Mr. Law's Official Announcement: He is a Wife-Doting Fanatic!
Chapter 524: A Man’s Torment
Cecilia Vaughn and Adrian Law naturally had no idea they had become the targets of someone else’s scheme. Even if they did know, they would just laugh it off.
Cecilia wasn’t really interested in the remaining auction items, so the two of them quickly drove back toward Starfall Bay.
The sunroof of the sports car was open, the roaring sound of the Bugatti Veyron’s engine filled the air, and the cold winter wind swept in through the sunroof. Cecilia felt exhilarated by it.
It was as if the wind could blow away all her troubles.
This was something Adrian had taught her.
At that time, she didn’t like the feeling of speeding along the road, but now there was a strange sense of joy.
"Cecilia, shall I close the sunroof? The night wind is cold, I’m afraid you’ll catch a cold."
During a red light stop, Adrian finally closed the sunroof slowly.
Cecilia pouted slightly, almost wanting to whisper in a playful tone, but before she could, the man handed her a pure black coat.
"Cover your feet with it, so you don’t catch a chill."
"..."
Cecilia felt both speechless and inexplicably sweet inside.
Even her late mother and her brother Evan Vaughn, who’s still in his senior year of high school, wouldn’t be as meticulous and considerate in fearing she’d be too cold or too hot.
Cecilia’s desire to continue enjoying the night breeze instantly vanished. Well, having a "housekeeper" at home isn’t bad at all.
...
When they returned to the Starfall Bay Villa, it was almost midnight. But Cecilia was wide awake, with no intention of sleeping. Coincidentally, someone was setting off fireworks nearby, their intoxicating colors blooming magnificently in the sky, like cornflowers or large magnolias.
Cecilia’s girlish excitement was instantly aroused, and she coyly clung to Adrian’s wrist.
"Adrian, let’s go to the rooftop to watch the fireworks, shall we?"
Adrian helplessly tapped Cecilia’s nose.
"It’s so late, time to rest, little silly."
"You’re the big silly! Such beautiful fireworks, and you want to miss it!"
Seeing Cecilia act like a little girl, playfully coaxing him, Adrian couldn’t help but smile, a warmth spreading through him.
—Perhaps this little woman in front of him hadn’t realized. When they had just gotten married, Cecilia’s attitude towards him was more of politeness and formality. It was more like being roommates than a married couple. She wouldn’t let her guard down or cling to him naturally to watch fireworks in the middle of the night.
Adrian gazed into the girl’s clear, glass-like eyes and finally nodded in resignation.
"Alright, but only for a little while."
...
"How about half an hour!?"
Cecilia’s eyes sparkled. She blinked her big eyes at Adrian, knowing all too well that this was when the man was most defenseless against her.
However, Adrian suddenly changed his previously agreeable tone.
"No, ten minutes at most, Mrs. Law, it’s time for us to rest."
The man’s eyes took on a dark, dangerous hue. He raised his elegant brow slightly, giving Cecilia a mischievous smile.
"If Madam really doesn’t want to sleep, then this long night, we could do something a little more interesting."
Cecilia’s face flushed red. She was no longer the naive girl who didn’t understand marital matters, and she immediately caught on to Adrian’s hidden meaning.
She finally conceded, obediently.
"Fine, ten minutes is ten minutes!"
...
The night wind was brisk and the winter chill harsh.
Even though Cecilia was wrapped more tightly than a dumpling, with two adorable little rabbit-fur balls constantly bouncing in front of her, Adrian still worried she might catch a cold.
This season, it’s so easy to catch a cold.
So, in the end, Adrian didn’t take her to the rooftop but chose to go to the villa’s uppermost greenhouse instead.
It was set up like a glass house, with one-way glass, and the temperature regulated by a smart thermostat to be around twenty degrees, perfect for plants to thrive, ensuring Cecilia wouldn’t catch a chill. She could stand before the panoramic glass window and admire the dazzling fireworks outside.
Although Cecilia was dissatisfied with Adrian’s sudden change of plans, she followed him obediently, thinking that the temperature there was good.
...
The two stood in front of the utterly transparent glass mirror. Cecilia saw the fireworks in the sky reflecting the lights of the world, giving a nearly fairytale-like splendor.
"Adrian, look! That seven-colored firework is beautiful, just like a bouquet of flowers blooming in different seasons..."
Just when Cecilia was marveling at the beauty of the fireworks, suddenly, a large hand inappropriately slipped into her collar.
"Cecilia, ten minutes have passed, the long night stretches ahead, how about we do something?"
Cecilia was stunned, then felt the man’s slightly cool palm move easily to the strap clasp at her back.
"You... you can’t!"
Cecilia’s face turned a rosy pink like a camellia, but Adrian’s mischievous hands were faster than her words. Before she could react, he had already unbuttoned her top.
The sudden feeling of losing restraint left Cecilia in a daze.
The man’s calloused, slightly rough large hands seemed to be encouraged by the endless possibilities, directly reaching forward and greedily shaping them into various forms.
"Ah... don’t touch there..."
With her most vulnerable spot thoroughly stimulated, Cecilia could hardly endure the teasing.
...
Even if she couldn’t see this scene herself, and was wrapped in a large winter coat, Cecilia’s face was already beet red.
"You’re shameless! Take your hand out! What if someone sees?"
Cecilia was close to tears, and Adrian finally withdrew his hand slowly. He deliberately brushed his lips against hers, his voice low, magnetic, and bewitching like a demon’s temptation.
"Cecilia, don’t worry, this glass is one-way, nobody outside can see us."
Cecilia had vaguely guessed this, otherwise, Adrian would never act in such a bold manner in a place where they were visible from all sides. But knowing this didn’t prevent her from feeling traditional at heart. It was already late at night, and such a rebellious action was something she found hard to accept.
Her face turned redder and redder, and finally, she tugged at the man’s hand, her voice soft as a mosquito’s.
"Adrian... shall we go back to the bedroom, I’m afraid... it might get cold here."
In the end, Cecilia managed to think of an excuse, but who would have thought Adrian would glance at her with a slight smirk.
"You’ve forgotten we can adjust the temperature here too."
"..."
Cecilia stomped her foot, ready to run away. But to her surprise, Adrian picked her up onto the railing, her legs dangling, hands resting against the rail.
"Cecilia, you can’t escape."
Gazing at the snow-white coat she herself had chosen, Adrian’s eyes glinted dangerously, pressing Cecilia against the transparent glass...
