Chapter 1329: Vote

At Li Xinyi’s words, the geniuses shifted their gaze towards the skeleton Behemoth floating above through the Law of Space. They all stayed silent for a moment as they perfectly remembered that the Lich had indeed said something about it being a pity that it wasn’t able to kill them.

They could only sigh and wait it out, but how long they had to wait, none of them knew. The worst part was that there was not even a single mote of Origin Essence Energy here. If not, they would have decided to just spend the next few days in cultivation, but no, all that was here was just the scent and feeling of death and the likes.

They couldn’t even sleep, or just let down their guard or anything of the sort. They would be fools to do any of that.

"Let’s hope that the Lich suddenly changes its mind and tries something else that doesn’t involve us killing each other." Su Ming from the Sword Sect spoke with a calm tone, her eyes still sharp as ever.

The others nodded, that was their only wish right now. If the Lich could quickly become bored with them just sitting around and not playing its game, then it would be forced to change it into something else.

Anthony’s eyes shifted towards Li Xinyi. He couldn’t help but flash her a small smile. With just a few words, she had turned around the entire situation. After all, if she hadn’t, then these geniuses might just attack each other.

As Anthony was lost in thought, a hard clap echoed through the entire domain. Seven pairs of eyes immediately shot upwards, their eyes falling on the seated Lich as it clapped with a bit of an amazed expression on its face.

"I have to say, little girl, your words and mind amaze me," the Lich spoke as he clapped. "For that reason, if you are the last one to survive, I will throw in a bonus reward for you, aside from the original reward of everything everyone has," he stated in an amused tone.

Everyone couldn’t help but roll their eyes at the Lich’s words. One of the reasons they had been hesitant to even attack each other was the fact that they didn’t know what reward each person had gotten from the various domains till now. Could all six rewards be worth the combined pressure of six other forces? Maybe... Maybe not.

Everyone simply ignored the skeleton. Each of them blurred backwards as they gave themselves distance, then some sat down on the ground after laying a mat or various things against it. Some leaned against some of the tombs as though they didn’t care if an undead suddenly popped out from underneath. Some simply floated in the air and calmly waited for the secret realm to close.

Anthony sighed. He had thought something interesting was going to happen. Although the Lich had proposed a good game, the participants refused to follow the script. He waved a hand, a parasol appeared with a table with various fruits on it, and a reclined chair appeared. He sat on it as he took one fruit after the other, throwing their remains on the ground without care. This was a place of dirt; nobody cared about proper disposal.

The Lich and the six other geniuses could only stare at Anthony with surprised expressions as they wondered if he thought he was on some sort of vacation or something.

An hour passed, and nobody made any moves. Even the Lich didn’t speak; he simply stared at them as he knew that greed wouldn’t let these people just wait it out.

As two hours was about to pass, Anthony heard a voice in his mind, someone was communicating through telepathy or some sort of sound-mind transmission technique. But they weren’t only speaking with him, but with the other five geniuses as well.

’I have an idea,’ Luth Aleksandr of the Universal Cauldron Pavilion spoke.

’What idea?’ Maris Matis of the Runic Will followed up as he replied through his own transmission technique. He was simply too curious, and he was already tired of waiting, if he was being honest.

The others didn’t speak or react, but they listened nonetheless.

’What if we all attacked the Lich together?’ Luth Aleksandr asked.

At his words, there was silence at first, as though they had all heard the most preposterous thing in their entire existence in this Galaxy.

’It seems the Universal Cauldron disciples are as crazy as their goal of refining the Universe into a pill,’ Jerome Satire of the Heaven Sealers Association couldn’t help but reply.

’Indeed,’ Li Xinyi couldn’t help but agree. ’How can we attack it when we don’t even know its cultivation rank? The only thing we can assume is the Law it comprehends, and we don’t know the Law Stage it’s at,’ she countered the idea with a logical statement.

’Then are we supposed to just remain here?’ Luth Aleksandr asked. ’Besides, like you said, Li Xinyi, the skeleton isn’t allowed to kill us since it has to listen to its Master’s orders, meaning we can attack,’ he asked for a moment, then continued, ’and when we attack and nothing happens, then we can just give up and wait,’ he stated in finality, sounding as though only he was ready to carry out this plan if the others didn’t want to go along with him.

’I say we at least try,’ Su Ming of the Sword Sect stated. ’Although the Lich might not be able to kill us, I’m sure it can injure us, and we all have various pills and elixirs, so there isn’t anything to be really afraid of,’ she stated, supporting Luth Aleksandr.

Li Xinyi seemed to turn her attention to Anthony as she asked, ’White-haired Human, do you accept what these guys are suggesting?’

Anthony continued eating his fruit nonchalantly as he replied telepathically.

’I don’t particularly care if we wait, attack the Lich, or wipe out each other. I’m up for any of them once you all decide,’ he stated coolly. ’And just so you all know, my name is Anthony,’ he stated in finality.

Everyone was speechless as they couldn’t understand Anthony’s unconcerned and unbothered attitude. He barely spoke after the initial explanation of their situation, and since then, he had just fallen silent.

’Let’s vote then. If we hit a deadlock of three against three, then Anthony would be the icebreaker,’ Luth Aleksandr stated calmly.

Everyone agreed, as it was the only way for now.

The moment the votes were cast, it was four against two. Four people agreed to attack the Lich while two didn’t want to, meaning that now, they would all attack the Lich together, whether the other two wanted to or not.

The moment the tally was taken, nobody moved for a moment. The moment a minute passed, the seven of them vanished from where they were as they closed the distance between them and the Lich in less than a second. Seven different attacks closed in from seven various locations, all at the same time.

The Lich smiled as though he had anticipated this, or rather, disciples of the past had tried this.
