Chapter 855: It’s Just The Beginning

Chapter 855: It’s Just The Beginning

“Oh? Look who finally showed up—the arrogant Princess of the Golden Lion Empire,” Mireya sneered, her cold gaze landing on Lindsey. “And just look at her face… she’s absolutely furious.”

Mireya slowly turned her head toward Lindsey, her expression hardening in an instant. Her eyes dropped to the blade pointed at her neck, and a mocking scoff escaped her lips.

“Don’t point that little toy at me. It’s pointless.” Her voice dripped with disdain, her smug smile openly humiliating Lindsey before the entire Grand Hall.

“Y-You… YOU BITCH!!” Lindsey roared, her whole body trembling with unbridled fury. “How dare you mock me again?!”

Blinded by rage, the princess lunged forward, her sword raised high and aimed straight at Mireya’s throat.

Her body erupted with surging mana, and the blade glowed with a piercing blue light—it wasn’t just any weapon, it was a legendary sword.

But Mireya? She remained utterly calm. Her stance didn’t waver, not even slightly. She didn’t so much as blink at the incoming attack, her soft smile never leaving her face.

To her, Lindsey was nothing more than a child throwing a tantrum. A mere mortal could not possibly harm her.

“DIE, YOU BITCH!!” Lindsey shrieked, her blade singing as it cleaved through the air, carrying enough force to tear through steel.

Her grin widened with anticipation. Mireya hadn’t moved an inch, hadn’t even tried to dodge. In Lindsey’s mind, she could already see the arrogant Queen’s severed head rolling across the floor.

’Good… stay still. Die for me already!’ she thought, her expression twisting into a maniacal smile.

But the moment the glowing blade made contact with Mireya’s neck—

CLANG!

A deafening metallic crack reverberated through the Grand Hall. Sparks burst in the air as the legendary sword shattered in an instant. The tip of the broken blade clattered to the marble floor, sliding across the surface with a screeching hiss.

Lindsey’s eyes went wide with horror. She stumbled backward, her breath catching in her throat as she stared at the broken hilt still trembling in her grip.

“H-How… Impossible…” she stammered, her voice trembling. Her face drained of color, frozen in shock, as she stared at the shattered remains of the weapon once considered indestructible.

Her legendary sword—her pride—had broken the instant it touched Mireya’s neck.

“H-How could this happen… it’s impossible!!” Princess Lindsey shrieked, her voice breaking from shock.

Emperor Raghar instantly rose from his throne, his eyes bulging wide as he stared at Mireya in disbelief, his entire body trembling. He could not comprehend what had just happened.

The Grand Hall fell into complete silence for a heartbeat—then erupted into chaos.

“I-Impossible… how could Princess Lindsey’s legendary sword break against that woman’s neck?!”

“This can’t be real… someone tell me what just happened!”

“No way… this must be fake! That woman must have tampered with the blade!”

“Ridiculous! That sword could slice through boulders like butter! How could it shatter against flesh?!”

Voices filled the vast hall in a storm of confusion and fear. Everyone had witnessed it with their own eyes, yet none dared to believe what they had seen.

Princess Lindsey stood frozen, staring at the broken hilt in her hand. Her lips trembled, her body shook, and her breathing quickened as reality settled in. Her proud, irreplaceable legendary sword was now nothing but useless scrap metal.

Slowly, she lifted her head. Her eyes, bloodshot with rage and humiliation, locked onto Mireya.

The more she stared at her, the more her fury ignited, burning away her reason. The humiliation of failing—and worse, failing so publicly before her parents and the entire court—drove her nearly mad.

“YOU!!” Lindsey screamed, pointing the jagged remains of her blade at Mireya. “What the hell did you do to my sword?!”

Mireya let out a cold, mocking laugh, stepping forward without the slightest trace of fear.

“Me? What did I do?” she taunted, tilting her head. “You swung your toy at me. I didn’t lift a finger. I didn’t move an inch. And yet… your so-called legendary sword shattered like cheap glass.”

Her smirk deepened as she took another step closer.

“Seems to me your sword was never legendary to begin with. Just worthless junk dressed in a pretty glow.”

“N-No… that’s impossible…” Lindsey’s voice quivered. Her knees wobbled, her grip on the broken sword tightening as if refusing to accept reality. “My sword can’t be broken… it’s… it’s impossible!”

Her wide eyes trembled with disbelief, glistening with shame and fear.

But Mireya only closed the distance, her aura pressing down like a storm. Without warning, she raised her hand—

SLAP!

A deafening crack echoed through the Grand Hall. Lindsey’s head snapped to the side as Mireya’s slap landed with merciless force, sending her body crashing through the air.

BANG!

She slammed into the polished floor, rolling several meters before skidding to a stop.

Gasps tore through the chamber. Eyes widened. Jaws dropped.

Even Emperor Raghar and Empress Lindy froze in place, their faces pale with shock.

Their daughter—the proud Princess of the Golden Lion Empire—had been slapped and sent flying before their very eyes.

Princess Lindsey landed a few meters away from Mireya, her swollen face twisted in pain as she coughed up blood from the impact.

The slap had been so powerful that it dislocated her jaw, making her wince before everyone. She looked pale, as though she was about to collapse from the agony.

