My Cat Turned Beastman Won't Stop Kissing My Neck
Chapter 121: They’re Going to Call the Police
"Speak! Why did you harm humans!" Shen Mqing continued his brutal interrogation of the Mutated Bat Wings, even picking up a rock and striking the side of the cage.
The two Mutated Bat Wings were nearly driven mad by the noise he was making. They dodged frantically until their eyes turned scarlet.
’Is he even going to let us live?!’
’We’re calling the cops!!’
"How do you expect them to speak?" Yin Zhi couldn’t stand it anymore and pulled Shen Mqing aside. He then motioned for Ling Xuan to carry the cage into the abandoned factory.
The Mutated Bat Wings immediately shot Yin Zhi a grateful look. ’How have we never realized before that the Young Master of the Tiger Clan was so wise and powerful?’
Shen Mqing froze for a second before realizing the Mutated Bat Wings were in their beast forms and couldn’t talk. Still, he sneered at their timid gazes. "Forget being ugly, you’re stupid too... Little Fox could talk even in his beast form."
The Mutated Bat Wings were first shocked, then confused, and finally, filled with grief and indignation... ’Seriously? He’s making comparisons now?’
Utterly dejected, the two Mutated Bat Wings lay in their cage and let Ling Xuan carry them into the factory. Anything was better than facing that Demon, Shen Mqing.
"Can they no longer shapeshift?" Wen Qian asked, gently tugging on Gu Mian’s sleeve as they walked.
The man turned his head. Beneath his glasses, his eyes were deep and gentle. The corner of his mouth curved into a faint smile. "It’s hard to say."
The physical constitution of Mutated Bat Wings was stronger than that of ordinary Fuyi. And Fuyi were different from other Beastmen; besides absorbing energy through Critical Stones, they could also do it through... blood.
In other words, if they were given enough blood, it would not only accelerate their healing but also help them shapeshift.
"Then, will they deliberately refuse to shapeshift... so we can’t question them?" As Wen Qian said this, the ears of the two Mutated Bat Wings up ahead twitched slightly.
Gu Mian noticed this and his eyes narrowed slightly. "Then we’ll just have Shen Mqing take them home and raise them. They’ll shapeshift eventually."
"Huh? You want *me* to take them home?" Shen Mqing had clearly overheard.
At that, the two Fuyi shuddered as if they had just heard a demon’s whisper. They immediately began shaking their heads like rattle-drums.
’Better to die than be humiliated... but in the face of true evil, what truth is worth hiding?’
Footsteps echoed clearly on the mottled floor. The group’s clean clothes looked utterly out of place in the damp environment. The factory was even gloomier on the inside. Water dripped down the walls, and the air was thick with the stench of mold and rust.
Someone stepped on something, causing a piercing CLANG. Shen Mqing didn’t bother to hide the disgust in his eyes and kicked the cage in Ling Xuan’s hand.
’Honestly, if it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t have to be out here in the middle of the night.’
"Be careful here," Yin Zhi said, walking ahead of Wen Qian and turning back to remind her every few steps. When he noticed that Gu Mian was holding Wen Qian’s hand, his expression immediately soured.
He forcefully shoved one of his own hands into Wen Qian’s hand and shot a provocative glare at Gu Mian.
Wen Qian was already used to this kind of behavior, so she didn’t say anything.
The factory was deeper than Wen Qian had imagined. They walked for quite a while, until a low roar shattered the silence...
A massive figure leaped from the shadows, landing with a heavy THUD.
Wen Qian flinched instinctively, but when she saw that no one else seemed fazed, she slowly raised her head.
Before her was a white... creature that resembled a wolf.
It was enormous, appearing to be a full three meters tall. Its fur was long, its limbs powerful, and every step it took made a heavy, muffled THUMP THUMP sound.
The giant beast had now turned, and Wen Qian could vaguely make out its face. Its jet-black eyes glinted with a feral light. It had a pointed snout, from which two sharp fangs faintly protruded.
Gu Mian gave Wen Qian’s hand a reassuring squeeze and said, "This is a Xuan Beast. They are the mounts and Guardians of the Beastmen."
Hearing Gu Mian’s voice, the Xuan Beast let out a low WHIMPER, as if in agreement.
Wen Qian was stunned. ’I can’t believe I’m seeing such a massive creature on Blue Star...’
Yin Zhi raised his hand and patted its white forepaw twice. The Xuan Beast immediately complied, moving aside to reveal a door standing behind it.
Ling Xuan silently unlocked the padlock on the door and stepped aside, waiting for everyone to enter before following them in.
In stark contrast to the dilapidated exterior, the inside had been simply furnished to resemble an interrogation room. But unlike a typical interrogation room, this one contained a comfortable sofa and a... tea set?
Wen Qian instinctively glanced at Yin Zhi. As if sensing her gaze, he immediately puffed out his chest proudly.
"You’re so fancy..." Wen Qian said with genuine feeling.
At the same time, she deadpanned internally, ’A tea set and iron chains. Is this what they call "appealing to both highbrow and lowbrow tastes"?’
After getting a nod from Yin Zhi, Shen Mqing immediately let the two bats out of the cage. Both of them glanced at Shen Mqing, who was crouching beside them, and silently took a step back.
"What are you backing away for! Huh!" Shen Mqing, clearly annoyed by their action, immediately stood up with his hands on his hips.
The two bats immediately shook their heads, then discreetly shuffled back another two steps.
"Can you two shapeshift?" Gu Mian asked, cutting Shen Mqing off before he could lose his temper.
The two bats first nodded, then shook their heads, which made Shen Mqing frown in confusion.
"Does that mean they need something to help them shapeshift?" Wen Qian asked, looking at Gu Mian.
Shen Mqing scoffed. "If you can, you can. If you can’t, you can’t. What’s this nonsense about needing help?"
’So melodramatic.’
"Fuyi Beastmen are a special case. To shapeshift, they need blood, right?" Ling Xuan ventured.
Nodding, they shuffled forward two steps, discreetly putting a little more distance between themselves and Shen Mqing. Shen Mqing was about to say something more, but then he saw Chi Heng take out a dagger and start to slice his own arm...
"I’ll do it!" Little Fox said, also drawing his dagger.
Just then, Yin Zhi seemed to have a realization. Whenever someone got hurt, Wen Qian would give them special attention.
Getting injured was commonplace for Beastmen. With their powerful healing abilities, it was no big deal... but it was different in Wen Qian’s eyes.
The differences between humans and Beastmen meant that Wen Qian viewed their injuries as extremely serious and would often look at them with a pained, sympathetic expression.
With that thought, Yin Zhi drew his dagger as well.
Seeing this, Ling Xuan immediately rushed forward and grabbed Yin Zhi’s hand. "Young Master, the blood from two people is enough!"
"No, it’s not," Yin Zhi said, his gaze firm.
"It really is..." Ling Xuan insisted, his gaze even more resolute.
Yin Zhi said, "That’s not it. Can you just let go for a second..."
