Master of Fangcun

Chapter 180: Reversing the Old to Extract Life Force

  • Next Chapter

“Since the quality of the newly born Yao Infants has increased substantially, a reduction in their numbers should be perfectly reasonable.”

With that single indifferent sentence from Fang Han, the excitement on the face of the exotic beast Fei suddenly froze.

“What? Could it be that you really intend to use this to earn merit? The Thirteenth Pasture cannot withstand even the slightest scrutiny. Once the Yao World learns that you have colluded with humanity and committed treacherous acts…”

Fei instantly came to his senses.

Its expression changed several times before it was forced to acknowledge reality.

“Failing to report what I know is a capital offense. Especially with such an earth-shattering change occurring in the Thirteenth Pasture... I have no way back now.”

“The Thirteenth Pasture must remain as mediocre and inconspicuous as possible. From the looks of it, this little fellow may actually bring me trouble…”

Fei raised its single eye and stared intently at the little black snake lying across its forehead.

The sleeping little snake seemed to sense something and suddenly woke up.

It looked around but found nothing suspicious, then once again grew drowsy and fell back asleep.

“But now that the Twelve Longevity Methods have been implemented, all Yao children will benefit from them. As long as we submit the infants, the abnormality of the pasture will inevitably be exposed.”

“And if there is something unusual about the number of infants we submit, the main world will certainly send people to investigate as well.”

No matter what they did, it seemed impossible to avoid the Martial Dao World being exposed in the end. Fei was completely at a loss.

Fang Han remained silent as well, seemingly having no solution either.

The man and beast returned to the sealed domain surrounding the Primordial Qi gathering point.

On the third day, Fang Han suddenly spoke.

“Since the Yao infants have become more robust by consuming additional essence, qi, and spirit from Grandmasters, all we need to do is extract those things back out.”

“Hmm? But if we forcibly extract them, the Yao Infant will be born deficient, and anyone who looks at it will immediately be able to tell…”

Fei instinctively retorted.

However, after seeing what Fang Han did next, its words abruptly came to a halt.

Fang Han simply extended his right hand and pulled the little black snake from Fei’s forehead through the air.

Without seemingly exerting any force at all, streams of blood-red energy began pouring out of the little snake’s body and gathering in Fang Han’s palm.

It was as though a large portion of its life essence had been forcibly stripped away. The little snake visibly weakened before Fei’s eyes.

Yet strangely, the little snake did not give off any sense of weakness.

It simply seemed as though it had always been that way.

Fei stared fixedly at the red orb of light in Fang Han’s palm, formed from the life essence of the newly born snake. It was utterly astonished.

“What kind of divine ability is this? It can actually strip away the foundation of a Yao Infant without anyone noticing?”

“Foundation?”

Fang Han sneered coldly.

“It was never innate to begin with. It merely stole the blood essence and will of others.”

“This divine ability simply makes it return what was stolen to its rightful owner.”

“You should know its name as well. It is called [Encountering Ancient God].”

Fei was stunned upon hearing this.

“Encountering Ancient God? Isn't that the human race's secret art that can allow a martial artist to return to the peak of their former strength?”

Fang Han nodded.

“Different paths lead to the same destination. The principle is similar, but the method is different. Human Encountering Ancient God means returning to the peak of one's strength from the past. Yao Encountering Ancient God, on the other hand, means returning to the state one possessed when naturally conceived, the state one should have possessed from birth.”

“Take a look for yourself. Can you find anything abnormal about this little fellow?”

As he spoke, Fang Han handed the little black snake over.

From beginning to end, the little black snake had not noticed anything that had happened to it. It remained sound asleep.

Fei examined it from every angle for quite some time before finally having no choice but to admit the result.

“It truly seems completely natural, as though it was always meant to be this way…”

Halfway through its sentence, a trace of doubt suddenly appeared in Fei's eye.

Its vague instincts told it that this divine ability for extracting life origin had absolutely nothing to do with the so-called [Encountering Ancient God].

Yet for some reason, Fang Han insisted on linking the two together.

Fei did not dare argue with Fang Han too forcefully. After a moment, it once again turned its attention toward the blood-red orb of light overflowing with vitality.

“How do you intend to deal with this life origin? One or two Yao Infants would not matter, but if this continues accumulating over time, the amount of life origin will eventually reach an utterly terrifying scale…”

“Tell me, is this life origin useful to you?”

Fang Han did not answer. Instead, he suddenly asked a question.

“Me?”

Fei was slightly stunned.

Before it could react, Fang Han had already flicked his finger, sending the blood-red orb of light directly toward Fei.

Fei opened its mouth, seemingly somewhat hesitant.

But in the end, it chose to swallow the orb, beginning to digest it.

After a while, Fei suddenly opened its eye, and a flash of excitement passed through it.

“This life origin is extremely pure. It contains no trace of any Yao beast bloodline aura whatsoever. It is like a naturally occurring great tonic. Even I can absorb it completely without suffering any side effects!”

“The quantity is a little small, but…”

Fei seemed reluctant to part with the taste as it stretched out its tongue and licked its lips.

“From now on, I will give you one-third of the life origin extracted from the Yao Infants.”

Fang Han was not surprised by Fei's reaction and simply spoke in an indifferent tone.

“One-third…”

The exotic beast Fei did not greedily demand more. On the contrary, it knew its own place very well and was already extremely satisfied with that amount.

“What do you need me to do?”

Fei understood perfectly that nothing came without a price. Now that it had become a direct beneficiary of this arrangement, it immediately changed its stance and hurriedly asked.

“Joining me in this corruption and feeding on the life-origin aura of our own kind's infants... Aren't you afraid that once this matter is exposed, the Yao race will settle accounts with you and leave you without even a place to be buried?”

Fang Han teased it.

Fei chuckled.

“Afraid? Of course I'm afraid. But…”

“Our Yao race is naturally fierce and vicious. In ancient times, the strong were revered, and the weak could be casually treated as food. All these rules and systems only appeared after the emergence of the One Emperor and Four Kings. Everything I am doing is merely following the ways of our ancestors.”

“As for settling accounts…”

“I have no way back anyway, so I might as well walk this path all the way to the end. If one day I can follow you and invade the main world…”

A trace of madness was concealed within Fei's otherwise calm single eye.

“Then it will be hard to say who settles accounts with whom!”

Hearing Fei's words, Fang Han could not help but sneer.

“You really believe that I will go there someday? This Martial Dao Pasture World is already sufficient for me.”

Fei's gaze remained firm.

“You will. You definitely will.”

Through their brief interactions over these days, Fei had already seen the extraordinary nature of Fang Han, this great Wu.

A figure of such stature could never be satisfied with an insignificant pasture world while remaining indifferent to the vast and boundless Yao World beyond it.

“When that day comes, I hope I will be fortunate enough to become your vanguard.”

Fei lowered its head respectfully and spoke with utmost sincerity.

Fang Han, however, restrained the smile on his face and gave no response.

“First, keep the Pasture World from collapsing for fifty years.”

“As for what happens afterward, who knows?”

Fang Han looked into the distance, seemingly lost in thought.
