My Cat Turned Beastman Won't Stop Kissing My Neck
Chapter 96: How to Assign the Rooms
The group fell silent.
Only Shen Mqing stared at them, completely bewildered.
’What’s going on? What are these people even talking about... How come I can’t understand a single word?’
But clearly, no one was paying him any mind.
"I’m afraid they’re not just after the Critical Stone," Chi Ye said, lifting his head with a complicated expression. He then added, "Otherwise, all those experiments would be completely unnecessary."
To go to such lengths would require a massive expenditure of manpower and resources, not to mention dealing with the aftermath... all the potential changes that could occur.
There’s only one reason they’d go that far: the benefits must outweigh the costs. No matter how great the expenditure, they are determined to complete the experiments.
Shen Mqing scratched his head as he listened from the side. ’Isn’t this my house?’ he thought. ’So why do I feel like I’m the one who’s out of place?’
Even this female human was part of the conversation, but he...
"Is anyone going to explain this to me?" The little dinosaur’s tail swayed behind him.
Li Jiu boldly flew up from Wen Qian’s head and chirped melodiously at Shen Mqing.
The next second, however, Shen Mqing waved him away. "Get lost. I can’t understand a thing you’re saying."
So, Li Jiu timidly flew back to Wen Qian’s side and buried his head in her arms, looking wronged.
Everyone disapproved of Shen Mqing’s actions, but it was his house, so they didn’t feel it was their place to say anything.
Only Yin Zhi seemed to have reached his limit. He stood up, grabbed Shen Mqing by his dinosaur hat, and flashed a chilling smile. "Let’s talk upstairs."
Shen Mqing was about to nod in agreement, but in the next second, he seemed to realize something and struggled to run away. Yin Zhi simply pinned him by the neck. Under the absolute suppression of strength, the man began to tremble. "I was wrong... I won’t ask anymore."
"Who are you apologizing to?" Yin Zhi asked, silently tightening his grip. Shen Mqing’s scalp tingled, as if his neck would be snapped in the next instant.
"Se... Se Dan... I’m sorry."
The next moment, Shen Mqing felt the pressure on his neck release, and his body tumbled to the floor with the momentum.
He quickly scurried into a corner, looking even more pitiful than Li Jiu had a moment ago.
Yin Zhi sat back down next to Wen Qian, then held out his palm, which had reddened from the force he’d used. "Qianqian, my hand hurts," he murmured.
Shen Mqing: "..."
Shen Mqing subconsciously touched his own neck, feeling like he could feel an indentation. He felt wronged and wanted to complain to the female human just like Yin Zhi had, but he didn’t dare.
Her small hand gently pressed on the young man’s large palm, and Wen Qian gave him a helpless look.
But she didn’t say anything, because she thought what Yin Zhi had just done was... quite brilliant.
’In some situations, force is the best way to solve a problem.’
Chi Ye subconsciously glanced at Chi Heng, giving him a look that said, ’You should take some notes.’ ’Yin Zhi’s little tricks might not be useful out in the world, but they’re more than enough to handle Wen Qian,’ he thought. ’Who could blame her? This human just falls for this kind of thing. It’s a classic case of knowing your audience.’
The group sat facing each other, reviewing the day’s events and briefly analyzing the matter of the experiments.
The final conclusion was that a faction of Beastmen and humans were cooperating to achieve their respective goals.
What the Beastmen wanted was undoubtedly the Critical Stone. For Beastmen, possessing the Critical Stone was equivalent to having a voice, whether in the Beast World or on Blue Star.
As for the humans, they needed absolute power.
The most likely possibility was that they wanted to use this opportunity to create a batch of powerful Mutant Beastmen.
However, Wen Qian felt this theory was a bit too bold. After all, her home, Country Z, had always advocated for peace and had never entered into conflict with other nations, not even a war of words. Their motive for doing something like this wasn’t strong enough.
Besides, from a human perspective, Beastmen were uncontrollable.
At almost the same moment, Wen Qian received a message from Gu Mian.
Gu Mian: Don’t go home for now.
Wen Qian was about to ask what she should do about school when another message came through.
Gu Mian: I’ll take care of things on the school’s end.
Wen Qian was about to start her internship soon, so the school wouldn’t look too deeply into her absence from classes.
Especially with Gu Mian vouching for her.
With her biggest worry resolved, Wen Qian breathed a sigh of relief. She then asked about his situation before putting her phone down.
When she looked up, she found all the Beastmen staring at her, with Yin Zhi’s gaze being the most emotionally charged.
"A Mian has arrived. There are a lot of people near the house, and he told us not to go back for now." Putting her phone down, Wen Qian relayed Gu Mian’s message to the group.
"Does he mean don’t go back to the house, or don’t go back to City A?" Chi Heng asked.
"City A. The main roads from City A to South City will be under heavy scrutiny soon," Wen Qian said. "That includes the car we were driving before. We can’t use it anymore."
The others said nothing, but Yin Zhi lazily buried his head in the crook of Wen Qian’s neck and nuzzled her forcefully, as if begging for comfort.
"Alright, let’s all get some rest. I’ll assign the rooms," Ling Xuan said, glancing at his Young Master with an understanding look. He then surveyed the group. "Chi Ye, Li Jiu, and I will stay downstairs. Little Young Master Shen can have his usual room. Chi Heng will be in the room opposite him. The Young Master and Miss Wen will take the first room to the left of the stairs."
The moment he finished speaking, Chi Ye objected, "How can your Young Master share a room with the little female?"
Yin Zhi lifted his eyelids slightly and said flatly, "We’ve always stayed together like this."
Ling Xuan shot Chi Ye a look that clearly said, ’Don’t make trouble.’ "Rooms are limited. We still have a Beastman from the Snake Clan who hasn’t returned yet. The remaining room needs to be saved for him."
Chi Ye: "But men and women should be separate. If word gets out, it won’t be good for the little female’s reputation..."
’Everyone in the house is a Beastman except for Wen Qian. Who’s going to spread the word?’ Shen Mqing rolled his eyes from his corner.
But he quickly realized something. ’Could this guy be the Young Master’s love rival?’ At that thought, his eyes lit up. ’Looks like there’s going to be a good show.’
"You think everyone is as much of a gossip as you?" Ling Xuan shot him a look, retorting mercilessly.
Just as Chi Ye was about to speak, Chi Heng cut in, "I can share a room with Second Uncle. That way, there will be just enough rooms."
The instant he finished, Yin Zhi’s icy gaze fell upon him. But it was only for a moment before the young man turned to Wen Qian with a pitiful look. "Qian..."
"I agree." Wen Qian scooted to the side, causing Yin Zhi’s embrace to meet empty air.
’This guy has really started letting himself go lately. When he gets on my bed, not only does he refuse to turn into his small cat form, but he always shifts to his beast form and wraps his tail around my leg... Sometimes he even buries himself in my arms and pesters me to rub his ears.’
’It’s hard for me to get a good night’s rest sharing a room with him.’
Yin Zhi frowned. "I don’t agree!"
"Overruled," Wen Qian said, pinching his cheek.
