MMORPG: Birth of the World's Luckiest Player
Chapter 620: The Golden Rabbit King’s Fury
But then, something went wrong.
The white teleportation gate flickered, and instead of the familiar figure of the Fluffy Rabbit, two black-armored knights riding towering steeds emerged from the passage.
The Golden Rabbit King was sharp enough to understand what had happened almost instantly.
"Carrot Attack!"
The warmth and anticipation vanished from the rabbit’s face in an instant, replaced by the savage ferocity of a monster defending its territory. Its front paws swept through the air, and a gigantic golden carrot suddenly materialized overhead before crashing down toward Marcus and Pebble with terrifying force.
’That carrot looks familiar.’
Marcus immediately remembered the Fluffy Rabbit’s attack back in Newbie Village. That rabbit had also thrown carrots at him, although this one was on an entirely different level. The enormous golden carrot was nearly the size of a millstone, and dense metal-element energy pulsed from its surface as it came crashing down. Just from its momentum alone, Marcus could tell that taking the hit head-on was going to hurt.
-4,200
-4,100
Sure enough, the golden carrot slammed into them.
Both Marcus and Pebble were struck, each losing more than 4,000 HP as the enormous impact shattered their stealth and knocked them out of Wraith Shadow.
"Damn!"
Marcus’s heart lurched.
That was insane.
Back in the Black Serpent Cave, those Level 80 Silver-tier Iceflame Black Serpent Men had only been able to deal around 5,000 damage to him, and that had been before taking into account the protection of his Divine-tier Adamant Shield. Yet now, even with the Adamant Shield raised, his upgraded equipment, mask, new rings, and wings all equipped, this Golden Rabbit King had still taken away more than 4,000 HP with a single basic skill.
And it clearly hadn’t even been serious. This was only Carrot Attack, a basic skill.
The difference was enough to make Marcus’s expression turn solemn. The Golden Rabbit King was clearly far stronger than those Level 80 Silver-tier serpent men. This quest was nowhere near as simple as he had originally imagined. The Village Chief had actually told him to come here at Level 50?
That was ridiculous.
Either the old man had deliberately sent him somewhere he was likely to die, or the Golden Rabbit King had become exponentially stronger over the past twenty years.
Probably both.
"Hyah!"
Marcus immediately kicked Blackie into motion, sending the Nightmare Dragon Steed shooting upward. Rabbits couldn’t fly, so he needed to put some distance between himself and the monster, get a proper look at the battlefield, and figure out how he was going to deal with this thing.
What surprised him most was that the Wraith Cloak’s stealth had been completely useless. The Golden Rabbit King had spotted him and Pebble the instant they appeared.
This thing definitely wasn’t an ordinary monster.
Fortunately, there was still one advantage on his side. Rabbits couldn’t fly.
Even the Golden Rabbit King, the terrifying ruler of Newbie Village who had slaughtered countless people, had no way to reach Marcus once he climbed beyond fifty meters. The rabbit’s ranged magic attacks couldn’t reach that height, leaving it with no choice but to stand below and glare upward, its golden eyes filled with fury.
Marcus couldn’t help letting out a quiet breath of relief.
At least he had a safe position from which to fight.
Then the system notification sounded.
Ding!
[Player Stonehaven, please note: the Golden Rabbit King guarding the Divine Bamboo Paradise cannot reach you. It has triggered an alarm and alerted the Dark Assassin Seven-Soul Devil. The Seven-Soul Devil is currently rushing here at full speed. Estimated arrival time: one hour.]
Marcus’s expression changed.
’Perfect.’
So there was a time limit after all.
If he couldn’t deal with the Golden Rabbit King within an hour, the Seven-Soul Devil would arrive, and once that happened, he could forget about taking any of the treasures inside the Divine Bamboo Paradise.
"Screw you!"
Marcus shouted down at the cunning and ridiculously powerful rabbit, then immediately activated Insight.
—
Golden Rabbit King: Level 50 Low-Tier Mythic Beast.
Health: 1,300,000.
Originally an ordinary rabbit from Newbie Village, it experienced a tremendous increase in strength after consuming the divine fruit Seven-Leaf Carrot. It subsequently spent twenty years training alongside the Dark Assassin Seven-Soul Devil in the energy-rich Divine Bamboo Paradise, causing its strength to increase at an astonishing rate. It reached the Mythic Beast tier two years ago.
"Damn."
Marcus’s eyes widened. So this was a Level 50 Low-Tier Mythic Beast.
No wonder it was so absurdly powerful. Now everything made sense. A Mythic Beast at Level 50 was naturally going to be far more frightening than a Level 80 Iceflame Serpent man.
Yet instead of making Marcus retreat, the information made his blood start boiling.
His heart pounded harder, and an uncontrollable grin spread across his face.
"Yes!"
He couldn’t help shouting in excitement.
"Finally! A Mythic Beast to fight!"
If this had been a High-Tier Mythic Beast, Marcus would have had no choice but to turn around and run. But a Level 50 Low-Tier Mythic Beast was different. With his current equipment and abilities, he actually had a chance. He couldn’t guarantee victory, but the outcome was far from predetermined.
And, more importantly, he still had the Thousand Needles as his trump card.
That was enough to make this battle worth taking seriously.
Marcus immediately opened the squad chat and typed:
"Ladies and gentlemen, the Golden Rabbit King is a Level 50 Low-Tier Mythic Beast!"
The squad erupted with excited responses almost immediately, but Marcus paid little attention to them. He focused entirely on the Golden Rabbit King below and continued examining its complete attributes, committing every dangerous ability to memory.

—
Marcus’s expression slowly became serious.
"Damn."
Five clones. Five Golden Burst Charges launched simultaneously across a wide area. There was no need to calculate the result, that attack would absolutely one-shot him.
Even if his stats were doubled, Marcus seriously doubted he could survive being hit by that kind of combined assault. The Golden Rabbit King’s ridiculous Luck stat made the situation even more dangerous, since he couldn’t simply assume that the attack would behave exactly as the description suggested.
Mythic Beasts really were brutal, but Marcus wasn’t intimidated.
The moment he finished reading the Golden Rabbit King’s attributes, he stopped wasting time. His equipment had already been switched to the Twin-Winged Ice Owl Bow, and he had loaded his Blazing Explosive Arrows.
His gaze locked onto the golden rabbit below.
