Chapter 1373: Planar Level And Above

As Chu Feng was lost in thought, a voice echoed in his mind as a miniature figure appeared on his shoulder.

"That’s a nice mindset. The Path to the Peak is a slow and steady one. Even I took a couple of epochs to get to my previous Existential State."

The miniature figure was an extremely old man. He possessed white hair and a white beard, and he wore a white haori over his body. His white hair and beard came as a result of old age. Clearly, this wasn’t his physical body but a manifestation of some sort, but even this manifestation possessed a sagely presence and demeanor that couldn’t be found in the Ecliptica Galaxy.

Although Chu Feng was having a personal thought, the Old Man had still read Chu Feng’s thoughts. Chu Feng had told the Old Man to stop reading his mind and thoughts, but this Old Man never agreed.

Chu Feng, hearing his Master’s voice in his mind, didn’t speak at first. After a moment, he spoke.

"What’s the use of everything if someone like you, who even Transcended your Universe and stepped into Realms you refuse to speak about, could be killed? What is truly the use of everything if immortality is just a myth?"

Chu Feng asked the Old Man telepathically, as only he could see the man while everyone else remained oblivious to the man’s existence.

The Old Man sighed as he replied.

"I’ve told you before, there are various types of Immortality, but you are just too stubborn to listen. Everything that has life shall face death one way or the other, but coming back after Death and transcending it is also Immortality. It just depends on which angle and scope you decide to look at Immortality from."

He stated as he shook his head with a tired expression, as this disciple of his was really tiring. Even those who had been rejected by Death itself as a Concept could still be killed by those who had transcended Death as a Concept. He, too, had transcended Death, yet he was killed.

"Besides, if you want to know about hidden Realms, Existential States, and all that, then grow stronger. If I tell you about it, you will simply just die, your soul burning out of existence for knowing secrets your Existence can’t hear."

The Old Man continued as he sat down on Chu Feng’s right shoulder and watched Jerry, Lora Vake, and Tory Hale discuss amongst each other.

"Yeah. Yeah. Whatever."

Chu Feng replied without the slightest bit of interest, as he had heard that line countless times. It would probably take him a million years just to get to the required level to hear whatever secrets his Existence couldn’t bear.

His eyes shifted towards Anthony for a moment as he asked the Old Man.

"Do you think Anthony would be able to bear it if he hears whatever secrets you have?"

He asked, simply curious to know, nothing more.

The Old Man’s eyes shifted towards Anthony for a moment, then he spoke in a calm tone.

"He will survive."

His tone was certain, as he seemed to know more than he let on.

Chu Feng stayed silent for a moment, then smiled as he had already expected such an answer. After hearing the busted abilities and skills Anthony possessed, he had come to the conclusion that "anything goes" when it came to Anthony.

"What do you think of him?" He asked the Old Man.

The Old Man stayed silent for a moment, then shook his head as he spoke in a humbling tone.

"I honestly... don’t know."

The words caused Chu Feng to pause in surprise, as he couldn’t believe what he had just heard. This Old Man had read every Eternal Apex, every Progenitor, every Cultivator, every artefact, and whatnot like it was no different from breathing to him. And now he was saying he didn’t know, which surprised him, who already had the mindset of "anything goes" when it came to Anthony.

The Old Man whom he had made an exception for ended up not being an exception after all.

Reading Chu Feng’s thoughts, the Old Man decided to elaborate.

"Don’t misunderstand. I can definitely find out anything about him if I wanted to, but he would know that I used an ability to find out something about him, hence becoming aware of my existence."

He explained to his disciple in a calm tone as he continued staring at Anthony with immense interest. Anthony’s track record and currently known records left him intrigued and wanting to know more.

Chu Feng stayed silent for a moment, then replied.

"How can you even know when you didn’t even try?"

"Call it a gut feeling," the Old Man replied flatly, as it was indeed just a gut feeling.

Chu Feng simply nodded and didn’t argue with the Old Man. After a moment, he asked one final question.

"Based on everything you’ve heard and seen, how long do you think it will take for Anthony to get to the level you were on before you died?"

At Chu Feng’s question, the Old Man stayed silent for a moment as he made a mental calculation.

"He is twenty-one now, so probably by the time he is a century years old."

He answered honestly after a moment of thought. But deep down, he knew that a century was pushing it, as he suspected that this boy might even get there before then.

Chu Feng’s lips twitched. He didn’t know whether to laugh or to cry. Anthony getting to a level that took this Old Man a couple of epochs to reach in just a century was really humbling.

"For your own mental health, don’t bother comparing yourself to him. Even at the Planar level and above, there are none like him... at least to my knowledge."

The Old Man stated as he read Chu Feng’s thoughts. He simply gave him advice, as comparing one’s self to another person was the fastest way to lose one’s way and path.
