"Alright, I’ll have someone send it up later." The butler nodded in agreement.

Only then did Summer Shawcross happily carry that pile of things into the villa.

Seeing her happy figure, the butler was momentarily stunned.

At this moment, Noah Drexler also got out of the car.

"Sir, did something good happen today?"

Madam seems particularly happy.

Upon hearing the butler’s words, Noah squinted his eyes slightly.

Something good? That mouse?

On the way back, she was smiling foolishly at that mouse the whole time!

As he thought about it, he couldn’t help but frown. The next second, after tossing the car keys to a servant, he took long strides to catch up with her.

When Summer Shawcross returned to the bedroom with her load of things, Noah Drexler also walked in from outside.

She placed the fairy wand, toy car, and keychain on the coffee table before gently placing the small box containing the pet hamster on it as well. Then she sat down on the carpet herself, lying on the coffee table and happily gazing at the little creature inside the cage.

Seeing her face full of satisfaction, Noah’s expression paused. Just a hamster could make her this happy?

Could she not be a little more aspirational?

He took long strides over to her side, not sitting on the sofa, but squatting down beside her.

"Noah Drexler, it’s scared of you, look, it’s hiding!" Hearing the noise beside her, Summer turned her head to glance at Noah, deliberately lowering her voice as if afraid of scaring the hamster.

Her cautious demeanor made Noah frown, and he snorted coldly, dismissively saying,

"It’s just a mouse, what’s so great about it?"

Seeing Noah’s disdainful look, Summer pouted her lips in disregard and then seriously looked back at the hamster burrowing in the wood chips, suddenly saying,

"When I was in primary school, it was popular to keep pets in the class. Once, there was an event where everyone brought their home pets."

She recounted while reminiscing.

In her eyes watching the hamster, there seemed to be stars twinkling.

Noah looked down, gazing at her demeanor and getting lost in thought, a bit of brightness appearing in his eyes.

"I remember it was so lively then, mostly cats and dogs in the class, they were all so cute and fluffy, and a few classmates brought hamsters just like this one, very adorable."

Hearing her say this, Noah, somewhat intrigued, asked,

"So, what did you bring?"

He didn’t like listening to people talk about the past, but he was quite curious about her childhood.

Even though he knew, she must have been a thousand times happier than he was back then!

While he was looking down, staring intently at her face, Summer’s voice, filled with resentment, slowly sounded,

"A fish from our kitchen that hadn’t been cooked yet."

"..." Noah’s expression froze for a moment, showing a bit of surprise.

The answer was clearly unexpected to him.

Summer sighed, turned to look at Noah, and suddenly asked,

"My grandpa never agreed to let me keep small animals, so the only living creature I could find at home was that fish. Isn’t it tragic!" So, this adorable hamster is her first pet!

She still remembers, when she brought that box with a carp to class, how the whole class laughed so hard...
