He changed his hand seal. The lush tree that had been compressed to less than a hundred meters tall suddenly reverted to its ten-thousand-meter-tall stature. Its branches shot out like serpents to seal the spirit formation gate.

“You have such means?” Wen Xue was amazed.

“Heh...” Jie Tianran scoffed.

The red monstrous beast opened its mouth wide to devour the branches sealing the spirit formation gate, but its teeth passed right through the branches. Somehow, the two entities were unable to make contact!

Jie Tianran’s smile stiffened. He tried to touch the branches with his hand—it felt solid. His face further darkened.

The red monstrous beast couldn’t destroy the tree, and his consciousness couldn’t leave the realm unless the tree was destroyed. Time was not on his side, as the realm was collapsing on them. Who knew what would happen if their consciousness remained in the collapsing realm?

Chu Feng was planning to bring them down with him!

“Chu Feng, you must be desperate. Do you think I’d fear you?” Jie Tianran glared at Chu Feng.

“Return my energy to me. Otherwise, none of us is getting out of here,” Chu Feng replied.

“So be it. Let me see what will happen once this realm collapses!” Jie Tianran scoffed.

The realm was collapsing so quickly that even Wen Xue panicked. It was unlikely they would escape unscathed if their consciousness were to be caught in this destruction.

Wen Xue made her way to Chu Feng’s side, grabbed his sleeves, and said, “Forget it, Junior Chu Feng. Let’s not stoop down to their level. We can always turn the tables on them as long as we continue living. It won’t be worthwhile to give our lives away for those two old things.”

But Chu Feng quietly stared at Jie Tianran, determined to pit his guts against the latter.

“Junior Chu Feng, why are you so stubborn? Those two already have a foot in the grave, but we’re still young. It isn’t worth it!” Wen Xue panicked.

But Chu Feng remained firm.

Jie Tianran coldly looked at Chu Feng. He also seemed determined to wait it out to the end.

The previously boundless realm had been reduced to a pitch black void, and the collapse was already on the verge of reaching them.

“Jie Tianran, return the energy to him. There’s no need to go this far against a mere child,” the entity succumbed first and issued an order to Jie Tianran.

In response, Chu Feng formed a hand seal and compressed the tree. At the same time, the branches blocking the spirit formation gate retracted back to the tree.

The entity looked at Chu Feng and remarked, “Chu Feng, the truly strong will not pit their lives against others. You won’t be this lucky the next time we meet.”

“Old thing, the next time we meet, I’ll rip off your hood and expose that hideous face that you dare not show others,” Wen Xue scoffed.

“Hmph!” The entity harrumphed before leaving via the spirit formation gate.

Wen Xue was so anxious that she rushed to the spirit formation gate, but she stopped at the entrance and urged Chu Feng to hurry.

“The tree’s roots are too deeply lodged in the ground. I need to compress it further before I can take it with me.” Chu Feng revealed the reason he was still staying put.

“Hurry up, Junior Chu Feng,” Wen Xue urged.

“Don’t worry, I’ll make it in time.” Chu Feng was calm in contrast.

His calculation was on the dot. Before the destruction could engulf him, he reduced the tree to the size of a sapling, picked it up, and stepped through the spirit formation gate with Wen Xue.

“That grandfather of yours is a loser, but Junior Chu Feng, you’re too obstinate. We nearly lost our lives there,” Wen Xue said grudgingly.

“I was just intimidating them into submission. I wouldn’t have done that if he truly had the guts to hold it till the very end. Why would I give my life away in vain?”

Chu Feng’s consciousness walked up to his physical body and reached into it. Two powerful bloodline powers stirred inside his physical body.
