Marvel: I Am The Lord of the Shadow Dimension
Chapter 53: Chapter 53: A New World
After re-confirming for the tenth time that he was truly disconnected from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Luke stood frozen in place.
Walking over to the portal that usually led to Kamar-Taj, he noticed the magical ring was completely dark and inactive. He almost suffered a mental breakdown on the spot.
'Why did I have to be so fidgety?! Nobody was bothering me, and I just HAD to test if I could drift an entire dimension through space! Now the multiversal coordinates are completely scrambled! How the hell do I get back?!'
Luke frantically pulled out Odin's ancient grimoire of coordinates, but after flipping through it, he realized there was no coordinate labeled "Earth - Marvel Cinematic Universe."
He didn't possess the cosmic authority to naturally initiate cross-dimensional communications like an Elder God, which meant he was genuinely screwed.
'Wait... hold on! The energy supply contract!'
Luke remembered his soul-bound contracts with Odin and the Ancient One. He was actively feeding them dark energy!
'How do I signal them? Morse code? But I don't know Morse code!'
He wasn't one of those genius web-novel protagonists who knew every obscure skill under the sun before transmigrating.
He needed to find a populated universe first, otherwise he'd be floating in the empty void forever. If the local civilization was advanced enough, he could learn Morse code there, and if Morse code was universal across dimensions, maybe he could communicate with Kamar-Taj.
Luke placed his final hope on Odin's book. The multiversal void was infinitely vast; without a precise beacon, you could drift for a million years without encountering a single universe.
If he could conquer a few hostile dimensions and loot their Dimension Lords' high-tech gear, he might find a dimensional anchor to hold him until the Ancient One came to rescue him.
'May the Sorcerer Supreme bless me... Amen.'
Luke forcefully dumped 1.1 million Energy Points through the contract to the Ancient One, hoping the sudden massive energy spike would act as a distress flare.
After resting for a bit and calming his nerves, Luke opened Odin's book to find a hostile low-tier dimension to raid.
Back in Kamar-Taj, the Ancient One had just finished re-enchanting all her ancient spellbooks to draw power directly from Luke's dark energy. She had just sat down to quietly enjoy a cup of tea in her private quarters when a massive, terrifying flood of dark energy slammed into her soul.
'What is this boy doing?! I was just about to take a break!'
Ever since Luke's physique and power surged, the Time Stone's ability to peer into his future had become increasingly unreliable. High-density dark energy inherently resisted temporal manipulation, meaning she couldn't simply peek into the future to see what trouble he was getting into.
'Isn't he supposed to be a guest at Odin's palace right now?'
Sensing the overwhelming volume of dark energy threatening to overfill her physical body, the Ancient One winced.
Her mortal vessel couldn't safely store that much dimensional energy at once. Realizing she was on the verge of bursting like an overinflated balloon, she immediately expelled the excess dark energy into the air around the temple.
Out in the main courtyard, Kaecilius was practicing Eldritch spells alongside his fellow sorcerers. They were chatting happily about the future of Kamar-Taj.
Kaecilius had always dreamed of wielding overwhelming, destructive offensive magic. Having lived in the mundane world before becoming a sorcerer, he had initially assumed sorcerers were essentially living artillery batteries.
Only after joining Kamar-Taj did he learn the depressing truth: "Everything comes with a price." Sorcerers weren't high-tier damage dealers; they were deeply indebted loan-takers constantly sacrificing their own lifespans and energy to protect the world from cosmic threats.
He had been deeply disappointed by this reality until Luke appeared.
Luke brought pure, unrestricted offensive energy into their lives. Soon, all their spells would be powered by his dark energy supply. While it wasn't technically "free" power, compared to the horrific interest rates charged by dark dimensional entities, Luke offered interest-free loans that could be paid off through manual labor at Kamar-Taj!
The only problem was that Luke's energy output was still relatively small, only enough to supply high-ranking masters. But Luke was growing rapidly, and Kaecilius was willing to wait.
'Ah, if only Lord Luke had a truly endless ocean of power right now...'
Just as he sighed, a massive, terrifying wave of pure dark energy violently blasted open the doors of the Sorcerer Supreme's tea room!
The dark energy collided with the dense ambient natural energy of Kamar-Taj, violently detonating in mid-air. Crackling arcs of lightning and shockwaves filled the courtyard in a Hollywood-level special effects display!
'Where did this much dark energy come from?!'
Kaecilius panicked slightly, worried the dark energy would corrupt the surroundings. But the energy seemed carefully controlled, consciously neutralizing itself against the local magic without harming anyone.
Once the shockwave dissipated, Kaecilius stared at the tea room in sheer disbelief.
'Didn't they say Lord Luke's energy supply was limited?! How is Master Ancient One casually venting a ocean's worth of dark energy just to clear the air?!'
Though he didn't say it out loud, Kaecilius felt a sudden twinge of jealousy...
