My Aloof Husband, Mr. Drexler, Dotes Me Excessively
Chapter 773: Might As Well Just Pretend to Be Asleep
Even if she survived by such means, her heart would forever carry guilt.
Such a disreputable act is better left undone.
After Summer Shawcross spoke, Katherine Irving’s expression became even more conflicted.
She didn’t want anything to happen to Sean Morgan, nor did she want anything to happen to Summer Shawcross...
"Ma’am, let’s get the facts straight first. Maybe things aren’t as we imagine?" Katherine glanced at the broken building in front of them, then said to Summer Shawcross.
They couldn’t discern the whole story from the conversation between Sean and the boss earlier.
So... she felt they should go in, ask the people inside, understand clearly, and then make plans.
Hearing Katherine say this, Summer Shawcross nodded in agreement.
"Let’s go back first, we can’t let Noah Drexler find out yet."
If things were as serious as Sean Morgan said, Noah Drexler would definitely not let her know the truth.
"Then let’s go quickly, I’m afraid Sean will get home before I do!" Katherine said anxiously.
Summer Shawcross nodded, hurriedly getting up from the corner of the wall.
...
Summer Shawcross didn’t expect Katherine to have the nerve to praise her own driving skills!
All along the way, the car was jolting so much it almost made her sick. By the time she got back to the Drexler Family, she was already out of energy.
But fortunately, when she sneaked back wearing the housemaid’s clothes, it seemed that Noah Drexler wasn’t back yet.
Summer Shawcross breathed a sigh of relief, quickly sneaking into the storage room, changed back into her original nightgown, took off her makeup, and hurried back to the hall to go upstairs.
"Ma’am?" Just as she was about to go upstairs, a servant discovered her, a surprised expression on her face.
"What is it?" Summer Shawcross stopped and blinked at the servant, asking in confusion.
"When did you come downstairs? I didn’t see you come down?" the servant asked with a puzzled expression.
"Just now, I was a bit thirsty, came down for a drink of water, and now I’m going back." Summer Shawcross smiled and said, then turned and went upstairs directly.
When Summer Shawcross returned to the bedroom, she walked to the window and looked out.
Sean Morgan was driving, slowly entering through the iron gate.
Seeing Noah Drexler had just returned, Summer Shawcross finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Even though Katherine’s driving was torturous, she managed to return quite timely.
While she was lost in thought, the car had already arrived at the villa entrance. The man in the car stepped down quickly but did not immediately enter the house. He instinctively lifted his eyes and looked towards this window.
Startled, Summer Shawcross hurriedly took a step back, not daring to stay there any longer, and immediately turned around, hurried back to the bed, and lay down, closing her eyes.
Soon, the sound of the bedroom door opening could be heard.
The man’s footsteps followed, and when he saw the dark room, his steps became noticeably lighter.
Summer Shawcross kept her eyes closed, pretending to sleep without reacting.
Because she was worried that if she opened her eyes and looked at Noah Drexler, she might not resist asking him about the antidote.
Since he wouldn’t tell her everything anyway, it was better to just pretend to sleep.
The quiet footsteps slowly approached and stopped at the bedside.
Summer Shawcross felt her heart tighten unexpectedly, feeling somewhat inexplicably nervous.
Just when she thought she was about to be exposed, the man’s breath suddenly drew near, and a gentle kiss landed on the corner of her lips.
