Chapter 570: Chapter 570 The Inside Story

The black hole array disintegrated instantly under the impact of the sword light, turning into rings of violent gravitational waves that scattered in all directions.

The energy aftershock swept heavily across Ebony Maw’s body.

"No! Impossible!"

Ebony Maw only had time for this thought to flash through his mind.

His telekinetic protective layer, which maintained his life, shattered like paper in front of the sword energy.

The purple crystal on his forehead let out a crisp "crack" and shattered into powder.

Having lost the protection of the telekinetic film, the harsh environment of the cosmic vacuum immediately took its toll on Ebony Maw.

The extreme low temperature and pressure difference drained all the heat from his body in an instant.

In just a few seconds, a thick layer of frost formed on Ebony Maw’s skin.

His blood stopped flowing, and his internal organs were frozen.

He still maintained the posture of pushing his hands forward, but this second-in-command of the Black Order had already turned into an ice sculpture floating in space.

His eyes still retained that trace of terror from before he was frozen.

The entire arena, along with billions of viewers on Earth, screamed at this moment.

"We won! We won!" Peter Parker did backflips in excitement.

"A magnificent battle." Steve revealed a relaxed smile.

However, just as everyone was cheering, a sudden change occurred in the arena.

The golden giant sword in the Ancient One’s hand slowly dissipated, but her body suddenly went limp without warning.

Her eyes were tightly closed, as if she had lost all consciousness, and she drifted aimlessly in space like a broken puppet.

Everyone was stunned; worry and confusion surfaced in everyone’s hearts.

"What happened? Is the Master injured?" Steve asked nervously.

Not only them, but even Homelander frowned slightly.

Things had clearly exceeded his expectations as well.

Others couldn’t see it, but Homelander could clearly see that the Ancient One’s astral form—that is, her soul—had actually rushed out of her physical body and was floating right beside it.

Homelander’s mind raced.

He immediately ruled out the possibility of any external attack.

Ebony Maw’s counterattack had just been completely disintegrated, and even he himself had been frozen into an ice sculpture; no attack could have harmed the Ancient One.

Then, the only answer close to the truth was the Dark Dimension.

Homelander did not hesitate and immediately cast a magic seal.

In an instant, his consciousness connected to the Dark Dimension, contacting Dogo, who was stationed there.

"Explain, what is going on?" Homelander’s voice rang out in the Dark Dimension.

Dogo’s huge face emerged from the dark energy, his tone carrying a trace of awe and innocence.

"Great Master, you cannot blame me. Your previous instruction was to open all dimensional permissions to that woman without any obstruction."

"So?" Homelander pressed.

Dogo explained: "So I did not impose any restrictions on her. When she began to draw energy, I actually outputted at full power. But her mortal physique simply could not withstand this level of energy infusion."

"Her body could not adapt to such immense power, resulting in her astral form separating from her body."

Homelander realized what had happened.

In short, the Ancient One had overexerted herself when using this unrestricted power for the first time, leading to energy overload.

As long as she waited for the energy in her body to dissipate to a certain threshold, her spirit would naturally return to her body.

Homelander set his mind at ease and turned his gaze back to the arena.

But at this moment, a deadly situation had arisen on the field.

The energy dissipated from the black hole that the Ancient One had previously defeated had not completely vanished.

They spontaneously gathered in space, forming tiny new black holes.

The gravity of this small black hole was slowly increasing, and the direction it was pulling was exactly toward the unconscious, drifting Ancient One.

If the Ancient One were awake, a black hole of this level would pose no threat to her.

But now, in her unconscious state, once she was sucked into the black hole, her physical body would undoubtedly suffer a fatal threat.

The situation was extremely critical.

The heroes on the platform also saw the issue; Tony grabbed the communicator on the platform and shouted at the Grandmaster: "The match is over! That alien has turned into an ice cube! Declare the match won immediately and clear the field!"

The Grandmaster’s holographic projection appeared on the platform and said slowly: "Don’t get excited, my friends from Earth."

"I am a person who follows the rules. You see, although that guy named Ebony Maw has turned into an ice cube, monitoring shows he still has faint vital signs. As long as he isn’t completely dead, the match continues."

"However..." the Grandmaster changed the subject, "given that Ebony Maw has clearly lost the ability to fight, if the other side voluntarily requests to stop the match, within the rules of the tournament, I can be merciful and declare this match a draw."

A draw!

This meant Earth would lose this point that was within easy reach.

All the heroes’ gazes were focused squarely on Homelander.

He was the leader of Vought, the absolute core of this team, and only he could make the decision.

But Homelander didn’t even give the heroes a chance to persuade him.

With a firm gaze and a decisive tone, he said to the Grandmaster with emphasis: "Stop the match! We forfeit this round."

Upon hearing this, the smile on the Grandmaster’s face grew even wider.

"As you wish, Homelander!"

Then the Grandmaster appeared above the arena and announced loudly to the entire arena: "Due to the Earth camp voluntarily forfeiting, and the Black Order contestant also having lost the ability to fight, the result of this match is—a draw! Neither side will be awarded a point!"

As soon as these words were spoken, the whole arena was in an uproar.

Especially those gamblers who had placed heavy bets, whether they had bet on the Black Order to win or on Earth to win, they were all dumbfounded the moment they heard the word "draw."

After a brief moment of stunned silence, the entire arena erupted into overwhelming cursing and swearing.

"What kind of bullshit draw is this! That alien turned into an ice cube; this is clearly Earth winning!"

"My money! I bet all my interstellar credits! Grandmaster, you Vampire!"

"Rigged! This is definitely rigged! They colluded to scam us out of our money!"

"Grandmaster, you greedy old bastard, I curse you to hell!"

"I don’t accept this! I demand a rematch! There must be a winner!"

"I will sue you at the Interstellar Court! This is just a scam!"

Facing the countless angry, roaring gamblers below, the Grandmaster couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

Of course he had to laugh, and laugh heartily.

Because the massive off-site betting pool was opened by him personally.

He was the only bookmaker.

Countless people bought bets on wins or losses, but very few people bought a draw.

This meant that for this round’s betting funds, he would sweep everything.

Moreover, these bets were off-site earnings, and he didn’t have to share a single cent with Homelander.
