Adrian Law pulled Cecilia Vaughn’s hand and headed straight to the VIP seats.

And there, indeed, there were two vacant seats. Initially, someone tried to ask the school if they were intentionally left empty and if they could take those seats, but they were refused, and there was also no mention of whom those seats belonged to.

Now seeing the rightful occupants return, the already curious audience craned their necks even more.

"Who are they? Making such a grand entrance and arriving so late?"

"Even Mr. Adams, the representative from Vesperia, arrived on time. Aren’t they too arrogant? Aren’t they afraid of embarrassing Veridia in front of Vesperians?"

Many fell silent upon seeing their faces.

For no other reason than beauty and handsomeness are always the most eye-catching, and Adrian Law and Cecilia Vaughn have an exceptional advantage in this regard.

The man was tall and not weak-looking, with deep-set and handsome features. Standing next to the petite Cecilia Vaughn, they were like a perfect couple.

Many people recognized their faces.

Adrian Law might not be as widely recognized, but Cecilia Vaughn was different. She was a prominent figure on Stellerton University’s campus beauty ranking. Although she only secured fourth or fifth place because Katherine North clung to Chloe Alden’s coattails, since Katherine North dropped out, many had subtly elevated Cecilia Vaughn to the top of the campus beauty ranks.

Though, Cecilia Vaughn didn’t care about such things.

...

Fiona Vaughn saw the two and immediately approached them shyly.

"Sister, why are you and Adrian late? Sister, I told you not to love dressing up so much. Look, there are so many foreigners here now, we really don’t want them thinking we Veridians are impolite."

Cecilia Vaughn looked at Fiona Vaughn with a half-smile.

"Love dressing up? Huh—"

Fiona Vaughn was stung by the heavy sarcasm in Cecilia’s eyes and instantly choked.

"Sister, did I say something wrong?"

Her voice was soft and weak, and her eyes welled up with crystal-clear tears, as if she was about to be bullied into crying by Cecilia Vaughn.

Many onlookers, because of Katherine North’s dropout, had already subconsciously assumed that Cecilia Vaughn was the kind of arrogant woman who was aggressive, and seeing Fiona Vaughn’s shoulders tremble, they felt even more sorry for her.

A male fan of Fiona Vaughn stood up to defend her.

"Cecilia Vaughn, even though you’re the sister of goddess Fiona, your tone is way too harsh!"

"What gives you the right to be so arrogant?! You were late and won’t even let others point it out! Furthermore, goddess Fiona is clearly concerned about you, about the collective reputation of our Veridian university students!"

Cecilia Vaughn gave the male fan of Fiona Vaughn a highly amused look and then slowly shifted her gaze back to Fiona Vaughn.

"So according to you, I was late today, and I have to bear such a big scapegoating, huh?"

Even being accused of damaging national honor, Cecilia Vaughn didn’t know whether to feel amused or absurd.

Rosalind White, seeing her still have the face to argue, stood out disdainfully.

"Cecilia Vaughn, what makes you so proud? Being late and still standing here so composedly? It’s one thing if you normally don’t understand etiquette, but embarrassing yourself in front of foreigners, making Adrian late because you dressed up, don’t you feel ashamed?"

...

Adrian Law shot a cold glance at Rosalind White.

Rosalind White’s heart skipped a beat when she saw his gaze.

She bit her lip, a bit embarrassed yet flustered, and raised her head.

"Adrian... I know you were late because of her... you don’t need to explain to everyone, if... if you don’t mind, you can even switch seats and sit with us."

While Rosalind White was talking to herself, Adrian Law’s cold voice rang in the air.

"Weren’t we late because of you? What does it have to do with Cecilia."

"???"

Rosalind White looked at Adrian Law in disbelief and shock, unable to believe he would say such a thing to her.

She clenched her hand, eyes pooling with tears.

"Adrian, even if you care about your sister-in-law, you can’t use me as a scapegoat, right? When did I make you late? Fiona can testify, I wanted to go with you, but didn’t you refuse to walk with us?"

Fiona Vaughn also looked mournfully and took hold of Rosalind White’s hand.

"Mr. Law, you can’t wrongly accuse Rosalind. She admires you so much, why would she make you late? If it’s because my sister is usually too picky about dressing, you don’t need to defend her."

Adrian Law glances over Fiona Vaughn and Rosalind White’s exquisite dresses with a cold glint in his eyes.

"Cecilia likes dressing up? Takes time? Are you sure?"

Adrian Law didn’t say more, merely cast a glance at Cecilia Vaughn’s down jacket and lined jeans.

Then he intentionally and slowly glanced over Fiona Vaughn and Rosalind White’s apparel.

In winter, Fiona Vaughn and Rosalind White both wore flowing long dresses, looking beautifully made-up with delicate hairstyles, clearly showing who actually loved dressing up.

The onlookers had initially been led astray by Fiona Vaughn’s words, but now seeing Cecilia Vaughn dressed so casually, even though her skin was flawless without makeup, it seemed she was just naturally beautiful.

Realizing her lie was exposed, Fiona Vaughn regretted making such a rash excuse in a moment of panic.

"Uh... maybe my sister had difficulty choosing and got here just in time?"

Fiona Vaughn tried to continue fabricating, but Adrian Law casually looked up, his eyes fixed on a recently arrived blonde-haired, blue-eyed woman.

It was Lilith Judy.

Lilith Judy really had no sense of direction. Although Stellerton University’s campus was vast, generally, no one would get lost repeatedly after having direction software. However, she managed to arrive even two minutes later than Cecilia Vaughn and Adrian Law.

Lilith Judy, sensing a chilling atmosphere in the air, shivered involuntarily.

Seeing Cecilia Vaughn, Adrian Law, and the two women insulting her, she narrowed her eyes in confusion and naturally wanted to ask Cecilia Vaughn about it.

...

Rosalind White’s face turned white immediately upon seeing Lilith Judy.

She simply chose the ostrich tactic, quickly pulling Fiona Vaughn along.

"Fiona, let’s go, it’s almost our turn to go on stage, let’s not miss the time."

Just when Rosalind White wanted to escape, Adrian Law nonchalantly stretched out his arm to block them.

"Adrian, what’s the meaning of this?"

"Apologize to my wife."

The man’s voice was cold and the simple words were weighty.
