My Cat Turned Beastman Won't Stop Kissing My Neck

Chapter 117: I Can Transform For You

There were five locations in total, and they drew lots to assign personnel.

Li Jiu and Chi Heng, Wen Qian and Gu Mian, Qi Ke and Yin Zhi, Shen Mqing and Ling Xuan.

Yin Zhi and Qi Ke simultaneously questioned the decision.

However, as expected... Wen Qian rejected their objection.

Based on the three-day frequency, if nothing unexpected happened, the perpetrator would strike again tonight. Looking at the previous routes, anywhere within a ten-kilometer radius could be a target.

Aside from the hospital, all the other incidents had occurred in remote alleyways, making the likely destinations easy to identify.

However, the news Yin Zhi and the others received was a bit behind the official reports. The authorities had surely figured out the pattern by now. Wen Qian was a little worried... that they would run into official personnel when they went over.

As eight o’clock approached, everyone left the villa.

Although Yin Zhi and the others were wanted Beastmen, they wouldn’t be easily discovered as long as they acted cautiously.

After all, most people’s attention was currently focused on another matter.

Within the ten-kilometer radius, four likely spots were marked out. Yin Zhi had also found other Beastmen to stake out the areas in between each point, ensuring he would get news immediately if anything happened.

The Little Fox and Yin Zhi got into the same car. As soon as he was inside, the Little Fox closed his eyes and pretended to be fast asleep. Yin Zhi, for his part, looked like he had no intention of speaking to him, his face cold as he focused on driving.

Chi Heng’s mode of transport was a motorcycle. Chi Ye had someone ride it over for him two days ago, and it had even been fully serviced. He placed Li Jiu in his jacket pocket, not forgetting to remind them not to fall out before he started the engine.

Shen Mqing was still driving his flashy convertible, though he had changed the license plate beforehand.

Ling Xuan wanted to suggest he drive instead, but he ultimately held back... After all, for most male Beastmen, the car was just too pink.

"Hey, where do you think the others are? Are they as fast as us?"

"Probably not. My driving skills are unrivaled. I always came in first when I played racing games!"

"It’s not going to rain today, is it? Why does it feel like it’s getting overcast?"

"Why is there still traffic at this hour? So annoying, annoying, annoying..."

"Why aren’t you talking? You didn’t fall asleep, did you?"

Shen Mqing’s mouth hadn’t stopped moving the entire way. Ling Xuan suddenly recalled something Wen Qian had said about him a few days ago: Shen Mqing was a chatterbox.

He had been puzzled at the time, but thinking about it now... ’Wen Qian was so right!’

Wen Qian got into the car with Gu Mian. The two of them had been assigned to the southernmost point, which was also the closest to City A.

Wen Qian was human, and Gu Mian was a Beastman of unknown identity. Of the group, the two of them had the lowest profile regarding the nightclub incident.

Before they got in the car, Gu Mian had filled Wen Qian’s cup with hot water and steeped some red dates and longans in it. It was only after Wen Qian opened it that she realized her period was due in two days.

She subconsciously glanced over at the man, and the handsome profile that met her eyes made her lose focus for a moment.

’She seemed to be so easily moved by the small details...’

Gu Mian’s personality had always been like this—not one for words, but attentive to every detail. It was as if she didn’t have to worry about a thing as long as he was around.

"Just wait for me in the car." Gu Mian finally spoke as the car entered the highway and neared their destination.

Watching the dim night outside, Wen Qian nodded.

With everything still so uncertain, she chose to wait and see. It would be best if she could help, but if not, she had to make sure she didn’t become a burden to others.

The car soon arrived at its destination. Gu Mian parked on the side of the road and gently instructed Wen Qian, "I won’t go too far. If you run into danger, shout for me, or give me a call."

Wen Qian nodded, then, as if she had thought of something, reached out and grabbed his arm. A hint of hesitation flickered in her eyes. "Their target is human. What if..."

Her unspoken meaning was clear: the perpetrator wouldn’t show themselves if they didn’t see a person.

Gu Mian understood what Wen Qian meant. He raised a hand and gently ruffled the top of her head. "Their target might not be human, either."

If it were simply for blood, there were many ways for them to go unnoticed.

To go to such lengths, there might be another reason... for example, to push the Beastmen into the eye of the storm.

"Maybe," Wen Qian said with a frown. She then looked past him and said hesitantly, "Be careful."

As they neared this place, Wen Qian had noticed that there wasn’t a single person around. It was likely that the area had been secured in advance. If Gu Mian went in now, he would very likely run into official personnel.

But knowing him, she was sure he had already thought of this.

That person would almost certainly appear tonight—if not here, then somewhere else.

Since they wanted to cause a panic, they wouldn’t easily disrupt their own plan... even if they knew humans were already on guard.

The alley was long and dark. Gu Mian had just stepped inside when he sensed something was wrong. He crouched down, and a small snake slithered from his fingertip to the ground, disappearing into the alley in the blink of an eye.

There was no scent of a Beastman in the alley. Gu Mian wouldn’t advance rashly.

After an unknown amount of time, the snake, about as thick as an index finger, quickly crawled back... It reared up its front half, standing silently before Gu Mian.

In just a moment, the man understood its meaning. He didn’t go any further, instead turning and heading back to the car.

"It’s full of humans inside," he told Wen Qian, relaying his discovery.

The Little Black Snake had slithered through the alley and had only seen humans lying in ambush. They were holding tranquilizer guns, clearly intending to capture their target alive.

Wen Qian let out a breath. As she turned her head, she happened to spot the little creature poking its head out of his sleeve, and her eyes instantly lit up.

"A snake? Can I touch it?" she asked.

She hadn’t seen Gu Mian’s beast form in a long time... and this Little Black Snake looked small and slender, bearing some resemblance to the Gu Mian from before.

"You’re not afraid of it?" Gu Mian was stunned for a second. Seeing Wen Qian shake her head, he raised his hand, letting the Little Black Snake coil around her fingertips.

The slick, cool touch didn’t bother Wen Qian in the slightest. Instead, she found it fascinating and used her other hand to gently tap its tiny head.

’Knowing the little guy wouldn’t hurt her, even a cold-blooded animal could seem cute...’

The Little Black Snake tilted its head, looking back and forth between Gu Mian and Wen Qian. Then, it reared up and rubbed itself fawningly against the pad of Wen Qian’s finger twice.

"So cute..."

Even though she knew it was an odd word to describe a snake, she couldn’t help but praise it.

As if it understood her compliment, the Little Black Snake extended its forked tongue the next second and gently licked Wen Qian’s finger.

"That’s enough," a deep voice came from above Wen Qian’s head. The man’s eyes darkened slightly, and the Little Black Snake, as if sensing something, immediately and obediently crawled back onto Gu Mian’s hand.

"If you like it... I can transform for you." Staring at Wen Qian, the man’s tone took on a different, suggestive flavor.