“LINDSEY!! My daughter!!”

Emperor Raghar and Empress Lindy shouted in unison, immediately rushing to her side. They caught her in their arms, their tears flowing uncontrollably.

“H-How could this happen?? How did my sword break??” Princess Lindsey muttered weakly, her voice barely audible to her grieving parents.

Emperor Raghar’s fury erupted at the sight of his daughter’s state after being struck by Mireya. To him, it was a blatant humiliation.

’I won’t forgive Mireya for this… never! I’ll never forgive her!’ he trembled with rage as he held Lindsey close.

Yuan and his wives watched the scene with amused expressions, their interest growing. The play was becoming more entertaining, and Mireya was already stepping into the final act.

She walked closer to Emperor Raghar and Empress Lindy, who were holding their daughter with regret and shame clouding their eyes.

“Is this the daughter you’ve raised? Someone who cares nothing for others and acts however she pleases? A delusional fool who believes the world revolves around her… a complete disgrace.” Mireya’s voice was crystal clear, her words aimed to crush Lindsey into pure despair.

As she circled around them, she continued, “She is unfit to be called a princess. She acts like anything but royalty. Just because I refused to sell my potions, she even dared to send assassins after me… how absurd is that, don’t you think?”

“Do you expect me to stay silent after what your precious daughter did? Do you think I fear your empire? Absolutely ridiculous!” Mireya laughed, her mocking chuckle echoing throughout the Grand Hall.

Everyone inside the hall trembled as their faces turned pale. The air grew heavier, colder, and a sharp chill crept down their spines.

Emperor Raghar lifted his head to glare at Mireya, his eyes blazing with murderous intent.

“Queen Mireya, is this why you came here? To torment my daughter like this?!” he roared, his control slipping.

“Torture?” Mireya scoffed coldly, her lips curling into a smirk. After a moment of silence, she added, “I haven’t even started yet. Besides… I’ve also uncovered the dirty little business you’ve been secretly running in your empire.”

As soon as Emperor Raghar heard this, his expression froze, his face turning pale. Cold sweat began to bead on his forehead as Mireya openly dragged his shady dealings into the light.

“I have seen countless of my people chained as slaves, locked in cages as if they were nothing more than merchandise… You should already know the consequences of harming my kin.” Mireya whispered, her voice laced with killing intent that sent a bone-deep chill through his spine.

Noticing his shaken look, Mireya chuckled softly. “What’s wrong? Cat got your tongue? Did you really think I wouldn’t discover what you’ve been doing since I left the Beast Continent?”

Emperor Raghar swallowed hard, his forehead drenched in sweat, his heart pounding violently within his chest.

At the same time, Empress Lindy turned toward him with a puzzled expression, her eyes slowly widening in realization.

’Is Mireya speaking the truth? Has my husband truly been selling elves as slaves?’ Her gaze fixed on Emperor Raghar, filled with concern and disbelief.

But the look on his face told her everything. She realized in that instant that Mireya’s words were not lies. Her husband had indeed been trafficking elves in secret, and the revelation left her utterly shaken.

’How could I have never known…?’ she pondered, her heart twisting with betrayal toward the man she had loved and trusted.

However, just as she was about to confront her husband, Mireya’s cold voice resounded again.

“Emperor Raghar, once I’m finished with your daughter, I’ll deal with you. Both father and daughter will pay dearly for their audacity.”

And with those words, Mireya suddenly launched a powerful kick that sent Emperor Raghar flying, his body crashing hard near his throne.

Gasp! The people in the hall gasped loudly, their eyes widening in disbelief as they witnessed their mighty Emperor being kicked aside by a single woman.

Mireya ignored the shocked crowd and shifted her glare to Lindy, her eyes sharp with murderous intent.

“If you don’t want to die a meaningless death, get away from this bitch. Otherwise… I won’t care that you’re innocent.” Her words were cold and absolute—Mireya wouldn’t let anyone stand in her way.

“I-I won’t stop you… But you must promise me you won’t kill her…” Empress Lindy pleaded, her trembling voice breaking as tears streamed down her cheeks.

Never in her life had she imagined that she—an Empress—would one day be forced to beg for her daughter’s life.

Yet she knew well that both her daughter and husband had committed unforgivable sins. For that, they deserved punishment.

Mireya remained silent for a few seconds before replying curtly, “I will try…”

Then, without hesitation, she raised her leg high and brought it down, stomping on Lindsey’s leg with brutal force.

“KYAAAAAAGHHHH!!!” Princess Lindsey’s agonized scream echoed through the Grand Hall as her leg snapped under the stomp. The unbearable pain made her feel as though her very body was breaking apart.

Tears streamed down her pale face, her body trembling uncontrollably. She wanted to faint, but the agony kept her awake, forcing her to endure the torment.

In that moment, she regretted everything—regretted provoking Mireya, regretted every arrogant choice she had made. She knew she had made an enemy she never should have.

But it was far too late for regret. Mireya continued her merciless torture, breaking Lindsey’s remaining limbs one by one.

The Empress watched in sheer disbelief, her sobs echoing through the Grand Hall as she cried uncontrollably, hating herself for being powerless and failing to protect her daughter.
