Mr. CEO, You Look Strangely Familiar

Chapter 587: Chapter 576: Epilogue (14)
Mr. Lynch stepped forward and called out softly, “Maeve Sutton?”
Maeve Sutton looked up, calling out through her tears, “Lynch.”
“Why are you squatting by my front door? What happened to you?”
“Can I come in?”
Mr. Lynch nodded. “Come in with me.”
Once they were in the living room, Mr. Lynch finally saw the black and blue bruises covering Maeve Sutton’s face. She had clearly been beaten.
“What happened to your face?”
“William Chapman beat me.” Maeve Sutton had gone back to her parents’ house, but her own father had kicked her out. With nowhere else to go, she had ended up squatting at the Lynch family’s front gate.
Mr. Lynch felt a pang of pity for her, because her entire face was beaten beyond recognition.
“I’ll go get the first-aid kit. You should put some medicine on that.”
He turned and went back to his bedroom, and Maeve Sutton followed him.
After closing the door, Mr. Lynch brought out the first-aid kit. He opened it, squeezed out some ointment, and handed it to her. “Put this on yourself. That William Chapman is too vicious. Look what he’s done to you.”
Maeve Sutton felt deeply wronged. When she sat in front of the mirror, she cried even more sorrowfully. The reflection staring back at her barely looked human.
“Where is Mrs. Lynch?”
“She went to play mahjong,” Mr. Lynch said irritably. “I just went out looking for her, but I couldn’t find her.”
Maeve Sutton sat there. “It’s very late. Isn’t Mrs. Lynch coming back?”
“She plays all night. She won’t be back until morning.” The topic made Mr. Lynch angry. Not only was pulling all-nighters bad for her health, but she was also spending fifty thousand a day. No matter how rich they were, you couldn’t just burn money like that.
“Mrs. Lynch has so much energy,” Maeve Sutton said. “Lynch, could I sleep in the guest room for a couple of hours? I’ll leave before dawn.”
Mr. Lynch was a bit hesitant. The guest room was on the second floor, right next to Leon Lynch’s marital bedroom, so she would likely be discovered.
“How about this? You can sleep here on this bed. I’ll play Fight the Landlord. I’ll wake you before dawn.”
Maeve Sutton nodded. “Thank you, Lynch.”
Maeve Sutton took off her shoes, lay down on the bed, and closed her eyes to sleep.
Mr. Lynch sat in front of the computer playing Fight the Landlord. With a man and a woman alone together in a room, things were bound to get a little awkward.
Especially since Maeve Sutton was wearing a dress. As she lay there on her side, the skirt had naturally ridden up, exposing her long, slender thighs to a man in his fifties who hadn’t had sex in a very long time.
Mr. Lynch played Fight the Landlord for half an hour before shutting down the computer and lying down next to Maeve Sutton. Naturally, he couldn’t sleep.
Finally, he reached out and placed his hand on her rear. Maeve Sutton didn’t react; she remained perfectly still.
Mr. Lynch grew bolder. He lifted up her dress and was surprised to find she wasn’t wearing any panties.
He captured her mouth in a kiss, and the two of them let nature take its course, kissing with fiery passion.
Mr. Lynch turned off the light. He couldn’t see Maeve Sutton’s battered face, and as for her body alone, it was exquisite.
He parted her legs and began to move on top of her with ease.
Maeve Sutton’s moans were greatly pleasing to Mr. Lynch.
Maeve Sutton hadn’t been sleeping at all; she was only pretending. When Mr. Lynch touched her, she had enjoyed it.
Married to a scoundrel like William Chapman, with her own family refusing to help, she felt deeply wronged. She longed for a man to cherish her. The one she was always thinking about, Leon Lynch, had no interest in her at all. ‘His father will do, then.’
The two of them, on that large bed, began to go at it.
The night was deep.
It continued for four long hours.
When they finally stopped, Mr. Lynch felt young again.
He held Maeve Sutton’s body tightly. “From now on, let me dote on you, alright?”
