Chapter 589: Chapter 356: Kill

Gao Lingwei suddenly said, “So far, I’ve only spotted Snow Ghosts and Snow Corpses.”

Yin Hu said in a grim voice, “Give Pupil Sharing to Pig. While you observe, keep your eyes locked on Snow General Candle.”

Miss Mao Rabbit’s sweet voice suddenly came through the invisible headphones. “Wan’an Pass has dispatched reinforcements! They’re on their way!

Also, a squad of soldiers happens to be at the Snow Prison Warrior Village trying to recruit them. Should we…”

Before Mao Rabbit could finish, Fu Tiance’s voice cut in over the comms, “Get them! Have them drag every last Snow Prison Warrior from the Snow Prison Village over here!”

Everyone understood the principle of strength in numbers—how enough ants could take down an elephant. Besides, the Snow Ghosts and Snow Corpses weren’t mere “ants.” Most were elite-level, and within this massive army, there was bound to be a significant number of master-level threats as well.

One or two Snow Corpses were manageable, but once their numbers swelled, anyone would be forced to retreat. The problem was… the Snow Burning Army was escorting the Bailing Tree Maiden clan. They couldn’t run.

A Bailing Tree Maiden called out, “Fall back! We can shield you from the attacks, be they physical or spiritual.”

Clearly, the Bailing Tree Maidens were thinking more comprehensively. If an insidious and cunning Spiritual Soul Beast was hiding within such a massive legion, it would be a devastating blow to the Snow Burning Army.

Yin Hu ordered, “Everyone else, fall back! Ugly Ox, Wu Ma, prepare A Snowy Ocean! We’ll swallow their vanguard first! Cheng Border!”

“Here!”

Yin Hu: “The Cyan Mountain Army all have Snow Dragon Tornado, right?”

Cheng Border: “That’s right! It’s standard issue for the Cyan Mountain Army!”

Yin Hu: “Snow Ghosts aren’t hindered by the terrain. We need Wind Element skills to rip them apart…”

Before he could finish, two more mounted warriors charged out of the small gate at the rear.

“Xu Yiyu, cast Snow Dragon Tornado with Captain Cheng!” Fu Tiance yelled, seizing command.

A battle in the open field was completely different from a defensive siege.

An army of Snow Corpses and Ghosts was perfect as a suicide squad for assaulting a fortress wall.

Lacking the Snow Step Soul Skill, they couldn’t stand on the surface of the snow. They could only rely on their superior physical strength to plow through it.

Therefore, on an open battlefield, A Snowy Ocean was like a ravenous beast with a gaping maw, ready to swallow as many Snow Corpses as came its way!

As for the Snow Ghosts, which could dissolve into frost and snow, A Snowy Ocean couldn’t stop their charge. But if they dared to disintegrate, the Snow Dragon Tornado would shred them to pieces.

WHOOSH…

The next moment, the massive Tree Castle, formed from over a thousand Bailing Trees, began to glow. A fluorescent green light swirled across the entire northern wall.

On this pitch-black, blizzard-swept night, the colossal fortress stood ready for battle.

Bathed in the faint, green glow of the great Bailing Tree formation, the five members of the Twelfth Squad and the two from the Cyan Mountain Army stood with their bodies tensed, staring into the blackness to the north.

And at last, Rong Taotao’s vision connected!

Through the eyes of his Snowball Cat, Rong Taotao witnessed a scene straight out of the apocalypse.

He once thought that seeing three or five hundred Snow Corpses and Ghosts was apocalyptic enough. Today, he learned he was wrong.

Dead wrong.

A dense, teeming army of Snow Corpses and Ghosts swept south like a surging flood. They ran with reckless abandon, stumbling and crawling over each other in a chaotic, crowded mass.

As soon as a Snow Corpse in the front rank fell, another would trample its body to surge forward. The Corpse Tide was like a tsunami, an unstoppable force that seemed impossible to halt.

‘A scene like this… are they really just here to “eat”?’

‘Don’t tell me they’re on some kind of mission. Please, no…’

The Snowball Cat’s gaze locked onto him amidst the chaotic horde: Snow General Candle, mounted on a white horse.

He wielded an ethereal, Dark Gold Yanyue Saber. His helmet, armor, and long, snowy cape snapped in the frigid wind.

Its mount, a wildly neighing Snow Night Shock, trampled over the roiling Corpse Tide as it charged swiftly forward.

Snow General Candle turned its twin candle-like eyes toward the illuminated Tree Castle, and in an instant, those flames burned with a ferocious intensity!

It raised its Dark Gold Yanyue Saber, pointed the long blade, and let out a hoarse roar: “DRONE!!!”

Amidst the cacophony of the howling night, Rong Taotao couldn’t actually make out what the majestic, ancient Ghost General was shouting. But from its movements, its posture…

Rong Taotao seemed to understand a single word: Kill!
