Chapter 42: How did you meet my brother? ( 2 )
Aisha’s POV
…
Aisha woke up on an unfamiliar bed. It reminded her that yesterday’s incident wasn’t just her imagination. Thinking back, everything had been strange. A handsome young man dressed in leather armor had rescued her from the hands of countless soldiers bringing her here.
The man said he was part of the team sent in order to search for those affected by the incident, and since he knew that she had a brother—two of them, even—she could only conclude one thing. That he knew her brothers.
Whatever the case, it was best to find out information by herself. Climbing down from the bed and walking around, she saw that there were a lot of people moving about. And admits those people were an old lady sitting idly with her teacup.
She looked to be in her early sixties, with white hair and blue eyes. It was as if Aisha were staring at the picture of a gentle, harmless old lady. She also wore her sword at her hip as she sat there, calmly drinking tea.
Aisha assumed that the old lady was a high-ranking personnel member, or at least a VIP of some sort. Either way, it was better to ask her than some random person.
“Good morning, ma’am! I am Aisha Greyrat.”
“Oh my, what a polite child. What brings you to an old lady like me?”
“I’m looking for my older brother.”
“Your brother? Laurel? Why would you be looking for him?”
Aisha stared blankly at the old lady. She found it on her first try? That easily? She stared around, finding it strange. It was at that moment she saw something was off. By the mention of her brother’s name, everyone had stopped whatever they were doing and stared at her.
“You… know my brother?”
“Oh? Did you not know? Your brother is quite famous around these parts.”
The old lady said with a gentle smile as she continued.
“Your brother was surprisingly talented in playing with a woman's heart, you see.”
“…”
“Well, I only know your brother recently, so I can’t say that I know much… You’ll have to ask the rest about him.”
“Thank you, ma’am. Ah, I nearly forgot to ask for your name.”
“You can call me Reia.”
“Alright, thank you, Madam Reida!”
Aisha bowed politely, thanking the old lady for telling her about her brother. Just as she was about to leave, a pair of Beast Race girls with gray hair and red eyes jumped at her. One was a cat-eared girl, the other a dog-eared girl.
“So you’re the boss’s younger sister, eh?”
“Wait, Linia, are you sure this is a good idea?”
“Eh, it’ll be fine, Pursena. The boss is the boss, after all. He may be a little bit grumpy, but his heart is really big, mew.”
“Well, that’s true.”
“Anyway, I’m Linia Dedoldia, mew. Though you might not know it just by looking at me, I’m actually the daughter of Gyes, the Warrior Chief of the Great Forest’s Doldia Village. More importantly…”
The cat-eared girl named Linia said arrogantly as she put her hands on her hips.
“I am the boss’s woman, mew!”
“Wait, Linia… Actually, forget it. I’m Pursena. I’m basically the same as Linia.”
“… I see.”
Her brother was their boss; however, whether that implied that he was the boss of the place or just the boss of these two is unknown. Aisha thought of knowing more.
“How did the two of you meet my brother?”
The two girls went silent when Aisha asked the question. Linia looked at Pursena for a moment, but Pursena shook her head. As expected, her brother was trouble. Just as Aisha thought so, Linia turned to Aisha and said.
“The boss… was really good at smacking butts, mew.”
“That’s… true. He pretty much manhandled us that day with his deep voice and made us his personal slaves.”
Aisha’s brain malfunctioned. She could swear she heard the laughter of an old lady in the background, but it could’ve been her imagination.
“Pardon?”
“Well, he puts plenty of good stuff in my mouth, so no complaints there. Right, Linia?”
“Yup. As long as you are obedient, the boss won’t get violent, and he’d even coddle you, mew.”
Aisha stopped and stared at all the people surrounding them. Some were beast people, some were humans… but more importantly, the majority of them were women and children. Linia and Pursena were probably around 10 years old or something.
After asking around for more information about her older brother, she concluded a few things. Her older brother was trash worse than that prince in the palace; he either enslaved these women or coerced them to join his harem. It was without question that Aisha’s fate would be just as bad, perhaps a pleasure slave for her older brother in the future.
Aisha would hate that. She didn’t want to serve a man she had never met, much less such a horrible man who enslaved women. As she anxiously turned in search of the exit, she saw a man who was walking with her mother, Lilia, and a young woman with aquamarine hair.
Knowing that her mother was supportive of her brother’s perversion, Aisha pinned all her hopes to Mr. Timaeus. While only knowing him for a short while, she could tell that he was a nice man who cares greatly for her feelings. He might be able to help her.
…
Laurel’s POV.
…
Handling Pax wasn’t even a problem. I brought a bodyguard with me just in case, but it turns out my worries were excessive. He tried to lock me inside a barrier by dropping me, but unfortunately for him, I could fly.
“I don’t think that a mere prince who's not even a crown prince can afford to wage war against three king-ranked magicians, much less the numerous backers of Vast Expanse.”
It was obvious considering how rare they are, after all. Who would want to offend those kinds of people? After scaring him a bit, I turned to the Miko prince for assistance. Zanoba was… a little over the top.
“I-I didn’t…understand at all…and I’ve defiled…this creation…!”
His eyes went blank and his body started to convulse. Foam was spouting from his mouth… Yeah, it was pretty weird. Okay, I’m downplaying it. He was way over the top. I even had this weird conversation about why Rudeus’s Roxy figurine had a mole and why it was there.
To ensure no grudges were left for the future, I coaxed Pax into believing that Roxy wasn’t going to come because she’s on the Demon Continent and started to sell him corn pics for gold. I take that back; this whole family was weird.
Whatever the case, I managed to retrieve Lilia, so all’s well that ends well.
“It’s good to know that you and Aisha are doing well.”
“Thank you once again for saving our lives, young master.”
“Meh. It’s fine. By the way, Lilia…”
“?”
“My tenth birthday gift…”
I secretly pointed to my bodyguard with my thumb. A young girl with aquamarine hair and beautiful looks. It was without question that this girl would turn into a beauty.
“I received it well.”
“???”
Judging from Lilia’s utter confusion, it seems that this was never part of her plan. Not that it’s surprising anymore; my life was ruined by a series of coincidences. As we walked back to base together, I was greeted by Aisha’s crying.
“Wah! Mister Timaeus! Help me!”
I glared at my subordinates. All of them were just as confused.
“What’s wrong?”
“My brother is a violent, perverted man who turns women into sex slaves! Please help me! I don’t want to end up as a sex slave! Wah!”
“???”
But… but… but… What did I even do? I could feel my face heating up in embarrassment as all my subordinates and acquaintances held in their laughter. Except for the damn old hag laughing in the background.
“Sir, we’re back. As you expected, sir, those guards’s families were really taken hostage by—Uhm… Sir?”
I glared at the other bunch that came back. Damn it, all these bastards were in on it. Definitely. Why else are you all avoiding my gaze? You bastards. I turned to Pursena, who pinned the blame on Linia, and mouthed it.
[No chicken drumsticks for dinner!]
Damn it. Why did I think it was a good idea to have Pursena watch over her just because those three got along well in the novel? I can’t even face the two people standing next to me. Stop staring, damn it. I covered my face in embarrassment as sounds of Aisha crying and Reida’s laughing filled the room. I should’ve worn my mask today.
