"It is I who should be thanking you, Master Mentor.

"You have allowed me to experience a pleasure I have long missed! Everything I do is for pleasure...

</path> war, rebellion, suppression... battle brings me pleasure!

"It's just a pity that war can no longer bring me pleasure now. I crave that kind of exhilarating, all-out combat!"

"Pleasure?"

Loren keenly caught the key word. He put away the Emperor Card and stepped forward to pat the King on the shoulder:

"What's your name?"

"My name is Scarra."

The King didn't find it presumptuous that Loren didn't know his name.

"The battlefields of the mortal world are too dull. Do you want to fight angels? Or perhaps Orthodox Gods."

"Really? Can I?"

Scarra held no reverence for the gods whatsoever. His eyes burned only with a thirst for battle, so much so that the soldiers nearby felt a hint of fear:

"What I enjoy is a thrilling, all-out fight, not being instantly killed without even seeing my enemy.

"I am strong, but I also know the gap between me and an angel."

"Of course you can."

A personality like Scarra's would be something Cassian would appreciate.

"Come, repeat after me, Cassian, God of Pleasure."

Loren didn't need to do anything else. He just needed Scarra to catch Cassian's attention.

If he was interesting enough, no complex ritual would be needed. Cassian would set his sights on him on his own.

And once that happened, even if Scarra wanted to make Cassian leave, it would be useless.

"Cassian, God of Pleasure!"

Scarra was exceptionally excited when he chanted the name. He knew exactly what Loren was doing right now.

Although he had never heard of Cassian's name before, he could still deduce what it meant.

Cassian was the God of Pleasure, and most Outer Gods' authorities were tied to emotions. Combined with the many rumors about Loren, Scarra was certain Cassian was an Outer God.

"Observer, thank you for the gift you sent me, and I hope you like the gift I'm sending you..."

Loren's mind once again echoed with Cassian's voice, except this time, His address for Loren had shifted from "Master Mentor" to "Observer."

"Gift?"

It was only when Cassian brought it up that Loren finally remembered something.

Back when he had faced those angels, Loren had forcibly borrowed Cassian's power. At the time, He had clearly stated that there would be a price to pay.

The "gift" Cassian spoke of now was presumably the price Loren had to pay, only Loren had absolutely no idea what it was.

This was Cassian's personality. Just to mess with Loren, he would rather risk his own corruption.

So Cassian would definitely not be stingy with Scarra either.

Under Loren's gaze, Scarra's head suddenly dropped off.

"?"

"Is he dead?"

As Scarra's body collapsed, Laila quipped.

"He probably isn't dead. Even if he is dead, it wouldn't be in such an uncreative way..."

Loren knew Cassian very well. He might suddenly kill Scarra, but he wouldn't do it so hastily. Even if he set Scarra off like a firework, that would be better than this.

Sure enough, not long after Loren finished explaining, the head on the ground suddenly began to melt, and then it came to life.

The mass of flesh squirmed across the ground, slowly crawling onto Scarra's corpse, occupying the position of the head.

Then, a thing like bloody crimson slime appeared atop Scarra's neck, upon which a face and features gradually emerged. It just looked extremely bizarre.

"Hahaha..."

The moment this thing became a head, it immediately burst into laughter. If this thing could shed tears, Loren would suspect Scarra would laugh until he cried.

"Master Mentor! I sincerely thank you again! Without you, I feel my entire life would have been wasted!"

Since Scarra was this excited, it meant the ability he obtained was powerful enough. Loren casually asked:

"What ability did you get?"

"An immortal body."

"Is immortality this cheap these days? And isn't that the Goddess of Love's authority? How did you obtain it?"

Upon learning Scarra had an immortal body, Loren wasn't particularly shocked, just a little curious.

"My soul has been fixed inside that mass of flesh. I can now possess any corpse and gain the abilities of that corpse.

"As long as my soul is not extinguished, I will never die."

"..."

Loren didn't respond. He just felt the sense of deja vu was a little too strong. Maybe Cassian actually played roguelike games.

The epidemic, the King, an immortal body that could possess corpses... it all matched perfectly...

"Alright, have fun playing by yourself. I'm heading off."

Loren didn't linger there much longer. He was just casually adding some trouble for the Orthodox Gods.

As for whether Scarra would eventually be killed by Death, Loren couldn't be bothered. It didn't matter if he died anyway. This was all just Loren's whimsy.

...

"Loren, is this Scarra really reliable? Will he cause us any trouble?"

"I don't know. No matter how dangerous he is, he can't be more dangerous than Noah. Noah's immortality and madness are both above Scarra's.

"Besides, he only has a portion of the God of Pleasure's abilities. Once I obtain the Death Card, I can kill him with a flick of my hand."

As long as one hadn't obtained an authority, they could be killed by the Death Card, whether they were an angel or a follower of an Outer God.

Even Outer Gods weren't spared. The reason Orthodox Gods could evade the Death Card was simply because They had stolen the authority of The Final Singer, and the Death Card of the Perpetual Observer judged them as colleagues, so it couldn't kill them.

Otherwise, given the Perpetual Observer's status, even an Outer God would just be a speed bump.

"Then can he cause trouble for the Orthodox Gods?"

"Not yet. Scarra, who can resurrect infinitely, is nothing more than turning from a speed bump into a mosquito. But if he manages to possess an angel's corpse, then things would be different."

"Alright..."

Laila acknowledged with a simple response and fell silent, letting Loren carry her as they flew toward the sea. They were now heading to regroup with the Witches.

She also didn't know about the price. Loren had been pondering the whole time what exactly Cassian would make him pay.

Those prices varied, some heavy, some light, some simply counting as rewards. Loren had no idea which kind it would be. This kind of unknown situation was the most troublesome.

But at this point, worrying wouldn't do Loren any good. He could only cross that bridge when he came to it. Besides, Cassian wouldn't dare to hit Loren with anything truly severe.

...

"Gwen, stop singing."

A young woman dressed in a purple dress shook her head. Her voice was filled with a mechanical quality, extremely out of place with this era.

"Stop nagging."

The blue-haired young woman beside her shot right back, except her expression looked somewhat sweetly cute, completely at odds with her own appearance.

"Do you even know where Master is?"

"I don't know, but we can go find Cecelia first. She should still be there."