Luke, completely unaware of the chaos he had caused at Kamar-Taj, had been gacha-pulling dimensions for over ten hours. His mined energy capacity had surged toward twenty million, but he hadn't managed to catch a single slippery Dimension Lord.
'No, this isn't working. I'm scaring them off before I can even enter.'
'I need to feign weakness, lure the enemy deep into my trap, and then deploy my entire army in a pincer maneuver to capture the Dimension Lord alive!'

Formulating his brilliant plan, Luke dismissed his massive, terrifying army of Shadowkhan. He stretched his arms, preparing to put on an award-winning theatrical performance of a defenseless novice traveler.
He did a 10-pull, securing a single low-tier dimension.
Luke stepped through the portal, putting on an expression of pure, terrified hesitation, only to look around and realize...
'Where the hell is everybody?!'
'I spent two hours practicing my script, and there isn't a single living soul in this entire dimension?!'
Luke deployed a squad of Shadow Ninjas to scout the area, confirming the dimension was completely abandoned.
'Is this a trap? Is the enemy playing the long game?'
Luke ordered his ninjas to begin mining the dimension's dark energy. His energy pool steadily rose, but no enemy ever materialized to stop them.
It was truly an abandoned realm.
Walking through the low-tier dimension, Luke noticed the ambient dark energy didn't resist him at all. It felt like an unowned property.
'How did an unowned realm even grow into a low-tier dimension?'
Luke summoned his entire army, ordering them to search every inch of the realm.
A few hours later, a ninja reported finding a strange spatial rift in the corner of the dimension.
Luke walked over to the crack. He could feel dark energy continuously leaking out through the rift into whatever lay on the other side. Because of the constant leakage, this dimension was slowly shrinking and degrading over time.
'Ah. So this realm used to be a higher-tier dimension, but it decayed because of a hole in the wall.'
Luke gathered the ambient dark energy, sealing the leak from his side. Then, he sent a scout squad of Shadow Ninjas through the spatial crack.
A few minutes later, the ninjas returned unharmed, confirming the other side was completely safe.
Instead of immediately assimilating the dying dimension, Luke wrapped his body in a dense layer of dark energy and stepped straight through the spatial rift.
Crossing the spatial crack, Luke found himself standing inside a massive, heavily industrial mechanical structure. The colossal machinery was surrounded by thick, natural rock walls, forming an inverted, narrow cavern.
Hovering up to inspect the center of the mechanism, Luke realized it was an ancient device designed to forcibly open and sustain a spatial rift.
The machine had been drawing power directly from the dark energy leaking out of the dimension to keep the portal open. But now that Luke had sealed the energy flow, the machine sputtered and died. The spatial rift rapidly shrank and collapsed behind him.
Sensing that his link to the Dark Dimension was still perfectly functional, Luke casually ordered his realm to devour the dying low-tier dimension, permanently cutting off the power source to the ancient machine.
Ignoring the strange mechanical structure for now, Luke used his shadow-stepping ability to pass through the solid rock walls.
Emerging into the blinding sunlight, Luke looked around. He was standing in a vast, scorching desert.
Turning around to look at the "cavern" he had just exited... he realized he was standing on the side of a massive, ancient stone pyramid!
'Holy crap... I didn't just get cursed by a Pharaoh, did I?!'
Luke immediately channeled dark energy across his skin and clothes, purging every speck of ancient dust.
'Great. Now I don't have to worry about catching an alien mummy virus.'
Relieved, Luke looked around at the completely deserted landscape. He ignited his flight boots and shot straight up into the sky.
He kept accelerating upward until he breached the atmosphere, hovering in the cold, thin upper orbit of the planet.
Looking down, he saw a satellite slowly floating past.
'Okay, so this planet definitely has modern human technology. I wonder if there are superheroes or mutants here?'
Just as he was pondering the local universe, his superhuman senses registered several high-speed objects approaching the atmosphere from deep space.
Turning his head, he saw several flaming "meteors" re-entering the atmosphere in a tight formation.
'What the hell? Are meteors doing group tours now?'
Luke quickly sidestepped to avoid their re-entry path, but to his absolute shock, the meteors subtly adjusted their trajectories in mid-air to steer clear of him!
'Wait a minute! Meteors don't swerve! Those aren't rocks!'
Watching the flaming objects streak toward the surface, Luke ignited his flight boots and followed them down.
With his dark energy reserves sitting at several million, he wasn't afraid of anything this universe could throw at him.
The meteors seemed to be intentionally decelerating as they plunged through the clouds. Luke effortlessly maintained his position alongside them.
Inside the re-entry pods, encrypted radio signals were frantically bouncing back and forth. If translated into human speech, it sounded something like:
"WHAT IN PRIMUS' NAME IS THAT ORGANISM FLYING NEXT TO US?!"
"How can an organic, carbon-based lifeform survive in outer space without armor?!"
"I'm starting to get terrified of this planet. That creature's internal energy signature is so high it's scrambling my sensors!"
