Chapter 5114: Good News

Chapter 5114: Good News

Hearing her words and seeing the worry in her expression, Mo Ze finally nodded. “Don’t worry,” he said. “I’ll look for it.” As soon as the words left his mouth, he closed his eyes and began searching his body with his divine soul.

Feng Jiu watched from the side. After a long moment, she saw him open his eyes and hurriedly asked, “How is it?”

Xuanyuan Mo Ze’s eyes flickered slightly as he looked at her. “There is indeed an ancient black lotus. However, it’s shriveled up in a corner of my soul. And it’s not a blooming black lotus—just a bud.”

“Shriveled up in a corner?” Feng Jiu was slightly surprised, somewhat unexpected.

“Mhm.”

Xuanyuan Mo Ze replied, leaning back against the bedside. “If I hadn’t sensed it, I’d scarcely have noticed its presence. But what on earth is going on? How did a black lotus end up inside me? And how long have I been asleep?”

Hearing that the black lotus was tucked away in a corner and hadn’t caused him any harm, Feng Jiu felt a wave of relief wash over her. A faint smile finally touched her lips as she said, “Well, it all started back when your advancement attempt failed.”

She stood up, poured a cup of water, handed it to him, and said, “Drink some water to moisten your throat. I’ll tell you everything slowly.”

And so, one reclined against the headboard sipping water while the other sat on the bedside recounting the events of these past years, revealing everything he hadn’t known.

This recounting lasted well past noon.

“That’s how it was. After I saw you devour that divine soul, the black lotus imprinted itself upon your heart. Seeing you remained unconscious, I worried about what effects this black lotus might have on you. But now that you’ve awakened and it hasn’t harmed you, I can finally rest easy.” Feng Jiu said, taking a sip from his cup.

“I see,” he nodded, sighing softly. “I never imagined I owed Old Man Tianji such a debt of life. It’s a pity he’s no longer with us.”

Feng Jiu stood up. “Well, there’s no need to dwell on the rest. We’ll always remember his kindness. You’ve just woken up—don’t stay lying down. I’ll have someone prepare some food. Later, I’ll accompany you to the courtyard for a walk and to get some sunshine.”

She smiled as she added, “They’ll be overjoyed to hear you’ve woken up.”

“Mhm.” He murmured in response, a faint smile playing on his lips.

After washing up, Feng Jiu stepped out of the room. The door opened to reveal Gray Wolf and Shadow One staring at her with excitement. “My lady, has the Master awakened? We thought we heard you speaking inside.”

“Yes, he’s awake. Go see him!” she said with a smile. Stepping into the courtyard, she instructed Leng Shuang, “Have the kitchen prepare some congee—simmered longer, light and simple. Bring it here.”

“Understood.” Leng Shuang replied, her heart also lightening at the news of the Hell’s Lord’s awakening.

On her way to the kitchen, Leng Shuang encountered Leng Hua and Du Fan. She shared the news of the Hell’s Lord’s awakening with them. Before long, everyone in the manor knew of this joyous event.

“Wonderful! Now Little Jiu won’t have to worry anymore.” Guan Xilin smiled as he walked toward the main courtyard with Wanyan Qianhua and the others.

As everyone headed toward the main courtyard, a Phoenix Guard hurried in to report to Qi Kang.

Hearing the Phoenix Guard’s words, Qi Kang was slightly surprised. He called out, “Du Fan, Fan Lin, come with me.”

The two who had been about to enter to see Hell’s Lord heard the voice, glanced back, and saw a Phoenix Guard standing beside him. They immediately approached him: “What is it?”
