My Arts Evolve When Perfected
Chapter 505 - 432: The Eternal Great Dominator, the 100-Year-Blossoming Spirit Fruit
Jiang Qiu knew little of the legends surrounding the Nine-tailed Fox, one of the Eight Great Dominators. After all, he had only just learned of its existence from the Wild Ape.
This was the first time he had ever set foot in the Nine-tailed Fox’s territory, so he knew very little. However, it was said that an uncrossable chasm existed between the Great Dominators and the lesser ones. Simply put, a Great Dominator’s power was definitively a whole realm above that of a Lesser Dominator.
According to the Wild Ape’s description, the Nine-tailed Fox’s majesty was such that the mere mention of its name could make Dominators for hundreds of miles around tremble in fear. The body of such a being could be condensed to a certain point; it wouldn’t necessarily be enormous. Even so, its overwhelming might was undeniable.
Indeed, even a Great Dominator’s body would no longer continue to grow. In fact, it would condense. The reason wasn’t anything strange, but simply because while the Primitive Ancient Forest was vast and its trees were incredibly thick, the gaps between them were just too narrow. If powerful creatures kept growing larger, how could they possibly survive in this forest?
The Wild Ape’s physique had been nearly the largest Jiang Qiu had encountered since arriving in this world. Nothing was bigger—not even a more powerful Lesser Dominator at the Middle Stage of the Spirit Control Realm was guaranteed to be its size. Therefore, once a creature’s body reached a certain point, its growth would cease.
In fact, the more one’s realm and strength increased, the more their body would have to shrink. Jiang Qiu had noticed it back then—the Wild Ape’s massive size was already a major inconvenience. Life was difficult for it. To truly survive in the Primitive Ancient Forest, one had to shrink to a manageable size.
And as a body became more condensed, its aura wasn’t weakened. On the contrary, it projected an even stronger sense of intimidation to other creatures. This was why, upon reaching a certain realm, one’s body would actually shrink.
So, as Jiang Qiu stepped into this small wood shrouded in white mist, he felt a tremor in the dense Heaven and Earth Spirit Charm. It seemed a powerful being was approaching from the depths, graceful and unhurried.
In the territory of a Great Dominator like this, there were virtually no other creatures. In other words, the vast White Mist Forest was the sole domain of the Nine-tailed Fox. Other beings didn’t dare to enter, nor could they adapt to the environment here. Ultimately, the Heaven and Earth Spirit Charm was simply too dense for them.
When an elusive silhouette began to take shape in the mist, Jiang Qiu’s pupils narrowed. He stared intently into the white depths where nine phantom-like tails danced, weaving together like a net and exuding a unique, ethereal aura. ’The Nine-tailed Fox?’
The shadow wasn’t particularly large. It was perhaps only a bit bigger than Xiong Batian was now. Compared to the old Xiong Batian, it might not have even reached his chest. Yet, the aura it radiated stirred the surrounding Heaven and Earth Spirit Charm. This was a being whose understanding of the Spirit Charm had reached an entirely new level!
If Jiang Qiu’s understanding of the Lesser Dominators was that they could barely call upon the Heaven and Earth Spirit Charm to protect or strengthen their own bodies, then the moment this Nine-tailed Fox appeared, he knew it was different. This creature could command the Spirit Charm for external manipulation.
He couldn’t be sure to what extent, but at the very least, it could weaponize the Heaven and Earth Spirit Charm to attack its enemies. Even now, the creature was manipulating the Spirit Charm to compress the surrounding air, making the atmosphere heavy with layer upon layer of oppressive power.
The pressure from its realm was immense!
From a being other than Jiang Qiu, Xiong Batian once again felt a pressure of the Celestial Incline Level. It was as if he had reverted to being an ant that could be crushed at will. His so-called Perfect Spiritual Vein Opening Level suddenly seemed like a trivial accomplishment.
This feeling of powerlessness flooded his body. He knew his own weakness and didn’t dare to look directly at the Nine-tailed Fox’s silhouette, nor face such a mighty existence. But he was Jiang Qiu’s mount, after all, so he forced himself to hold his ground.
Thus, when the Nine-tailed Fox fully materialized from the white mist, it couldn’t help but let out a soft sigh. "How truly strange. To think such peculiar creatures exist. Where have you come from, and what do you want here?"
The voice was ethereal. Even though it was speaking the Demon Language, it was impossible to tell if it was male or female. This was a unique feature in itself. Generally, the Demon Language inherently conveyed such information; one would know the speaker’s gender without it needing to be stated.
Of course, different members of the Demon Race could, as long as they were of opposite sexes, engage in certain... primitive activities. There would also be periods of intensity, an extreme desire to reproduce.
However, this unique information structure of the Demon Race was now useless before the Nine-tailed Fox. Its voice had blurred the very concept of gender, like that of a lofty deity looking down upon the mortal world and speaking an occasional, detached word.
Moreover, even though he had trespassed on its territory, Jiang Qiu didn’t sense an overwhelming, lethal pressure from the Nine-tailed Fox. In other words, it hadn’t revealed any terrifying killing intent from the start.
Looking closely, he saw that the Nine-tailed Fox did indeed have nine large, fluffy tails swaying behind it, like downy white willow catkins drifting in the wind. Its long, narrow eyes were framed by sharp corners and scarlet fur, lending its gaze a unique charm.
