Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure
Chapter 1130 - 1139: Ruthless Toward Kin
"I’m sorry, please let Mr. Lockwood know for me that I’ve been hit on the forehead and need to go to the hospital."
"How about we reschedule dinner with Mr. Lockwood for another day."
"Haha!"
The man chuckled lightly and retorted, "So you’re saying Mr. Fitzgerald doesn’t want to have dinner with our Mr. Lockwood."
"Is it that you look down on the Lockwood Family? Or Mr. Lockwood himself!"
"No, no!" President Fitzgerald waved his hands frantically, "Look, my wound is still bleeding."
"What if I get treated at the hospital and then immediately come back for dinner with President Lockwood?"
President Fitzgerald tried to appease, blaming Anna Morgan for hitting him like this; otherwise, he could have had dinner with Carter Lockwood tonight.
"Oh."
Carter’s assistant sneered lightly, and President Fitzgerald thought he agreed to let him leave, planning to apologize later.
After taking a few steps, he was stopped by the assistant’s people.
"Anyone Mr. Lockwood wants to invite, he will have them invited."
"President Fitzgerald, you better go in and speak with our Mr. Lockwood."
After that, President Fitzgerald was dragged inside by the bodyguards.
President Fitzgerald’s people wanted to intervene but were blocked at the door by the assistant.
Inside the private room, there was only Carter Lockwood.
Carter sat there smoking, seeing him enter, he told the assistant, "Fill Mr. Fitzgerald’s glass with wine."
President Fitzgerald was pressed into his seat by the bodyguards, looking at the overflowing red wine in front of him, feeling the blood streaming down his cheeks, he whispered, "Mr. Lockwood, I’m really sorry."
"About the injury I suffered!"
He spoke while looking at Carter’s cold, icy face, his heart trembled with panic. Glancing down at the brimming glass of liquor, President Fitzgerald took a deep breath.
"Mr. Lockwood, I’ll drink first as an apology."
Not wanting to offend this formidable presence of Carter Lockwood, he decided to finish the drink first before heading to the hospital to get his wound treated.
The liquor was very strong, with each gulp mixed with blood, it tasted so bad that President Fitzgerald felt like vomiting.
He had a very bad feeling.
Carter Lockwood hadn’t invited him to dinner but to settle scores, yet President Fitzgerald hadn’t done anything to offend Carter.
"Mr. Lockwood, I’ll head to the hospital to treat my wound."
After finishing the liquor, President Fitzgerald apologized to Carter Lockwood.
Carter coldly looked at him without speaking, and President Fitzgerald tried to stand but was pressed back down by the bodyguards.
Even after a drink, Carter wasn’t satisfied yet.
After a while, Carter spoke indifferently, his tone very icy.
"One Ford Family, one Grant Family, if you think that’s not enough, how about adding me too!"
President Fitzgerald was stunned, initially not understanding Carter’s words. As he looked down at the glass in front of him, he suddenly recalled Anna Morgan’s earlier threat involving the Grant and Ford families; could Carter be taking action for Anna?
He knew Anna Morgan was once Sean Lockwood’s fiancée.
Carter was Sean Lockwood’s uncle.
Surely an uncle wouldn’t retaliate for his niece-in-law!
President Fitzgerald looked again at Carter’s severely grim face and trembled as he asked, "I didn’t know Mr. Lockwood and Miss Monroe had such a relationship!"
A man standing up for a woman surely implied their relationship wasn’t simple.
"What relationship?"
Carter asked coldly.
President Fitzgerald’s face changed color; the more Carter spoke like this, the more certain he became that their relationship was extraordinary.
Today was really seeking death, having such crooked intentions towards Anna Morgan.
No matter how bad Anna Morgan was, she was still The Morgan Family’s eldest young lady.
"It’s my fault, it’s all my fault." President Fitzgerald resigned himself to his bad luck, he genuinely feared Carter Lockwood from the bottom of his heart.
Just by looking at Carter’s face, he felt scared, not to mention the ruthlessness Carter showed in dealing with matters, even with his own brother.
