Wen Qian emerged from the room, listless. Leaning against the doorframe, she turned back and took a long look at the scene inside.

A fox and a tiger, both in their beast forms, were fighting over a morning sandwich.

The Little Fox had clearly said he didn’t want any, but the moment Yin Zhi reached for it, he pounced. Their struggle quickly escalated into a full-blown fight.

Fortunately, under Wen Qian’s threat, they had both transformed into their animal forms. Otherwise, the two of them would have completely wrecked the room.

As if a thought occurred to her, Wen Qian turned back again. She tapped her long, slender fingers lightly on the doorframe a few times and smiled. "A Zhi, let’s switch rooms tonight."

Yin Zhi froze mid-motion. He glanced at the Little Fox beside him and puffed out his chest proudly. But he quickly realized Wen Qian had said *switch* rooms, not that she wanted to sleep with him...

"This room is such a mess. It’s good to switch," the proud Little Fox said, sitting on the edge of the bed with his tail swaying back and forth. In the next second, however, his smile froze.

Wen Qian was also smiling at him. "You two are sleeping in here."

’They’ve already turned the bed into a chicken coop. No way am I cleaning that up.’

The Little Fox froze in place as if struck by lightning. He leaped up to argue, but just as he reached the doorway, the door was slammed shut.

Humming a tune, Wen Qian went downstairs and flopped onto the sofa. She rubbed her sore shoulders... and let out a long sigh.

’Finally, I’m away from those two difficult guys.’

Either Qi Ke or Yin Zhi was hard enough to deal with on their own, let alone when they were together... One was proud and prickly, the other a total drama queen. It was truly exhausting.

"Why do you look so tired?" Just then, Gu Mian walked over with a glass of water and naturally sat down beside her.

Wen Qian looked up with a "don’t even ask" expression, then her whole body seemed to turn into a soft pancake as she just sprawled out on the sofa.

Gu Mian found this amusing. He reached out to pat her head, then scooped her up and let her lean against him.

Chi Heng had already shifted into his human form, but upon seeing this scene from the top of the stairs, he went back into his room. When he came out again, the tall, sharp-looking man was gone, replaced by a majestic wolf.

Gu Mian glanced at him but said nothing. Chi Heng wasn’t bashful either, walking straight down the stairs and obediently curling up at Wen Qian’s feet.

Feeling the warm touch at her feet, Wen Qian cracked open her eyelids, but they quickly fluttered shut again... She was truly sleepy now.

Upstairs, the Little Fox and Yin Zhi called a temporary truce. After changing their clothes, they exchanged a look and, though reluctant, worked together to restore the room to its original state.

When they came downstairs, their eyes met Gu Mian’s, and for once, neither of them said anything.

His fingers still resting on Wen Qian’s waist, Gu Mian looked at Yin Zhi and asked coolly, "What did you find out yesterday?"

"The wall over there has been repaired." Yin Zhi sat down on the sofa, naturally crossing his legs. He glanced at Chi Heng on the floor and curled his lip almost imperceptibly. "But the beast fights have been temporarily canceled."

Perhaps it was because the Mutant Beastman had attracted too much attention, forcing the people behind the scenes to lay low, or maybe it was something else... Who knew.

"We still have to make another trip," Gu Mian concluded.

When Li Jiu was searching for the fragments, he found two pieces in total, but they only managed to get one. No matter what, they had to go to that nightclub again.

"There might be an Inspection Envoy among them," the Little Fox said, lifting his eyes, voicing his speculation. Although he didn’t know what they were specifically planning, based on his observations, it definitely had something to do with the Critical Stone.

The Little Fox’s identity as a Beastman was no secret on Blue Star. When those people first caught him, they had clearly decided to go easy on him. Their sudden change of heart was probably because of the fragment he was carrying...

Originally, the Little Fox couldn’t be sure what Wen Qian had given him. But just now in the room, Yin Zhi had pounced on him to snatch his pendant, instantly confirming his suspicions.

For the Young Master of the Tiger Clan, no rare treasure would be enough to make him fight for it like that, unless this item held an extraordinary significance for him, or rather, for the entire Beast World.

As soon as the Little Fox spoke, everyone’s gazes fell on him. He looked away awkwardly. "When the time comes, I’ll take out my piece."

"What do you mean, *yours*? It’s clearly..."

"AWOO—"

Chi Heng had tried to interrupt them, but his howl ended up waking Wen Qian instead.

Wen Qian rubbed her eyes and looked helplessly at the Little Fox and Yin Zhi. ’Have those two still not finished arguing after all this time?’ she thought.

"Hmph!" Seeing Wen Qian’s gaze on him, the Little Fox turned his head away again.

He had tried to curry favor with her in the bedroom just now, but not only did she not appreciate it, she even pushed him away. If she hadn’t pushed the tiger away at the same time, he definitely wouldn’t have forgiven her...

"You’re going to the nightclub... How?" She had been sleeping lightly and had overheard bits and pieces of their conversation.

Not only were the roads from City A to South City blocked, but all the major entertainment venues were surely on high alert. Besides, their looks were just too conspicuous...

"We need a fresh face," Yin Zhi said, rubbing his chin.

In the next second, everyone’s eyes landed in unison on Shen Mqing, who had just stepped out of his room.

The young man stared at the group, completely baffled, then abruptly threw his hands up. "I didn’t do anything!"

’Seriously, why are they all so hostile toward me!’

’All I did was go back to my room to change my clothes, and they’re staring at me with such wary eyes?’

Wen Qian couldn’t help but let out a laugh, then raised a hand toward him. "We were hoping you could help us."

Shen Mqing took a wary step back, about to retreat into his room, but Ling Xuan closed the distance in a few quick strides, blocking the door before he could.

Ling Xuan reached out, grabbed the young man, and hauled him downstairs, ignoring his devastated expression.

"I’m a member of the Shen Family! How dare you treat me like this..." he yelled, trying to shake Ling Xuan off.

"Yes, yes, we know. You’re the best, which is exactly why we’re asking for your help," Wen Qian said with a smile, her almond-shaped eyes crinkling into crescents.

Shen Mqing’s first thought was that this woman was actually quite pretty when she smiled, but he quickly caught himself... ’There’s always a catch when something seems too good to be true. She’s definitely plotting something!’

Shen Mqing was the only Beastman who hadn’t shown his face at the beast fight, so Wen Qian proposed that she could take him and Li Jiu on the trip.

Beastmen were rare at the nightclub; any who entered would inevitably draw attention. But Wen Qian was different. She was human, and thousands of people passed through the nightclub every day... As long as she wore a simple disguise, she wouldn’t be noticed.

"I disagree. It’s too dangerous..." Yin Zhi was the first to object.

The Little Fox also nodded emphatically. "I don’t agree either."

The two of them exchanged a look, having actually reached a consensus for once.

Wen Qian didn’t rush to argue. She just glanced coolly at Shen Mqing. "So you’d feel better if he went alone?"
