My Cat Turned Beastman Won't Stop Kissing My Neck
Chapter 77: Simply Lustful
Wen Qian couldn’t quite wrap her head around it.
’Wait, did the Little Fox get the wrong script?’
’Shouldn’t he be giving me the cold shoulder, telling me this is a once-in-a-lifetime offer? Why is he suddenly so eager to throw himself at me?’
"Don’t move. Let me get a good look..." Wen Qian leaned in instinctively, her expression grave. Under his bewildered gaze, she cupped his face in her hands. "Tell me, who put a spell on you?"
The Little Fox: "You..."
Well, Wen Qian certainly knew how to push his buttons.
The Little Fox’s expression did indeed turn cold. Before getting into the car, he didn’t forget to shoot a glare back at Wen Qian.
Wen Qian, however, didn’t seem to mind, still smiling and waving at him. Only after he was gone did she gently pat her chest.
’That was close. I almost said yes.’
’Who could say no to a man who ticks all of their aesthetic boxes saying something like that?’
’But if I had actually said yes, the other man at home—who also happens to tick all my aesthetic boxes—would probably tear the Little Fox to shreds...’
As she thought of this, Wen Qian’s mind conjured the faces of Gu Mian and Chi Heng... ’It seems they also fit my type.’
’Wait a minute... They’re all completely different types of handsome guys!’
’So my "type" is...’
In that moment, Wen Qian finally saw herself for who she truly was. What "type"? She was simply a sucker for a pretty face.
’Anyone who’s good-looking is my type.’
The moment she walked through the door, Yin Zhi rushed over to greet her, clearly not expecting her back so soon.
Even though Ling Xuan had been tailing her, he was still worried.
’Wait, I feel like I forgot something...’
"I forgot to tell him about the Critical Stone..." Wen Qian was ready to cry.
’We talked for so long, and I forgot the most important thing.’
"It’s no big deal," Gu Mian said, taking it in stride. He leaned against the doorframe, his voice calm. "He’ll be back."
If he could fly for two hours from the set to come here today, he definitely wouldn’t settle for seeing Wen Qian just once.
"So what? Qianqian would never like that ’little milk dog’ type," Yin Zhi said, applying the new slang he’d learned to Qi Ke.
Wen Qian froze. ’Hold on... How is Qi Ke anything like a ’little milk dog’?’
’He’s clearly an arrogant fox...’
Still, she played along with Yin Zhi’s comment. "Then what type should I like?"
"A ’big wolf dog,’ of course," Yin Zhi said, lifting his chin proudly.
To her surprise, in the next moment, someone else looked even prouder. Chi Heng sat up straight, puffed out his chest, and let out a howl.
"I wasn’t talking about you!" Yin Zhi gritted his teeth.
Chi Heng gave him a sidelong glance, then turned his head away, completely ignoring his indignant expression.
Wen Qian was speechless. ’These two are so childish,’ she thought.
"Qianqian, I’m going to head back now," Gu Mian said, breaking the tension.
Wen Qian nodded instinctively. "Okay."
"Qianqian, would you walk me out?" Gu Mian asked, remaining still as a gentle look appeared on his face.
"Isn’t your home just across the hall?" Yin Zhi narrowed his eyes.
’It’s not even twenty steps to get home from here... and he needs an escort?’
Gu Mian shot him a cool glance, but he spoke to Wen Qian. "Qianqian, you could take a tour of my new home."
Yin Zhi was about to retort with a "Who cares?" when he heard Wen Qian reply, "Okay." His face instantly darkened. Just as he was about to protest, he saw Li Jiu flapping his wings and tagging along... looking like he wanted a tour as well.
"Let us have a look too," Yin Zhi said, an idea sparking.
A moment later, Chi Heng also slowly pushed himself up and looked toward Gu Mian.
The man’s gaze darkened slightly behind his glasses. He raised a hand and fiddled with his cuff. After a long moment, he finally said, "Alright."
’As if he didn’t know what Yin Zhi was thinking.’
’Bring everyone along to completely eliminate any chance of him being alone with Wen Qian.’
’But as far as I know, the Tiger Clan has been very busy lately. With South City and City A to manage, does he really have the free time to meddle in my affairs?’
Gu Mian’s place was a newly renovated apartment, and all the furniture was brand new.
The decorative pieces had been added recently and included vintage wood carvings and delicate porcelain.
The moment he was inside, Li Jiu went wild with excitement. He flew straight for the sofa and, to everyone’s confusion, buried his round head into a soft throw pillow.
Chi Heng, meanwhile, made a beeline for the window, flopping onto the carpet to roll around lazily.
Only Yin Zhi stuck to Wen Qian like glue. Every time Gu Mian opened a door to a new room, Yin Zhi would preemptively start introducing it. Wen Qian had the strange feeling he’d been hired by Gu Mian as a tour guide...
’Seriously, has he ever considered a career as a commentator?’
Gu Mian’s home was minimalist, with a black, white, and gray color scheme that looked a little oppressive. He clearly didn’t see it that way, having deliberately changed his bedroom curtains to solid black for their light-blocking properties.
Wen Qian and the others stayed at Gu Mian’s place for a full half hour. Li Jiu was quite reluctant to leave, and Wen Qian only found out later it was because the throw pillows on Gu Mian’s sofa were softer than the ones at home.
’Wen Qian sighed in resignation... The Hundred Bird Clan really does have a powerful obsession with soft things!’
「Late at night.」
Wen Qian was already fast asleep.
Yin Zhi stole a quick kiss before tiptoeing out of the bedroom.
He watched Chi Heng in silence, waiting until the other man turned around before speaking unhurriedly. "Can you do something about that lovesick subordinate of yours?"
"That Wolf Clan member in South City who got scammed out of his money and slept with—he still won’t give up. He keeps insisting on finding the partner who abandoned him. He knows it’s hopeless, but he keeps demanding an ’answer’ from her."
The whole thing had been giving Yin Zhi a massive headache for the past two days.
Ling Xuan knew the Wolf Beastman and often looked out for him, so Yin Zhi had stayed out of it.
Until recently, when that "ex-wife" of his packaged him up and sold him to an underground club for a second time...
"If I didn’t know how head-over-heels he is for that human female, I’d think he was doing it on purpose."
"Making trouble on purpose, as if he was sent by you just to spite me."
"We’re all Beastmen, so we help our own, regardless of clan. But I’m getting really sick of a stubborn fool who keeps walking right back into the trap."
"On top of that, his position in the Wolf Clan isn’t insignificant. I’m worried he’ll end up leaking our secrets to the humans."
His previously calm expression froze at the word "subordinate."
Immediately, Chi Heng turned his head away and shut his eyes, as if in forbearance.
’He knew who Yin Zhi was talking about, but... he really, really didn’t want to admit it!’
Chi Ye was his uncle.
’And a world-class lovesick fool.’
’Wait, why did I think ’also’?’
’Never mind. Not important.’
The moment he’d arrived on Blue Star, he’d told Chi Heng he had met his true love and had even revealed his Wolf Clan identity to her.
That human female was a schemer. Right after they got married, she transferred all of Chi Ye’s assets, and then, one dark and stormy night, she sold him to a nightclub...
At first, Chi Heng would go and rescue him. But after the second time... he ended up back there again.
All the while insisting he needed to get an "answer" from that human female.
Chi Heng had no choice but to threaten the human female into seeing him.
He’d never forget the conversation that followed.
