My College Teacher is My Children's Mom
Chapter 1222 - 1222: Yu Xi, I Heard You Almost Blew Up the Kitchen Just Now?
Lin Feng patted her on the head, then spoke politely and gently to the two aunts.
"You two aunts, don't bother getting serious with Zhang Yuxi."
"She's actually even worse than this at home."
"Today is already considered pretty good. I'm grateful she didn't manage to get you hurt or anything."
These words were clearly saying that Zhang Yuxi's cooking skills were awful.
She had just been feeling comforted by Lin Feng, but the moment she heard what he said, she immediately started thumping his chest with her little fists.
She couldn't help complaining, "How can you talk about me like that? What do you mean I'm even worse at home? I am not! It's just that the appliances at home aren't the same as the ones here at Grandpa's, so I'm not used to them, that's all."
"That's why I almost blew up the kitchen. How can you say that about me? I'll go back and cook a meal right now, and I definitely won't recreate that apocalyptic scene in the kitchen ever again."
The two aunts couldn't help bursting into laughter. "Hahaha, didn't expect Yu Xi to admit it herself—sounds like the kitchen really used to look like the aftermath of a disaster when she cooked."
"Looks like Lin Feng really is a perfect, twenty-four-filial-boyfriend who takes everything on himself."
"Whether it's cooking, doing housework, or earning money to support his wife."
"Look at your two uncles; they're nothing like Lin Feng."
Hearing the two aunts teasing her like that, Zhang Yuxi got shy again and stomped her foot.
"Aunts, please stop already. If you keep this up, I won't dare come over next time."
Seeing that she really was embarrassed, the two of them didn't say anything more.
Anyway, the kitchen had more or less been tidied up; after dinner they'd just have the helpers come and clean it once more.
It's not like they were really going to do all the housework themselves; they were only helping cook a few dishes.
"Alright, alright, hurry and go out."
"Don't make your grandpa worry about you."
"Otherwise, we as your aunts will get a serious scolding from your grandpa."
Lin Feng's two aunts joked.
They said it because they really did feel sorry for Lin Feng and Zhang Yuxi, and wanted the two of them to head out; there really wasn't much left to do.
They figured in half an hour dinner would be ready.
Zhang Yuxi held Lin Feng's hand as they walked out, and she couldn't resist poking his cheek with her little finger.
"This is all your fault."
"Why did you say that in front of my aunts just now?"
"You totally ruined my image."
Lin Feng knew this little girl never liked people bringing up things that embarrassed her, but she had just been way too cute.
If he didn't use this as an example, Yu Xi would probably just gloss over the whole thing; he did it because he wanted her not to casually charge into the kitchen in the future.
That place, once Yu Xi barged in, would immediately turn into a battlefield with chaos running wild; he really didn't want her going back in there.
So he'd had no choice but to resort to that method.
"Alright, alright, wifey, I know you're mad. How about when we go back, I let you 'tidy up' again, okay?"
There was something very suggestive in Lin Feng's tone.
When Zhang Yuxi heard that, she couldn't help rolling her eyes.
But she still answered in a super playful, cute way, "I'm not going back. I'm sleeping at Grandpa's tonight; you can decide if you want to go home alone."
After she said that—
Lin Feng wasn't scared at all; he even replied proudly,
"Shows what you know. Just now Grandpa said he wants to keep me here and teach me how to fish. So it's not just you staying over these two days—I'm staying too."
"We'll go back after this weekend is over."
Anyway, in this half-year they didn't have that much free time; now that it was the holidays, wanting to stay a couple more days was no big deal.
But when Zhang Yuxi heard Lin Feng deliberately bickering with her like that, she wasn't very happy and walked over to Zhou Sanqiang.
"Yu Xi, I heard you almost blew up the kitchen just now?"
Hearing Zhou Sanqiang's words, Zhang Yuxi lowered her head, a bit embarrassed.
"Grandpa, that…"
"Was an accident, hehehe…"
Zhang Yuxi gave an awkward but still polite little laugh.
He glanced at Lin Feng, then couldn't help saying to her, "Silly girl, just leave that kind of thing to Lin Feng in the future!"
"Lin Feng's cooking is so good anyway. Can't you just be good and eat?"
"You've got a ready-made master chef at home—why insist on cooking yourself?"
"These days, if you're still hoping to find a boyfriend better than Lin Feng, Grandpa thinks you could carry ten lanterns and still not find your way."
Zhou Sanqiang said with a hearty laugh.
Uh...
Zhang Yuxi actually had no way to refute that, so she just glared at Lin Feng.
Lin Feng hurried over and poured the two of them each a cup of tea.
"Okay, okay, for Grandpa's sake, can you give me a little face?"
Picking up Lin Feng's cue, Zhou Sanqiang spoke, and then Zhang Yuxi followed along, nodding.
"Fine, for Grandpa's sake I won't argue with you. But when we go back I'm still going to learn to cook. I don't believe that by the time I graduate college, I still won't be able to make a decent meal."
When Lin Feng heard that, he almost crushed the cup in his hand.
Oh god, his wife was great in every way—except she was way too stubborn.
It was obvious she wasn't cut out for cooking, yet she insisted on being this persistent.
There was really no need for it.
But since she'd already set up her flag, how could he stop her?
Beside them, Zhou Sanqiang glanced over. Seeing Lin Feng's extremely troubled expression, he couldn't help secretly chuckling to himself.
You had to know, this grandson of his, Lin Feng, was good at everything, like he'd never really taken any hits in life, so of course he had a few slightly mischievous thoughts.
Grandfather and grandson chatted a bit more, then Lin Feng led Yu Xi to the dining table.
The table was full of beautiful, mouthwatering dishes.
Lin Feng very unceremoniously picked up his chopsticks, took a chunk of rich, tender fish, and put it in Zhang Yuxi's plate.
"Here, eat more."
Grandpa Zhou Sanqiang saw his grandson and future granddaughter-in-law getting along so well.
He stroked his beard with a grin and also picked up a piece of fish for his wife, Lin Feng's grandma.
"Here, eat more."
"It's thanks to Lin Feng that I could wake up this time."
"But it's thanks to you too, for always taking care of this old man."
Lin Feng's grandma smiled, a rare hint of shyness appearing on her kindly face.
"We're already this old; what's the point of saying stuff like that?"
But Grandma was still very happy as she ate the piece of fish her old man had given her.