His gentle voice made Maeve Sutton feel very secure.
“Lynch, you’re really something. Still so vigorous for your age.”
“I haven’t had sex in a long time,” he said. “As for Mrs. Lynch… I don’t know if it’s because she’s getting older, but she won’t let me touch her.”
“So do you go out and find other women?”
“No.”
Maeve Sutton turned on the light and picked up her clothes from the floor. “It’s three o’clock. It’s getting late, I should go.”
“It’s still early. Leaving at five isn’t too late.”
Maeve Sutton shook her head. “It wouldn’t be good if Mrs. Lynch found out.”
Mr. Lynch got out of bed, took a wad of cash from his bag, and handed it to her. “Melody, take this money. When it’s light out, go to the hospital to get your face checked out, and buy yourself something good to eat.”
Maeve Sutton took it. “Okay.”
Then she walked out, and Mr. Lynch saw her to the door.
When he came back inside, Mr. Lynch thought about how thrilling this kind of affair was. But actually, what he thought about more was the possibility that his own wife might be keeping a young lover on the side. The more he thought about it, the more likely it seemed.
“Wearing a dress under her coat in the middle of winter. She really must not feel the cold,” Mr. Lynch muttered to himself before falling asleep.
Mrs. Lynch came back at seven. When she got home, she saw Mr. Lynch was still asleep, so she took off her clothes and lay down beside him.
“Lost it all?”
Mrs. Lynch grunted, in a bad mood. “Not a penny left.”
“I knew it.”
Mrs. Lynch sighed. “My luck was pretty good for the first half of the night, but it went sour in the second half.”
“Where were you playing cards last night?”
“I already told you, the Spring Blooms Game Room.”
An idea flashed through Mr. Lynch’s mind, and he became even more certain of his suspicions.
He didn’t expose her directly. Instead, he wrapped his arm around her. “Honey.”
Mrs. Lynch shoved his hand away. “We’re an old married couple. What are you doing?”
Mr. Lynch awkwardly lowered his hand. “How are we old? We’re only in our fifties. Anyway, don’t go to sleep. Our son and daughter-in-law are up. Let’s all have breakfast together.”
Mrs. Lynch sat up indignantly. “It’s been months now, and we still have to eat breakfast together every morning. It’s all because of this stupid rule you made!”
Mr. Lynch was displeased. “What’s wrong with eating breakfast together? A family should eat breakfast together. If you don’t want to, then we won’t from now on. You can just skip breakfast entirely!”
“Haven’t we been good enough to *her*? The whole family has to accompany her for breakfast? When I think about the huge bride price Leon gave his mother-in-law, I get so angry. That massive bride price bought them two houses, even one for Holly’s younger brother! And what has my own biological son ever bought for me?”
“I just said, a family should eat breakfast together. Why do you blame everything on our daughter-in-law? What do you mean, ‘accompany her’? I already said, if you really don’t want to, then just go to sleep. You must be tired after playing cards all night.”
Mr. Lynch got dressed.
Mrs. Lynch sat up weakly, put on her slippers, and went into the bathroom to wash up.
When the couple came out, Holly Wood had already brought breakfast out from the kitchen.
“Mom, Dad, time to eat.”
“Okay.”
The four of them sat at the dining table. Leon Lynch asked, “Mom, you’ve been going out to play cards for several days straight. Aren’t you tired?”
Mrs. Lynch said matter-of-factly, “It’s my hobby. I’m not tired.”
“Your mom took a hundred thousand last night and lost every bit of it by this morning.”
Mrs. Lynch retorted, “I’ve only spent a few hundred thousand over the past few days. It’s not as much as the bride price you gave your mother-in-law.”
Leon Lynch shot his mother a look. “Why are you bringing that up? My mother-in-law raised Holly from a child until she joined our family. I think that’s more valuable than money. Besides, Mom, did you only lose a few hundred thousand these past few days? Last year, while Dad was back in his hometown, you lost ten million. Isn’t that a lot more than the bride price?”
