Chapter 1856: Boons of Origin Essence

Whoosh!

Allowing the Origin Essence to congregate at a certain point in his body, a look of relief appeared on Valyr’s face as he thought about how much effort he had put in to get to this point.

‘Once I assimilate this into my body, I’ll finally complete the first realm of this skill.’

Psyching himself up one last time, the young man soon converted the Origin Essence he had gathered, allowing it to take on a form that was more suitable for his body to absorb.

Then, little by little, he began to distribute this energy over to various parts of his body, giving him the feeling that his strength was increasing yet again.

By the time he was done, the young man glanced at his handiwork, seeing that he had pretty much covered the insides of his body with Origin Essence.

Feeling a sense of fullness from this sight, he soon opened his eyes, only to see that Zenith was looking back at him with a slight smile.

Faintly smiling in return, Valyr went ahead and brought up the skill’s description to see how much of a boost it gave him now that all 100 circulations were complete.

However, just as he was about to take a look at the screen that popped up, he noticed that the orb of True Origin Essence Zenith conjured was still there.

“Say…” Valyr pointed at the orb. “Why’s that still there?”

“The orb?” asked Zenith in response.

The former nodded.

“Aside from reducing the amount of time needed for you to first sense the energy’s existence, it also reduces the time needed for you to complete a circulation of the technique.”

Understanding what the young man wanted to know, the being went ahead and clarified the confusion the former had about the orb.

“Of course, if your affinity with Origin Essence were incredibly high, then even without the orb, the time it would take for you to complete a circulation would more or less match up with what’s written on the skill,” said Zenith.

“But at your level of affinity, you’d be looking at increasing the total time per circulation by around two to three hours,” it added, causing Valyr to suck in a breath of cold air.

With each circulation increasing the time needed to complete the next one by 2 minutes, the time Valyr took to complete the 100th circulation was around three hours greater than the time needed for the first.

Although a couple more hours didn’t seem like much for now, the young man could only imagine how much time the later circulations would take up, especially once he got to the higher realms.

By that point, he wouldn’t even be surprised if it took weeks just for one circulation to be done.

“So, does that added time only apply here or…?” Valyr asked after giving Zenith’s words some thought.

“It might be a bit less back on the outside, but it more or less applies,” replied the latter, prompting him to nod in understanding.

“In any case, now that you’ve completed the first realm of the technique, I have no reason to keep this orb.”

As those words left its mouth, the being snapped its fingers, causing the orb to collapse into a myriad number of pure white strands.

Then, it proceeded to send those strands back to the massive structure, which easily absorbed it all as if it was a part of it from the very start.

Briefly glancing at the segment of the structure where the Origin Essence disappeared, Valyr soon returned his attention to the screen he brought up, finally allowing him to see the fruits of his labor.

Ding!

‘Now that I know the actual values, my earlier estimates of it being equivalent to an Epic or Legendary-grade title was actually wrong.’

‘If anything, it feels more like an Uncommon-grade title. Perhaps a Rare-grade one if I were to include the boost to HP and MP.’

Although Valyr felt satisfied seeing the 100% value beside the energy’s current realm, he could not help but feel a bit of disappointment after seeing the pitiful amount of stats the skill gave him.

‘But then again, this is only the first realm,’ reminded the young man to himself. ‘I still have six more realms to go.’

“You know, you could ascend the skill to the next realm.” As if it knew what the young man was thinking, Zenith gave him a reminder. “You’ve already pushed the first realm to completion, after all.”

“Right.” Being reminded of the option, Valyr briefly looked at the skill once more as he thought about the two weeks or so that he had spent grinding it out.

Already somewhat dreading the time he would have to spend just to complete the next realm, the young man set all of those thoughts aside for now as he looked through the information the skill gave him.

After searching through his mind for a bit, he eventually found the steps he needed to follow to ascend the skill to the next realm.

‘Unlike the four-step process for the circulation, ascending the skill only takes two steps,’ muttered the young man to himself as he closed his eyes.

Keeping those two steps in mind, the young man soon began to sense the Origin Essence in the surroundings, only to slightly frown as he noticed that it now took longer for him to sense the energy.

‘Right. Zenith removed the orb.’ Briefly recalling what happened just now, the young man returned his attention to the matter at hand as he proceeded with the second step of the ascension process.

Resonance.

Hope to see you there!
