Chapter 6447: Poisoned Origin Energies
Chapter 6447: Poisoned Origin Energies
That was why Chu Feng was so eager to forge a Bloodline Soul Puppet. Once he succeeded, he wouldn’t have to fear backlash from bloodline rampage.
This worked on other backlashes as well, but bloodline rampage was the strongest means he had at hand, so he was naturally more concerned about that.
Once he successfully forged a Bloodline Soul Puppet, the only thing left for him to do was to master bloodline rampage. That was why he devoted his time not to absorbing natural energies but to study the mysterious metal piece.
Having met the God Clan and other Ancient Era’s races, he knew raising his cultivation by a rank or two wouldn’t matter much, unless he had reached Heavenly God level. But if he could grasp bloodline rampage, he could turn the tables during moments that counted.
That was why he didn’t lose his composure despite all the dangers he had encountered in the Immemorial Cemetery. With this hidden card up his sleeve, he wouldn’t have to fear opponents like Jie Mubai.
He hadn’t planned on using this move unless necessary. He was reserving it for Jie Tianran.
But when the Heavensword Sacred Palace stole the Spirit God Clansmen’s powers and threatened their lives, he knew he had to make a move. It also didn’t make sense to leave it to Eggy when he still had cards up his sleeves, especially given the hefty price Eggy would have to pay to deal with an opponent like the Heavensword Sacred Palace’s Palace Master.
He didn’t think it was worthwhile to use his bloodline rampage on the Heavensword Sacred Palace, but he had no other choice. He had to kill every single palace member to reclaim the Spirit God Clan’s powers, for that was the only way to save them.
“Can you still use your Bloodline Soul Puppet?” Eggy asked.
“It has completely shattered under the backlash. I won’t be able to use it anymore,” Chu Feng replied.
Eggy frowned. “Won’t the backlash go after you now that you don’t have your Bloodline Soul Puppet anymore?”
“I was also worried about that. I thought I’d be next after the backlash destroys my Bloodline Soul Puppet, so I was in a rush to recollect the Spirit God Clan’s powers. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be able to save them before I collapse. That’s why I didn’t reply to you right away.
“Fortunately, the Bloodline Soul Puppet absorbed the brunt of the backlash. I did suffer a bit from the backlash, but it’s still within my means to take,” Chu Feng replied.
He was speaking the truth. His complexion was slightly paler and his aura was slightly weaker, but that was all there was to it.
“The Heavensword Sacred Palace deserves to die!” Chu Feng suddenly cursed.
“What’s wrong? Are you unable to remove their bloodline from the Spirit God Clan’s powers?” Eggy asked.
“No, their bloodline is not a problem for me. I’m talking about their origin energies. I thought you could feast on their Heavenly God level cultivators’ origin energies, but they mixed poison into their origin energies, making it dangerous to assimilate them. The poison appears to have been injected into them at birth,” Chu Feng said.
“How underhanded. Let me take a look,” Eggy said.
Chu Feng transferred the origin energies he had just collected into his World Spirit Space.
Eggy picked up a sliver of the origin energies and placed it on her palm. With her bare eyes, these origin energies didn’t appear any different from normal origin energies. But upon careful examination, she sensed extreme malice in them.
It was not just any poison but lethal poison.
“Why does it seem like the orthodox sects are viler than the malevolent sects? Who, in their right mind, injects poison into their origin energies?” Eggy cursed.
“They are just a bunch of self-righteous scum. It is disgusting to see people pretending to be upright while committing all kinds of atrocities,” Chu Feng spat.
Self-righteous people tended to disguise themselves well.
Chu Feng had a good impression of Tuoba Yijian, Tuoba Tianxue, and Tianjian Canhua. He harbored goodwill to the Heavensword Sacred Palace as well, given that they had rushed to his aid upon receiving his call for help.
But that all turned out to be superficial.
As soon as the Heavensword Sacred Palace learned about Tianjian Qingyuan’s death, they changed their tune and backstabbed Chu Feng. This was no accident. They had been harboring malice toward him, just that they couldn’t make a move due to Tianjian Qingyuan’s intervention.
None of them rejected the Spirit God Clan’s powers. That made all of them guilty. None of them deserved to live.
“Chu Feng, do you think Tianjian Qingyuan is really dead? Does that mean that we won’t be able to find your grandmother anymore?” Eggy asked.
While Chu Feng was conversing with Eggy, a Spirit God Clansman told Chu Feng that the Heavensword Sacred Palace’s change of attitude arose due to Tianjian Qingyuan’s death.
“I’m not sure. Actually, I can’t sense my grandmother anymore,” Chu Feng said.
“Ah?” Eggy was taken aback.
She couldn’t care less about Tianjian Qingyuan’s death, but she was concerned about Chu Feng’s grandmother.
“It’s fine. I was worried about it at first, but I don’t think anything would happen to my grandmother,” Chu Feng said.
He panicked when he first realized he could no longer sense his grandmother, but his worry faded as his intuition told him that his grandmother was fine. He could only trust his intuition now and his grandmother’s strength.
It was meaningless to worry here.
“Chu Feng, your grandmother will be fine. She is very strong,” Eggy said.
“Mm.” Chu Feng nodded.
“I have good news for you,” Eggy continued.
“What is it?” Chu Feng asked.
“As underhanded as the Heavensword Sacred Palace is, they are unlucky to have met me,” Eggy said with a smile.
Eggy, are you able to assimilate it?”
“I can. It’ll take longer, but it doesn’t matter since I’m not in a rush.”
“That’s good.”
That was excellent news, but Chu Feng couldn’t bring himself to smile, not with the Spirit God Clan still being in a terrible state. He might have reclaimed their powers, but it wouldn’t be easy for them to recover to their former states.
It was the equivalent of a mortal having their limbs severed. Even if a divine physician reattached their limbs, they would still never be able to move their bodies the way they used to. Their reattached limbs might just be mere decoration.
That was the problem Chu Feng was facing. It wouldn’t be easy for him to properly fuse the Spirit God Clansmen’s powers back into them.
“Chu Feng,” a familiar voice echoed.
A flying warship appeared in the tombstone realm. Little Fishy and the others had returned.
“Big brother, how are you feeling?” Little Fishy ran to Chu Feng’s side, but she stopped when she realized that the latter was treating the Spirit God Clansmen. She dared not interrupt him. Nevertheless, she remained worried about him even though he looked fine.
“Don’t worry, I’m fine,” Chu Feng reassured her.
The others were also examining Chu Feng, and the latter appeared fine in their eyes. It was inconceivable to them, but it didn’t seem like Chu Feng had suffered any adverse effects from his bloodline rampage.
“Holy shit! B-b-brother, you’re a monster! We saw what y-y-you did just now! I didn’t expect the Heavensword Sacred Palace to be this p-p-powerful. Those nineteen old hags were even taller t-t-than this realm! Yet, you easily obliterated them!”
Wang Qiang appeared more relaxed than Little Fishy. He spoke with huge body motions, still feeling awed by the earlier scene.
As for the others, they looked at Chu Feng with greater respect than before. They thought they already had a high evaluation of Chu Feng, but it turned out they were still underestimating him.
