In the core of the Nightmare Domain, countless black orbs were levitating everywhere. If anyone tried to count them one by one, he would probably grow old and then die, because that number was almost close to the billions. These orbs were the nightmares of all the beings that the Saint of Nightmare had collected over his lifetime of centuries. And in the centre of these black orbs stood a black figure with no definite shape, standing silently. Its body was made of fog—just a mass of black fog that swayed slightly. Its eyes, if it had any, would be looking at the orb that was just now floating in front of it, or maybe behind it, depending on which side was behind it and which side was in front of it.

The orb was floating around him. It was the nightmare that he had conjured a few moments ago, and this nightmare belonged to Asher.

The Saint of Nightmare had just used his ability and had conjured the nightmare with everything that he had found in Asher’s consciousness, and he was just getting excited to witness everything that would happen in that nightmare.

But just as Asher’s consciousness was transported inside that nightmare, something strange happened. The black orb started being covered by a strange white mist, and before the Saint of Nightmare could even understand where this white mist had come from, the whole orb was covered by it.

The black fog-like figure of the Saint of Nightmare moved towards the orb, which had now become completely white, trying to enter the nightmare itself, but it just passed right through the orb.

The Saint of Nightmare tried to enter the nightmare again, but he again passed right through it, just like his previous attempt.

And then he tried again many times, but the result was still the same. And then, while he was about to try again, a voice suddenly came from the orb, “Stop wasting your time, you stalker bastard, get a J*b1 instead.”

The Saint of Nightmare instantly understood whose voice that belonged to, and as soon as it did, it grew angry as it realized that it had been fooled by Asher. And then every being around the eastern region froze for a moment as the whole Domain of Nightmare trembled violently.

And then the beast vessel body of Asher, which had been staying still inside the domain, was instantly destroyed by the Saint of Nightmare in anger.

But it had no effect on Asher’s nightmare, as Asher’s consciousness was already inside the nightmare, so it did not matter whether his physical body was destroyed or not.

Inside the nightmare.

Asher woke up inside the body of a child of seven years old. After waking up in that body, Asher looked around himself.

He was lying on a bed, and the ceiling was just a few feet away from where he was lying. The ceiling was made of brown-colored wood, and when he looked around, he noticed the whole room was made of the same wood. There were four beds inside the room. The room was not that big—it was like the room that students have in a college hostel, with one bed above another, and there were a total of four beds inside the room, two tables near the beds, and a window in the room that was just on the opposite side of the wall that had the door. The beds were near the walls adjacent to the wall that had the door. Asher was lying on one of the upper beds. The room was clean and was in somewhat good condition.

It was a familiar as well as an unfamiliar room for Asher. Asher then slowly came down from the bed. When he reached the floor, he found a table with a basket of fruits and a knife with it on the table. Asher’s gaze stopped at the knife briefly, and then he muttered, “Which idiot leaves a knife in the room of children who are seven years old?”

Asher looked at the fruits for a moment, and then he examined his body. It was a normal child’s body with no mana core, but there was mana around him.

And then all the mana started moving towards Asher’s body slowly.

And then, suddenly, Asher looked around at the door of the room, as he heard the sound of the door opening.

The door slowly opened, and then a girl of the same age as Asher entered the room.

The moment Asher saw the girl, he felt a little pain in his knee, as if there was an injury there, even though Asher’s current body had no injury.

Asher then soon realised the reason for the pain, and then laughed internally and then thought, ‘I guess everything went good, I have the ability that I needed.’

Asher ignored the pain and then stared at the girl calmly for a moment, and then flashed a smile and greeted her in a cheerful tone, “Good morning.”

The girl looked at Asher for a moment with a surprised expression. Asher could not understand why she was surprised. ‘Did she notice me controlling mana?’

While Asher was thinking this, the girl moved closer to Asher and then extended her little hands toward Asher’s arm and gave a pinch near his wrist.

Asher did not react to the pinch and just looked at the girl in confusion, not understanding why the girl was doing this. And then the girl’s expression became even more confused, and then she extended her other arm and pinched Asher on his other arm too.

Asher still did not react, and then he looked at the girl for a moment in confusion, and then asked with a confused expression, “What are you doing, and why?”

The girl looked at Asher for a little more while still pinching him. And then she said, “I was just checking if it was a dream or reality.”