"How the hell did Bumblebee survive on this death world for so long?!"
Luke couldn't intercept radio waves, so he had no idea the "meteors" were currently having a collective panic attack. He simply hovered alongside them, watching them curiously.
Reaching the lower atmosphere, the meteors suddenly split up, heading toward different coordinates.
'Hey, wait! I can't split myself into five pieces! How am I supposed to follow all of you?'
Luke blinked. He wanted to see what these things actually were.
Thinking quickly, Luke attempted to manipulate his dark energy to construct remote surveillance eyes or clones.
Since he wasn't particularly experienced in spell creation, he ended up condensing several floating, pitch-black spheres of dark energy.
While the black spheres lacked combat capabilities, they possessed the exact sensory and tracking functions he needed.
'Not bad!' Luke nodded in satisfaction. He had severely underestimated his own dimensional authority. In his free time, he could easily create custom spells.
Sending a black sphere to track each departing meteor, Luke personally chose one meteor to follow down to the surface.
CRASH!
The meteor slammed violently into an empty field, kicking up a massive shower of dirt and sparks.
Luke landed nearby, completely speechless.
'What kind of suicidal ODST drop is this?! If you guys have interstellar travel technology, could you at least install proper landing thrusters?!'
A series of loud, mechanical whirring and clanking sounds echoed from the crater.
Luke watched in awe as the "meteor" uncurled, its metallic plates shifting and reassembling until a seven-meter-tall mechanical giant stood before him.
'What the hell?!'
Luke stared at the bulky, alien robot in complete bewilderment.
'He looks vaguely familiar, but I can't quite place him... Is this another fictional universe?'
Watching the giant robot cautiously back away, looking at him with extreme hesitation, Luke was deeply confused.
'You're a multi-ton alien robot! Why are you looking at a 'primitive' human like you're terrified of me?!'
Luke had completely forgotten that he was currently surrounded by a passive, swirling aura of pitch-black energy holding nearly a million points of power.
The mechanical giant, Jazz, stared at the tiny human hovering a few feet off the ground.
"Greetings, inhabitant of Earth. We mean you no harm. We have traveled to your world solely to retrieve a lost artifact of our civilization," Jazz said slowly, his vocal synthesizers producing heavily accented, but clear Mandarin Chinese.
Through internal diagnostic scans, Jazz was horrified to discover that the energy readings radiating off this tiny, floating organic organism completely eclipsed those of their leader, Optimus Prime!
It was completely incomprehensible to his Cybertronian logic units!
Luke stared at the giant robot, utterly bewildered.
"How do you speak Chinese?"
"I accessed your planet's global information network during re-entry and acquired your linguistic data. Based on your physical facial features, my algorithms calculated an 89.7% probability that you originate from the nation of China," Jazz explained carefully.
Luke rubbed his chin. "You know, you're starting to look really familiar. Anyway, what were you about to do? Just carry on. Pretend I'm not here."
Jazz cautiously observed Luke. Through his internet scans, he knew that the vast majority of humans were fragile, low-power organic lifeforms. He hadn't found a single record of humans flying in outer space or generating terrifying energy fields.
'Is this individual a genetic mutation? Or an ancient guardian of this world?'
However, analyzing Luke's facial expressions using human psychological models, Jazz confirmed the entity possessed zero active hostile intent.
'Well... even if Optimus and the entire squad jumped him together, we probably couldn't beat him anyway,' Jazz reasoned logically. He decided it was best to cooperate and report this anomaly to Optimus Prime when they rendezvoused.
Jazz turned and began walking away. As he moved, he communicated via comms with the rest of the Autobots, only to learn that every single one of them had a strange, pitch-black floating sphere silently tailing them through the sky. The spheres didn't attack or communicate; they just watched.
After synthesizing the incoming data, Optimus Prime issued a squad-wide directive: assemble at the designated coordinates immediately.
'Earth may possess unexpected, highly dangerous anomalies, but we came here with no ill intent. As long as we secure the AllSpark and avoid conflict, we should be fine... hopefully.'
Having received Prime's orders, Jazz stopped walking cautiously and transformed his stride into a full sprint.
According to his internet analysis, the giant Cybertronian form would cause extreme public panic among humans. He needed to scan a local vehicular form to blend in.
Luke casually floated along behind the giant robot, arriving outside a local automotive dealership. He watched in confusion as the seven-meter robot stared intensely at a sleek sports car through the showroom window.
'Why is he staring at a car? Does he think he can sit inside a tiny coupe like that—WOAH!'
Before Luke could finish his thought, the mechanical giant suddenly dissolved into a rapid, breathtaking sequence of shifting gears, folding metal plates, and reassembling chassis components.
In less than three seconds, the giant robot completely vanished, replaced by a pristine, silver Pontiac Solstice sports car sitting on the pavement.
Luke stood frozen in mid-air, his jaw dropping to the floor.
He finally realized which universe he was in!
