Medical and Martial God
Chapter 795: Hang on the Utility Pole
Qin Qing and Tang Bo, among others, had seen Tu La’s notebook, so they were not at all unfamiliar with the name "the Musician." According to Tu La’s notes, the Musician hadn’t been imprisoned for breaking any laws. Instead, she had voluntarily entered the prison to practice the art of Sound Kill, using the inmates as her test subjects.
In his notebook, Tu La described the Musician this way: cruel, bloodthirsty, murderous, and taking pleasure in toying with people’s minds. Her greatest skills were Sound Kill, manipulating others with music, and bewitching their hearts with melody.
"You’re well-preserved," Dizang remarked, scrutinizing Mia from head to toe and clicking his tongue in wonder. "According to Tu La, the Musician is over forty, but this Mia here, with her delicate appearance, looks to be around twenty." He then asked, "Have you been eating dead children?"
By this point, Qin Qing and the others believed Ye Xiu. There was no reason for him to frame Mia, and they knew he possessed the ability to see through the strength of others. What surprised them was that so many people had been deceived by Mia. Was this the ability to bewitch people with a melody?
"Are you the Musician?" Tang Bo asked, his gaze icy as he stared at Mia.
Mia’s identity had been exposed by Ye Xiu’s single remark, yet she showed no trace of emotion. Her control over her expression was first-rate! But when Tang Bo questioned her, her face immediately crumpled into a look of grievance. "Popo, does Divine Doctor Ye disapprove of us being together? I haven’t done anything wrong, so why doesn’t he like me?"
Her acting was flawless. The innocent look, the hurt in her eyes, the voice tinged with a sorrowful, faint displeasure... it was simply perfect.
"My big brother is worldly and experienced. He says your zither is the Demon Zither, so it is the Demon Zither. Besides, he has the ability to see through the strength of others," Tang Bo stated expressionlessly.
Mia was greatly shocked. She hadn’t anticipated that Ye Xiu could see through others’ strengths. She had originally intended to use her voice to bewitch Tang Bo into supporting her unconditionally. However, it seemed Tang Bo was completely unaffected by her voice and firmly believed Ye Xiu’s judgment.
"Looks like the act is up," Mia said with a wry smile and a shrug, looking at Ye Xiu. "This is the first failure of my entire career. You truly are worthy of being the man the three great Judicator Families have marked for death. Truly extraordinary."
Her words conveyed only disappointment that her performance had been exposed. She showed no fear of the current situation and didn’t even consider Ye Xiu and his group a threat.
"Tang Bo, how should we deal with her?" Ye Xiu asked, ignoring Mia entirely. After all, Mia was Tang Bo’s fiancée. If Tang Bo was deeply infatuated and Ye Xiu killed her, he might just turn to the dark side.
Tang Bo gave an indifferent shrug, his scoundrel nature on full display. "I’m not short of money, so I’m certainly not short of women. Big Brother, you can do whatever you want with her. I never had any feelings for her!"
Mia stared at Tang Bo in shock, her carefully managed expression completely shattering. She couldn’t believe it. After using every trick in her arsenal, she had still failed to make Tang Bo fall in love with her.
"Musician, out of respect for your reputation as a renowned expert, I’ll give you one chance to make a move," Ye Xiu said indifferently, tossing the Demon Zither back to her.
Catching the Demon Zither, Mia laughed. "You shouldn’t have given this back to me. Although I’m at the Peak of the Seventh Realm, with the Demon Zither in hand, even a War God who has just entered the Eighth Realm would be no match for me, let alone ants like you."
With that, she quickly retreated three meters, cradling the Demon Zither in one arm and plucking the strings with her free hand. A supremely beautiful and enchanting melody poured out, a tune that burrowed into the ears of Ye Xiu and the others like bone-corroding maggots, seeking to obliterate their Primordial Spirits. It was a heart-shattering song, a lament echoing into the vast world.
"You... you all..." As she played on, Mia suddenly realized Ye Xiu and his companions were completely unharmed. They were all staring at her as if she were an idiot. "My Sound Kill, channeled through the Demon Zither, would affect even Tu La, who is Invincible in the Seventh Realm! How... how are none of you affected at all?"
Qin Qing and the others sneered. Ye Xiu had tampered with their Primordial Spirits, rendering any Primordial Spirit Attack completely useless against them.
"You are a great disappointment," Ye Xiu said, shaking his head with a sigh. "You call that Sound Kill? The buskers playing on the overpass are more skilled than you. Come, I’ll show you what a real Sound Kill is."
He then let out a sharp "HA!" in Mia’s direction. The next moment, Mia’s eyes widened in disbelief before she collapsed to the ground, dead. With that single sound, Ye Xiu had obliterated her Primordial Spirit.
Qin Qing and the others were inwardly astonished. Ye Xiu’s strength was simply absurd.
"Alright, it’s time for me to go." Ye Xiu picked up Jiaojiao, hopped onto the Wolf King’s back, and signaled for the beast to start running.
After they had entered the underground passage, Kristina, who lay unconscious on the Wolf King’s back, slowly began to stir. "Where am I?" she asked groggily.
Her question caught Ye Xiu off guard. "As a Princess of the Golden Family and a high-ranking member of the three Judicator Families, you don’t know about the underground and underwater tunnels?"
Kristina had no idea what he was talking about. "What underground tunnels? What underwater tunnels?"
"So you really don’t know..." Ye Xiu proceeded to explain in detail how the network of underground and underwater tunnels connected the various islands of the Eternal Islands.
Kristina’s composure shattered when she heard this. If she had known about the tunnels, she and Ming Yue would never have had to row a boat and swim to reach the Golden Family. It seems the three great Judicator Families have many secrets I don’t know about!
With this thought, Kristina asked, "Where are you taking me?"
"King Island," Ye Xiu answered plainly.
Kristina sneered. "Outsiders can’t get into King Island. Even with me, it’s useless. I will not help you get inside."
Ye Xiu simply knocked her unconscious with a chop to the neck.
When Kristina awoke again, the Wolf King was racing through a dense forest. "This... is this King Island?" she exclaimed.
The Spiritual Energy here was incredibly dense, even richer than in the Abandoned City. Kristina instantly knew she was on King Island.
"Didn’t you say I couldn’t get in?" Ye Xiu asked with a smile.
Kristina flushed with humiliation and rage. Her expression turned ferocious, and she wished she could bite Ye Xiu to death, but she knew she was no match for him and could only endure.
Ye Xiu took a device that resembled a telegraph from his large backpack. "This was on your father Tu La’s ship. You know how to use it, right?"
"I don’t!" Kristina snapped.
"Do you believe I won’t hang you from a utility pole in a crowded place?" Ye Xiu threatened.
Kristina’s expression changed instantly. She knew Ye Xiu was more than capable of carrying out his threat. With her status as a Princess, she would be too ashamed to ever show her face again.
Fuming, she reluctantly gave in. "I know how to use it!"
Ye Xiu nodded in satisfaction. "Good. In that case, please do me a favor and send a message to your mother. Tell her I have arrived on King Island. While you’re at it, ask her if the three Judicator Families have washed their necks yet."
