Chapter 775: Meteorite Life Gu

  • Next Chapter

Fledgling Phoenix was not blind like Crouching Dragon. She had eyes and saw for herself that when Crouching Dragon shook the Soul Control Bell, Ye Xiu’s expression remained perfectly calm. Meanwhile, the bell’s ringing caused Ghost Shadow to clutch his head in agony and roll on the ground. Yet, with a single casual kick from Ye Xiu, Ghost Shadow was freed from the Soul Control Bell’s influence and stood up as if nothing had happened.

This scene was too terrifying, too frightening, too unbelievable!

"Aren’t you going to use those four Corpse Kings yet?" Ye Xiu asked playfully.

Ignoring Ye Xiu’s question, Crouching Dragon asked in shock, "How did you resist the Soul Control Bell? Even the strongest of the three Arbiter Families are somewhat affected when I shake it. Why are you completely fine?"

Ye Xiu was stunned for a moment. "Are the strongest of the Arbiter Families really that pathetic?"

Crouching Dragon and Fledgling Phoenix were speechless.

Are the strongest of the Arbiter Families not strong enough? No, it’s clearly because you’re a monster!

The two suddenly realized Ye Xiu was no "Pseudo Sixth Realm War God," as the Arbiter Families claimed. In fact, they had suspected as much when he effortlessly killed the Sixth Realm Silver Corpse and the Seventh Realm Golden Corpse. But they had never imagined he would be *this* monstrous!

"Kill him!" Fledgling Phoenix snapped her fingers.

Immediately, the four Corpse Kings drew their weapons and charged at Ye Xiu. However, before they could even reach him, a single slash from his sword shredded their black robes, revealing their true faces.

Among them were unmistakably Tu La and Cha Muxue!

"So you really were the ones who killed them!" Ye Xiu snorted coldly. With another swing of his sword, he decapitated all four Corpse Kings.

"This..." The faces of Crouching Dragon and Fledgling Phoenix turned ashen.

Panicked, Fledgling Phoenix took out a flute and began to play a haunting melody. As the music drifted, countless crawling and flying insects emerged from her body, her wheelchair, and from Crouching Dragon, swarming toward Ye Xiu. These were the Gu Worms she had cultivated for many years. Despite their small size, their power was not to be underestimated. Some could easily tear through defenses as tough as iron skin and brass bones, while others carried deadly toxins that could corrode the bodies of even the most powerful experts, injecting them with lethal poison.

While Fledgling Phoenix made her move, Crouching Dragon was not idle. He pulled a doll and a set of Silver Needles from his satchel, chanting incantations as he stabbed the doll. Simultaneously, he used his Martial Prowess to levitate the Soul Control Bell, which hung in the air shaking and emitting a piercing shriek. This was his most powerful witchcraft. Through the Soul Control Bell, this technique established a connection with an enemy, linking them to the doll. By stabbing the doll with Silver Needles, he could control, severely injure, or even kill his target.

This was their strongest attack!

"Don’t show off such crude little tricks in front of me!"

Ye Xiu stamped his foot, unleashing a shockwave that swept out like a fierce gale, instantly annihilating all the approaching Gu Worms. At the same time, he waved his hand, pulling the floating Soul Control Bell into his grasp.

CRACK!

He crushed it to pieces.

Crouching Dragon and Fledgling Phoenix were stunned into silence. Ye Xiu’s strength made them feel an unprecedented sense of powerlessness and despair.

"We’ve lost," Fledgling Phoenix said through gritted teeth, her expression grim as she stared at Ye Xiu. "But you can’t kill us. Even the strongest of the Arbiter Families couldn’t kill us; they could only imprison us."

Ye Xiu scoffed. "I already told you the strongest of the Arbiter Families are pathetic. Don’t compare them to me."

As he spoke, he walked up to Crouching Dragon and Fledgling Phoenix and tapped each of their foreheads. A moment later, two identical golden insects crawled out from their skin.

"The Meteorite Life Gu," Ye Xiu said playfully, casually drawing the two small insects into his hand. "The Arbiter Families couldn’t kill you because they didn’t know you possessed these."

Seeing the Meteorite Life Gu in Ye Xiu’s hand, Crouching Dragon and Fledgling Phoenix finally panicked. They simply couldn’t believe it. The Meteorite Life Gu is our greatest secret! How could he possibly know?

"Rumor has it," Ye Xiu began, toying with the small insects as he sneered, "that a person who uses a Meteorite Life Gu as their Life Gu can never die as long as the Gu itself is alive. No matter how severely the host is injured, the Meteorite Life Gu can heal them rapidly." He paused. "I wonder if the rumors are true. Let’s use you two as an experiment."

The weaker prisoners and bounty hunters are mostly dead by now. The rest have fought their way to the port, and the zombie army can’t finish them off for the time being. So, there’s no need for Crouching Dragon and Fledgling Phoenix to stay alive.

"No, don’t..." Seeing Ye Xiu about to crush the Meteorite Life Gu, Crouching Dragon and Fledgling Phoenix cried out in fear.

Ye Xiu paid them no heed and simply crushed the insects in his hand.

SPURT!

SPURT!

Crouching Dragon and Fledgling Phoenix spat blood in unison. Their vitality withered in an instant, their breathing becoming as faint as a thread. They were moments from death.

"Ye Xiu, Ye Xiu..." Fledgling Phoenix glared ferociously at him and roared, "Even if we die, don’t think you’ll get to live!"

With that final shout, she died. Crouching Dragon was already dead.

Seeing this, Ye Xiu and Ghost Shadow breathed a sigh of relief. The greatest threat was finally dead.

However, before they could fully exhale, they saw the zombies on both sides of the deck suddenly charge toward them in a frenzy. The entire zombie army—under the ship, at the port, on the beach, and farther inland—was madly rushing toward the vessel.

"How can this be?" Ye Xiu’s scalp tingled. "I thought killing the Corpse Controller would make the corpses die too!"

At that moment, Ye Xiu realized his understanding of Witch Gu Techniques was not as deep as he thought. It seemed the Corpse Gu lineage possessed a Secret Technique that allowed the corpses to automatically avenge their master, even after death.

"Young Master, what do we do now?" Ghost Shadow asked, panicked.

Ye Xiu was anxious, too. He had planned to eliminate the remaining prisoners and bounty hunters after killing Crouching Dragon and Fledgling Phoenix. But now, with every single zombie charging at him, he had no chance to deal with those people. Besides, they couldn’t even get close to him through the massive zombie army!

"We can only retreat outside the Formation for now and notify Biluo Island to send an army to help eliminate the zombie army," Ye Xiu said helplessly.

Just as he was about to lead Ghost Shadow out of the Formation, the thundering sound of approaching helicopters filled the air. Ye Xiu and Ghost Shadow turned to look, only to see dozens of military helicopters closing in. Far out on the horizon, more than a dozen warships were also speeding toward them.

What’s going on?

Ye Xiu and Ghost Shadow were completely bewildered.

"Haha, little brother, you’re still alive! I’m here to rescue you!" An Dongye’s boisterous laugh boomed from one of the helicopters. "All units, on my command! Target the crowds and light those motherfuckers up!"

Then, Ye Xiu watched as dozens of military helicopters instantly fired hundreds of shells.

"Holy shit, An Dongye, don’t shoot me!"

Seeing a shell hurtling toward him, Ye Xiu’s scalp went numb. He grabbed Ghost Shadow and leaped into the sea. At that same instant, the shell slammed into the deck.

BOOM!

The massive explosion echoed as they splashed into the water below.
