Chapter 127: Chapter 108: Bloody Party (Part 2)
"What are you outsiders trying to do? Are you planning to invade our Blue Moon Territory?"
"That’s right, you country bumpkins from Green Shade Territory! Get the hell out of our Blue Moon Territory."
"Blue Moon Territory belongs to the people of Blue Moon, and it will never be handed over to outsiders!"
Their fierce but fearful proclamations made Lian chuckle.
"Heh."
Lian waved his hand, and at his signal, Kob and the others sheathed their blades.
"What are you laughing at, you illegitimate child of Moria? You disgraceful nobody."
Baron Bramo berated Lian.
He couldn’t stand handsome men like Lian, likely because his wife was constantly cheating on him. When he evacuated, he deliberately left her behind. He watched as his first wife died in Blue Moon Territory, which then allowed him to inherit the massive fortune she left behind.
Catherine had been listening to everyone’s accusations in silence. But when she heard what Baron Bramo said to Lian, she finally couldn’t hold back and spoke up.
"Baron Bramo, apologize for your rudeness."
"My rudeness? How was I rude? Is he not Moria’s illegitimate child?"
As Baron Bramo spoke, he led all the old nobles of Blue Moon Territory in derisive laughter, showing Catherine no respect whatsoever.
Lian began to laugh along with them.
"Hahaha."
Seeing Lian laughing too, they all showed expressions of confusion.
’They had no idea what this guy was laughing about.’
"What are you laughing at?"
Finally, someone couldn’t hold it in any longer and asked.
Lian raised his wine glass with a smile. "I’m laughing at a group of idiots whose brains have been kicked by a donkey, who think that a few Knight Orders, totaling no more than five or six hundred men, can stand against my army of 200,000. And you even dare to provoke the master of the castle right here."
The nobles exchanged glances.
"An army of 200,000? Didn’t the reports say they had less than 10,000 men?"
"The intelligence must have been wrong! How could there be so many? How did they cross the Bone Forest to get here?"
"He must be bluffing. I don’t believe it."
"That’s right. No one could lead an army of 200,000 through the Bone Forest."
It wasn’t the nobles’ fault for misjudging the strength of Lian’s army.
First of all, simply crossing the Bone Forest to reach Blue Moon Territory was an incredibly difficult feat, let alone bringing a massive army.
How could they have known that Lian had already conquered the Bone Forest and renamed it the Golden Forest?
Even Mary didn’t know.
Furthermore, Lian had divided his army into three parts. The vanguard that first entered Blue Moon Territory had been broken up, with only one contingent stationed outside the High Wall, while another followed him to Blue Moon Castle.
They only appeared to number a few thousand.
This was why the nobles mistakenly believed that Lian had only brought this many men in total.
If it were just a few thousand ordinary guards, the nobles were confident that their combined Knight Orders could definitely defeat them.
"Do you really think we’re that easy to fool? You illegitimate child."
Baron Bramo said again, his tone imperious.
The next second, the baron’s head was sliced cleanly from his neck. It rolled across the floor like a watermelon.
Lian sheathed his Broken Blade Snow Walk. His movements had been so fast that not a single drop of filthy blood had touched him.
In contrast, the knights standing closest to the baron were splattered with his blood.
"AHHH—"
The nobles shrieked in panic.
The servants in the banquet hall, utterly terrified, scattered and fled.
Alex Pool, Kob, and their men, however, stood their ground, once again drawing their weapons.
The atmosphere instantly became tense and hostile again.
The members of the Knight Orders nervously formed a circle around their noble lords, drew their weapons, and watched their surroundings warily.
Although the Knight Orders of these native nobles numbered five or six hundred men in total, only a few dozen of the higher-ranking Knight Commanders had been allowed into the banquet hall.
The situation even stunned Hickman, the Knight Commander of the Polestar Knight Order.
He had never imagined Lian to be so ruthless. To publicly execute a noble was a grave crime anywhere.
Besides, Lian’s speed was something that even he, a Five-star Knight, had failed to perceive.
’The speed of that draw... no, that strike was just too fast.’
’Does he also follow the Knight’s Path?’
High Priest Cosme Pizarro’s expression didn’t change as he continued to eat the delicacies on his plate.
The knife and fork in his hands elegantly carved the foie gras on his plate, as if all the chaos in the world could not stop him from enjoying his meal.
Under the influence of the Grand Priest’s calm demeanor, the Priests also did their best to maintain their inner peace and not get involved in the impending riot.
"Lian Moria, you killed Baron Bramo! Is this a declaration of war on Blue Moon Territory?!"
Hobs, who had taken the lead, said, his voice filled with uncontrollable rage.
But most of the other nobles were terrified. They feared a man like Lian, who was so insane and refused to play by the rules.
"My apologies. I am Catherine’s fiancé. The one I struck down was an arrogant fool who insulted my betrothed. I don’t know any Baron Bramo, nor do I know any of you. All I know is that this is Blue Moon Castle, and my fiancée, Catherine, is the heir to the Lord of Blue Moon Territory. Anyone who dares to insult her—or her fiancé—in Blue Moon Castle deserves to be executed on the spot."
Lian feigned ignorance. To him, their noble status was a complete joke.
He looked at Catherine and asked gently,
"Catherine, do you know them?"
Catherine slowly shook her head. "I only know Jackson’s vassals. I don’t know them."
A single sentence, and the native nobles of Blue Moon Territory felt as if they had been plunged into an ice cave.
