Miss Witch’s Devotion Has Gone… Twisted
Chapter 632: The Facade Woman
"We came to the wrong place..."
Loren let out a sigh, while Anna, who had been ready to dig into a big meal, froze in shock, the knife and fork slipping from her hands and clattering to the floor.
The woman before them continued slicing off more meat, lining it up neatly on the iron griddle, as if she felt nothing at all.
The blood stopped flowing shortly after the meat was cut, but the wounds didn't heal. This way, others could admire the injuries while not letting too much blood ruin the taste of the food.
"The rich really do have some twisted hobbies."
This sort of thing wasn't rare, it was quite common in the territory of the God of Pain.
That woman was definitely a Follower of Pain. She couldn't feel pain, and such injuries wouldn't kill her. At most, it was just selling her body.
Besides, this was a case of mutual consent, a willing buyer and a willing seller. It counted as a fair transaction.
The cooked meat was distributed by the woman to the customers gathered around the griddle. Loren and his group each received a small piece as well.
The next dish was organs. The woman sliced open her own belly, laid her intestines directly onto the iron griddle, and waited until they were seared to just the right doneness before cutting them into pieces."So disgusting..."
Laila suddenly remarked, instantly drawing the stares of everyone around her. In that moment, she seemed like the odd one out.
"Ugh..."
Scarlett let out a retching sound. Having followed Loren for so long, her tolerance had improved considerably, but this was still beyond what she could stomach.
"Let's get out of here."
There was no point staying in this place. Loren wasn't hungry enough to resort to cannibalism, and staring at all this was a mental torment in itself.
Seeing Loren and his group leave, no one stepped forward to stop them. They could tell Loren wasn't an ordinary person, he just couldn't accept cannibalism.
Better to avoid unnecessary trouble. In the end, no one bothered Loren, nor did they drag him back to settle the bill.
What they were doing here might be done out in the open, but it was still illegal. The less attention drawn, the better.
Just as Loren reached the door, he suddenly heard applause.
By now, the woman from before had fallen unconscious, and a new chef had taken her place. It was a little girl.
They had even thoughtfully prepared a smaller knife for her.
"I can't stand this anymore."
Loren turned around and walked back to his previous spot.
The people witnessing this didn't make a fuss. Their attention was all on the child before them.
Even in a place like this, this child was considered premium ingredients.
Loren didn't waste any words. He simply kicked the iron griddle over with one foot. The little girl in front of him was startled by the sudden commotion and curled up in the corner.
She wasn't afraid of the customers who wanted to eat her, but she was afraid of Loren, the one who flipped the table. This place had truly become twisted.
The table was overturned by Loren, and still no one made a fuss. Such things were quite common here. People with higher moral standards would often wander in by mistake, then do something about it because they couldn't bear to watch.
But their endings were never good. In fact, this had become a signature show for this establishment. They thoroughly enjoyed watching these self-righteous people get beaten down by reality.
This was also why they operated so brazenly.
Soon, a group of bodyguards surrounded them. Most of them were mages, but Loren couldn't discern their cultivation levels.
It was just a matter of how much damage overflow there would be.
"Who are you? How dare you cause trouble here?"
Before making a move, they cautiously asked one question.
Even now, the establishment didn't really want a conflict. If Loren truly had some formidable backing, they would be willing to settle for compensation.
"You should all know who I am."
Loren said nothing more, simply dispelling the concealment on his face.
"Loren, the Master of Witches?"
Everyone present was a big shot with some reputation, so of course they all knew Loren.
They weren't certain this was the real Loren, but they didn't dare gamble on it. Besides, this really did seem like something Loren would do.
The moment they saw Loren's face, people scrambled desperately toward the exit. The bodyguards surrounding Loren, however, remained unmoved.
After all, they had been paid a handsome sum. If they fled without even confirming whether this was the real deal, they'd be finished.
"Whoever runs, dies."
Loren snapped his fingers, and the people who had reached the door were instantly split in half. Their corpses piled up and blocked the exit.
Seeing Loren's methods, they finally confirmed his identity at that moment. But it was already too late to run.
"Ugh..."
Loren glanced at the girl, sighed, and walked out of the place.
In truth, there wasn't much his group could do here. Killing these people would accomplish nothing. The moment he left, new ones would rise to take their place.
To change anything, he would first have to change this world.
Seeing Loren leave, the people inside the restaurant hadn't even had a chance to catch their breath when they overheard Loren and Anna's conversation:
"Master Mentor, what should we do with those people?"
"Kill them all. Anyone who can set foot in a place like this isn't exactly innocent."
"Understood."
This time, Anna didn't even bother re-entering the restaurant. She simply stood outside and swung her scythe.
In an instant, the Scythe of Harvest unleashed massive arcs of energy, carving the restaurant to pieces.
With her Arcane Ability, Anna could lock onto every single person inside, so no one would be left alive.
"Master Mentor, can we still go to another restaurant to eat?"
Anna had Scarlett retrieve the Scythe of Harvest and asked.
"I'm afraid not. We've made quite a scene here. Let's spread word of my honored name and then leave. We'll head to the territory of the God of Night and Thunder to have our meal."
Loren still hadn't hidden his face. The people nearby, drawn by the commotion, came to check what was happening, and then they saw Loren.
"The Master of Witches is here! Run for your lives!"
Some random extra shouted, which left Loren feeling a bit frustrated. He never thought he'd sink to such a level.
"Let's just go. The sooner we get there, the sooner we find Luna, and then we can all eat together."
Loren stroked Starnight, who was perched on his shoulder. Then Starnight flew out and transformed into a giant dragon before everyone's eyes.
"I am Loren, the Perpetual Observer. Remember it well."
Before mounting Starnight, Loren flew into the air and shouted. Wind magic carried his voice across the entire nation. Then Loren landed on Starnight's back, ready to leave.
"Wow, you can ride a dragon..."
Seeing Starnight transform into a massive dragon, Scarlett grew excited. She found it fascinating too.
"Wait... Master Mentor!"
Just before Loren departed, he suddenly heard someone calling out to him. No one called him that except the witches.
When Loren looked toward the source of the voice, what he saw was that fat woman with thin lips and protruding cheekbones. Loren's face instantly fell.
"Master Mentor, I've liked you for so long. Please take me with you..."
"Get lost."
Loren felt a wave of nausea wash over him and wasted no time telling Starnight to leave immediately.
Not to mention she was ugly, but yesterday Loren had seen her with another man.
"Master Mentor, who was that beauty?"
After Starnight took off, Anna suddenly asked.
"A beauty... Are you blind... Wait..."
Loren thought of something. What he saw was a plain-faced woman, but what Anna saw was a beauty. No doubt her previous companion had seen a beauty as well.
She could change her appearance. It was just that Loren, because of his True Sight Eye, couldn't see through her altered visage.
