My Aloof Husband, Mr. Drexler, Dotes Me Excessively
Chapter 810: She Doesn’t Have to Be So Honest!
She really couldn’t figure out why Wendy Linden would suddenly come back and kidnap the doctor here.
Upon hearing Summer Shawcross say this, the doctor finally spoke up, recounting the events of that day.
"That woman said that if we couldn’t develop an antidote to save you, she would tie us all up and throw us into the river to feed the fish. I told her the truth, but she hit me!" The doctor said, his face still full of fear.
Trying to develop an antidote is practically an impossible task. He could only tell the truth, yet that woman beat him for it!
He always thought the women of Narsus City were gentle and lovely, but this was an eye-opener.
"..." After hearing the doctor’s words, Summer Shawcross’s expression first froze, then grew somewhat awkward.
She also didn’t expect Wendy Linden to go to such lengths...
However, hearing what the doctor said, her heart felt somewhat touched.
Was Wendy Linden coming back midway because she was worried about the poison in her?
"Sorry, Doctor. I apologize on behalf of my friend. She was just worried about me in the heat of the moment. She wouldn’t really do that!" She looked at the doctor full of apologies and sincerely apologized.
Seeing Summer Shawcross speak up, the doctor nodded and generously replied.
"Mrs. Drexler, considering your regard, I won’t hold it against her."
"Thank you, Doctor..." Summer Shawcross flashed a smile and politely said to him.
Just as she secretly breathed a sigh of relief and turned her head, she noticed the man beside her was looking at her with a slightly surprised expression.
"What’s wrong?" Seeing this, she couldn’t help but ask him in confusion.
Why was he staring at her like that for no reason?
Noah Drexler raised his eyebrows and suddenly asked her in a low voice, with a hint of fondness in his expression.
"Since when did you become so polite?"
It was the first time he saw her being so polite and well-behaved while apologizing.
Noah Drexler’s words left Summer Shawcross momentarily stunned, before she looked at him speechlessly and explained herself, pouting her lips.
"I’ve always been polite."
Upon hearing this, Noah Drexler squinted his eyes, his handsome face full of doubt.
"Really?"
But unexpectedly, facing his skepticism, Summer Shawcross pouted her lips disdainfully and replied.
"I was only impolite to you before!"
She’s always been quite polite to others; she just disliked him very much back then, so she never showed a good face.
"..." As her words fell, the man’s face instantly darkened, showing displeasure on his handsome features.
She didn’t have to be so honest!
Though he knew well that she had always disliked him in the past, hearing her say it so bluntly did make him feel uneasy.
Seeing the man’s darkened expression, Summer Shawcross realized she might have said something wrong. She quickly let out a dry laugh and began to explain.
"You’re my husband, so I don’t need to be polite to you." She looked at him with a full smile as she spoke and reached out to hug his arm, trying to salvage the situation...
Sure enough... after hearing her explanation, the man’s gaze paused for a moment. He lowered his eyes to glance at the shamelessly grinning woman, and the expression on his handsome face softened slightly, gradually becoming gentler.
