need your strength!"

At her cry, the river before them turned red, and a blood-red staff appeared. It was a vivid, violent crimson, exuding an ominous aura. After all, it had once belonged to the Red Staff Demon Butcher.

A massive blood-red staff streaked forward without hesitation, hurtling toward the giant claw in the sky. Blood-red light flooded the air and the skies turned red.

The collision rang out like the shattering of the sky and the collapse of the earth.

Blood trickled from the corners of Green Pearl's eyes. She gazed despairingly at the claw. "Master... I'm sorry. Your disciple is still too weak. I haven't grasped even a trace of your true essence."

The Titled Martial Lord above showed a flicker of surprise. "So you can actually unleash Martial Lord-level power within the Mountain-Sea Scroll? What a curious red staff."

He dismissed Green Pearl with a glance and let his gaze settle on Wang Yuanyu. "I'm in luck today. I found you right away. Saves me from having to comb through an anthill one creature at a time."

Green Pearl shouted, "If my Master were here, you would not dare to be so arrogant!"

The Titled Martial Lord laughed with confidence. "Hmph. You are but a mere mortal from within a Mountain-Sea Scroll. Do you even know the disparity between us? Even if your master appeared, how could they stop me? I am unstoppable!"

It had been a long time since he'd bothered conversing with something so insignificant.

Wang Yuanyu said quietly, "Your target is me. Take me, and let the others go."

The Titled Martial Lord shook his head. "Dong Jun has shown mercy in letting all of you exist this long. Now, it is time for you to repay that grace... Die, all of you!"

With a sneer, his enormous, white-bone claw swept toward Wang Yuanyu.

At that very moment, Ning Tao’s cold, clear voice rang directly beside the Titled Martial Lord's ear. "My husband rather likes this staff. He has mentioned it to me more than once, and you've dirtied it. ...Shouldn't you atone with your death?"

The Titled Martial Lord's eyes contracted sharply.

Out of nowhere, a woman in a black dress had appeared before him. She was tiny and delicate, with skin as pale as snow, yet her voice was as cold as frost. A mist seemed to drift around her, obscuring her face and making it impossible to tell where exactly she stood.

Caution flooded the Titled Martial Lord's heart, along with genuine confusion. "You... who are you?"

Ning Tao smiled sweetly, before glancing at Green Pearl and Wang Yuanyu. "I am Qi Yuan's little bride."

Then, she extended a single slender finger forward. Though the Titled Martial Lord’s hair had been white to begin with, he felt as though he had lived through endless ages in a single breath. He began to rot and his mind turned hazy.

The Titled Martial Lord wore an expression of pure terror. "Time power?! Who are you, really?!"

Ning Tao flicked her wrist. "My husband always says that those who don't bathe should be planted underground!"

The Titled Martial Lord dissolved in an instant, having died of old age.
