But one name made Song Heping's pupils dilate — Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton.

"Fuck!"

He couldn't help but exclaim in shock.

This woman!

Song Heping was not unfamiliar with her.

The former Secretary of State.

Look at the task initiation time, just a month before her resignation.

The action plan detailed the times, locations, and types of weapons used in three actions.

In one instance it noted: "Provide live video through the White Helmets to ensure international media coverage."

Communication records: Encrypted communication between Misu and a CIA contact.

In a message from June 2015, Misu wrote: "Yesterday's attack killed 47 children. This is not what we agreed upon. I'm quitting."

Reply: "Complete the last task, and we'll arrange your evacuation."

Date of the final task: August 21, 2015.

Location: Suburbs of Damascus.

It was the very incident where Western media heavily reported the "Silia Government Army's use of chemical weapons."

Photo: Misu at a safe house in Turkey, shaking hands with Lemont.

Date: April 2014.

Another: Misu in a lab, surrounded by equipment provided by the CIA.

The label on the box was clearly visible: "US Army Chemical Materials Agency."

The last document made Song Heping hold his breath.

It was a threat assessment report, dated January 2016: "Asset 'Chemist' has gone rogue, possessing all details of the 'Seeder' operation. Extreme measures are recommended to eliminate risk."

Options in the recommendation column included "Accidental incident," "Battlefield elimination," "Permanent detention."

The final choice was circled: Battlefield elimination.

Approved signature: Major General Duke.

Song Heping copied the documents, compressed and sent them directly to Henry, then picked up his phone and instructed Henry to secure the data.

Afterward, he pulled out the USB drive and walked into the bathroom, destroying it with a lighter.

The plastic melted, emitting a pungent smell.

He flushed the ashes down the toilet, sitting back beside the bed.

Now he knew the truth.

Misu was a monster created by the CIA, and now they wanted to destroy the evidence.

And he was hired by these people to help complete this silencing.

But who just tossed the USB drive into his room?

It was certainly someone from the base, and not of low rank.

What were they up to by providing this to him?

"Damn, what a headache..."

Even someone as smart as Song Heping couldn't help but scratch his head.

It seems the person who provided him with this information wanted him to know the truth behind the action.

Moreover, he knew that once Song Heping obtained this kind of information, he wouldn't willingly be anyone's pawn and would certainly take action.

Who was he?

If this person wanted to take down those high-ranking individuals listed in the action plan, why not directly expose these documents?

Just throw it on the Dark Web, and naturally, some media would notice and make a huge deal out of it.

Handing it to him?

What for?

Suddenly, he remembered something, grabbed his smartphone, opened it, and logged into a website.

Soon, he saw the images on it.

That's right, election year!

FUCK!

It's a political game.

The other party provided him the information not because they couldn't disclose it, but because this information was merely information without concrete evidence.

What they needed was Misu.

Misu is a living witness.

Everything else is just paperwork; if Misu dies, these documents become meaningless.

But if Misu is still alive...

Heh.

Then this affair is massively implicated.

Who wants Misu dead?

Who wants to use his hands to ensure he doesn't die?

Time slipped away unnoticed as he pondered.

The sky outside the window began to whiten, the darkness before dawn the darkest.

Milosh's troops were about to set off, spreading across the border, looking for someone who knew they were about to be silenced.

And the Delta Force was heading to Badi Town to arrest a teacher who knew the secret.

Song Heping had a hunch it wouldn't go smoothly.

He stood, starting to check his gear.

Pistol, dagger, bulletproof vest, communication equipment, night vision goggles, first aid kit.

Each item was carefully checked to ensure it was in optimal condition.

Then he sat at the desk and began writing a letter.

Not an electronic document, but handwritten, in code.

If something happened to him, the letter would reach a designated person.

After finishing, he hid the letter in the belt layer.

Day broke, the first ray of sunlight pierced through the dust, illuminating the room.

A new day began.

The hunt continued.

Yet in this game, the line between hunter and prey was blurring.

Everyone was tracking someone else, and everyone was being tracked.

The truth, like a mirage in the desert, seemed clear but never reachable.

Song Heping pushed open the door, heading toward the stairs.

There were already people moving in the corridor, the air filled with the smell of coffee and frying bacon.

The start of an ordinary day, in an extraordinary place.

He descended the stairs, each step firm yet cautious.

Outside, Milosh was gathering his troops, engines rumbling, soldiers checking their gear, speaking in low tones.

War never stops; it just changes faces and continues in different places. But this time, the battlefield wasn't just desert and ruins, but the much more dangerous realm — the shadows of secrets, lies, and betrayals.

Song Heping took a deep breath, stepping into the morning light.

The intriguing stage had been set.

Who would be the prey next?

Who would be the hunter?
